Chapter 253: A Song from an Actor Moves the Capital (18) (4/5)

The person in his arms gradually stopped crying. Lin Su lowered his head and asked, "What happened during this period of time?"

He learned from Lu Jun's new memories that he still committed suicide, but the reason was not clear. He only knew that he was being cursed.

"When did you come back?" Bai Jinglang did not answer, but chose to ask him.

"Morning." Lin Su said.

Bai Jingtang released him, removed the rope from his hand, and handed it to him, saying, "You must have followed me for a day. You saw the situation. My identity has been exposed."

"Who did this?" Lin Su asked as he took the rope loop.

"It's Boss Liu." Bai Jinglang sat at the table with his head down, holding the rope.

"What's the reason?" Lin Su asked.

Bai Jingtang tilted his eyes slightly and said, "Because he wants to make more money."

"You're lying." Lin Su looked at his expression and said, "Is that why you can't tell me? Is it... because of me?"

"No." Bai Jingtang retorted subconsciously, his face pale. "It's none of your business."

He was so eager to distance himself from the matter. Lin Su thought for a moment and said, "Is it because you want to leave Guiyuan?"

Qing Huan's song is worth a thousand gold coins, so he is naturally the biggest cash cow of Guiyuan. He is the rich man, and Boss Liu will not make things difficult for him. The only variable is that he wanted to leave Guiyuan before. The gang needs money, so how could he watch this cash cow fly away like this? This is why the current changes have happened.

Bai Jinglang's body stiffened. Lin Su understood what was going on. Originally, he had never thought of leaving there, so Boss Liu protected him. It was not until Boss Liu was killed by Wang Laizi and Wei Fang that the Bai family lost their support. But he forgot that the umbrella itself was made of knives. Although it protected the Bai family, it also devoured their flesh and blood.

He made the decision because of himself, and Boss Liu's gang was obviously more threatening than those two people.

Lin Su sat aside, held him in his arms and said, "Baby, don't carry this matter alone. You feel bad, and I feel bad watching you. Tell me what happened before, and we can solve it together, okay?"

Bai Jinglang couldn't see him, but he relaxed slightly when he heard his words. "You didn't come back that day, and I didn't know if you would ever come back. I thought about what you said, inquired about the Zhigongtang, and then contacted them. They agreed to look after the Bai family, but because their roots aren't here, and the war is so fierce outside, they can't provide care at the moment."

"Yeah." Lin Su responded, "And then?"

"Then I told Sister Ying about not going on stage anymore. She explained the pros and cons. I had planned to continue on stage for a while, but Boss Liu's men overheard our conversation," Bai Jinglang said, lowering his eyes. "He found out about me from Sister Ying, brought people to my house, and threatened me with my parents, so the news got out."

Accidents often lead to the most misfortunes.

Lin Su asked, "What about your parents?"

"They're under guard, and the Bai family's shop has been occupied, but as long as I'm still on stage, their lives won't be in danger." Bai Jingtang said, "Don't worry."

"Well, what are your plans for the future?" Lin Su asked.

Bai Jinglang took a deep breath and said, "The Bai family's reputation in the imperial capital has already been ruined. The Zhigongtang's roots are not here. Their people contacted me and said that they can take us away from here when they have time. The Bai family still has savings. When we reopen a shop somewhere else, I can take good care of them."

His plan was good, and starting over somewhere else would be enough to escape the control of fate, but he was still in the Bai Mansion in modern times, which meant that there were variables.

"What time is the agreed time?" Lin Su asked.

"Three days later." Bai Jingtang said the time, but hesitated for a moment, "When are you leaving?"

"I won't leave. I'll stay with you." Lin Su said.

"Okay." Bai Jingtang put his arm around his waist.

"You haven't eaten properly all day today. Go ask the kitchen to cook you a bowl of noodles." Lin Su touched his stomach and said.

Bai Jingtang's stomach growled at the right moment, but he looked hesitant: "I don't want to eat."

Lin Su asked in confusion: "What's wrong?"

"The rice they cook is terrible." Bai Jingtang frowned and said, "Yeah, it's terrible."

In Lin Su's impression, he was not a picky eater. When he ate at the same table with his parents, he would usually only take a few dishes in front of him and had no dietary restrictions. When he was hungry outside, he would just find a stall to eat.

How bad could the food be that could make him so hungry and still complain about it, and even repeat it twice?

"Is there anything in the kitchen?" Lin Su asked.

Bai Jingtang replied, "Yes, but what I make is also terrible."

"I'll cook for you." Lin Su put him down and said, "Do you know how to make a fire?"

Bai Jingtang hesitated for a moment: "...I think so."

Very good, it should be, basically no.

Lin Su pulled his arm and went to the small kitchen. There were rice, flour and other dishes. Although they were a little wilted, they were still fresh. Those people obviously did not intend to starve him, but they did not expect that this young master could not cook.

The people guarding the place were all men, and they might not be so careful as to hire a servant. The Bai family was about to leave, so they dismissed all the servants, probably because they were afraid of getting them into trouble.

Lin Su first kneaded the dough and stayed awake, then placed dry firewood in the stove and spread leaves underneath. He then lit the fire. The flames burned brightly. Bai Jingyan lifted up the hem of his clothes and squatted aside to watch, his expression full of surprise: "You light the fire so quickly."

When he lit the fire, there was only thick smoke, as if the house was going to burn down.

"After counting to sixty, add a piece of firewood and count slowly." Lin Su said as he looked at the short man squatting on the ground.

"Yeah." Bai Jingtang responded.

The flame was not very big. Lin Su washed and cut the vegetables, then heated up the oil and stir-fried them. When he closed the lid on the pot, he cut the vegetables almost continuously.

The two dishes came out of the pot in no time, and the aroma filled the air, causing Bai Jingjian to pause in adding firewood. He swallowed his saliva as he looked at the covered dishes, wiped the pot clean, and poured clean water into it. Lin Su directly put the dough in the pot, opened the heat, and cracked an egg into the pot.

When the noodles are ready, put them directly into the bowl with the sauce. The poached egg lies safely on top, which looks delicious.

Bai Jingtang's stomach rumbled repeatedly. Lin Su chuckled, sealed the stove, and said, "Alright, bring it inside to eat."

Bai Jinglang almost cheered, picked up the tray and walked into the house.

The two dishes were not too big in portion and tasted very refreshing. The noodle soup had a slightly sour taste, but it was very chewy and had a lingering aftertaste.

"This is so delicious." Bai Jingtang praised.

"Eat slowly. You have an irregular diet. Eat something light first." Lin Su sat beside him and looked at him.
