Chapter 111 Heart of Dragon Flame

Just then, a mysterious traveler appeared silently by their campfire. His cloak concealed most of his face, revealing only a pair of wise eyes. The air around them seemed to grow heavy with his arrival.

"The path you have embarked on is one of both glory and challenge." The traveler's deep, magnetic voice rang out, causing everyone around to hold their breath in suspense. "The invitation from the royal city is both an opportunity and a test. Remember, the game of power is complex and ever-changing, and the Dragonfire Heart you possess will attract the covetous eyes of all sides."

Eileen frowned slightly and asked warily, "Who are you? Why do you know so much about our affairs?"

The traveler smiled slightly, extending a hand from his cloak, palm up. A soft light slowly rose, transforming into a series of flowing images: on the map of the kingdom, forces intertwined, undercurrents surging; conspiracies among nobles, the suffering of commoners, and... a figure closely connected to the light of the Dragonfire Heart, foreshadowing a great upheaval.

“I am the guardian of the past and the future. I have come to guide you toward the right path.” His words seemed to contain an irresistible power. “But remember, the final decision is in your hands. Whether you choose wisdom and justice or are devoured by greed and power is entirely up to your hearts.”

Alex stepped forward, his expression grave. "We know the road ahead won't be smooth, but since we've chosen to set out, we're prepared to face anything. Do you have any specific advice or warnings?"

The traveler lowered his head in thought for a moment, then looked up, his gaze sweeping over everyone: "While your strength is formidable, you cannot ignore the complexities of the human heart. In the royal city, you will encounter three key figures: one is a wise man hidden in the shadows, who knows the secrets of the kingdom; another is a powerful nobleman whose ambition is enough to shake the very foundation of the nation; and the third is a seemingly ordinary girl with extraordinary abilities, who will be the key to your success."

“Remember, trust takes time to prove itself, and the line between ally and foe is often very thin.” With that, the traveler’s figure gradually blurred, as if merging into the night, leaving only his last words echoing in the air: “At the boundary between light and darkness, the truth awaits to be discovered. Good luck, warriors.”

Around the campfire, the teammates fell silent, each processing the information they had just received. Bart broke the silence first: "No matter what the future holds, we are ready to face the challenge. As long as we hold fast to our beliefs, the light will eventually come."

Leia flipped through the book of knowledge in her hands, her eyes gleaming with determination: "Yes, knowledge will illuminate our path forward, and we are the force that changes the world."

Eileen gazed at the starry sky, her heart filled with anticipation for the future: "We are not just fighting for ourselves, but also for those who cannot speak out. This journey will surely write a new legend."

Alex stood up, the Dragonfire Heart clutched in his hand radiating a warm yet resolute light. "Then let us prepare ourselves and march toward the royal city. Neither conspiracy, challenges, nor the unknown can stop us from pursuing true peace and justice."

Under the night sky, their vows shone as brightly and resolutely as the stars, foreshadowing an epic journey about to begin. On this journey, they will face not only external threats, but also inner struggles and growth; every choice they make will influence the course of their future.

As the first rays of dawn pierced the sky, they packed their bags and set off on their journey, bathed in the rising sun. Their figures gradually disappeared into the distance, leaving behind not only footprints, but also boundless anticipation and hope for a bright future.

“No matter how many unknowns lie ahead,” Alex’s voice echoed in the wind, “as long as we have light in our hearts, nothing is impossible.”

On the edge of the village, a group of people attracted the attention of the early-rising villagers. An old woman stopped weaving, watched the departing figures, and murmured to herself, "Youth is so wonderful, always full of hope, bravely moving forward into the unknown."

At the village entrance, a vendor was packing breakfasts while chatting with a blacksmith next to him: "Did you see those young men? Especially the one with the strange stone, he has an indescribable aura, like a hero who can change the world!"

The blacksmith paused with his hammer, looked up into the distance, and a hint of nostalgia flashed in his eyes: "Yes, there was a time when I also dreamed of such adventures. I hope they can find the peace they desire, and not be like me, whose dreams have been forgotten under the weight of life's burdens."

Along the way, passing through a dense forest, a squirrel suddenly leaped down from a tree and perched on Eileen's shoulder, gazing curiously at the Dragonfire Heart in her hand, as if drawn by its magic as well. "Squeak!" it chirped excitedly, as if saying, "Take me on an adventure!"

Eileen chuckled softly and said gently to the little squirrel, "Little one, everyone has their own journey. Your home is here, but our path lies far away."

After passing through the dense forest, a bustling town came into view. The town's children were chasing and playing, and when they saw the group, they immediately surrounded them, their eyes sparkling with curiosity and admiration.

"Big brother, big sister, are you going to do something important?" a little girl with pigtails asked, looking up.

Alex bent down, patted the little girl's head, and smiled, "Yes, we're going to the royal city to fight for a better life for everyone."

"Wow, you are heroes!" the children exclaimed in unison, their eyes filled with envy.

Just as they were about to leave the town, a ragged old beggar blocked their way. His cloudy eyes suddenly lit up as he stared at the Heart of Dragonflame and whispered, "The wheel of fate keeps turning. You are the lighthouse in the storm, guides or destroyers, it all hangs by a thread."

Passersby turned to look, puzzled, but the sudden sense of heaviness made the atmosphere subtle.

Night fell again, and they lodged at an inn. Inside, a motley crew of people gathered, their laughter and the clatter of dice filling the air. A traveler with a full beard, drunkenly slammed his hand on the table and exclaimed, "Hey, have you heard? A group carrying a mysterious gem is heading to the capital to stir up trouble. This world is getting more and more interesting!"

Upon hearing this, a gambler nearby scoffed, "Just the few of them? The waters in the royal city run deep. Tomorrow's headline might be 'Ignorant youth stumbles into the royal city and perishes in the game of power.'"

Alex remained impassive, exchanging glances with his teammates. His words were both a taunt and a reminder. They knew every step required caution.

As night deepened, moonlight streamed through the window, casting a soft yet mysterious glow upon the Heart of Dragonfire. Eileen sat by the window, gazing at the night sky, and murmured to herself, "How many unsolved mysteries are hidden in the traveler's words? How will we encounter that girl, that wise man, that nobleman?"

Alex entered the room and sat down beside her: "No matter what, as long as we stand together, there is nothing we cannot overcome. Tomorrow will be another day."

“Yes, a new day.” Eileen turned her head, her eyes shining with determination. “I hope we can become names remembered in history, rather than just a speck of dust.”

A gust of wind blew past the window, bringing news from afar; it seemed even the wind itself was telling of the impending storms and challenges.

“Whatever the future holds,” Alex said softly, bringing the conversation to a close, “at least for now, we still have each other and a dream worth fighting for.”
