Chapter 187 Embers

As the embers of the campfire gradually died down, the village fell into the quiet of the night. The return of the messenger of light not only thrilled the villagers but also inspired many young people to explore the unknown world. In a small tavern at the village entrance, several young men gathered, excitedly discussing their future adventures.

"Have you heard? The Lightbringers are setting off again tomorrow!" A young man with short hair waved his wine glass, his eyes filled with excitement.

"Really? They just got back!" The young man next to him was a bit skeptical. "Aren't they going to rest for a few days?"

“What does it matter? They’re not ordinary people,” another young man interjected. “They’re fighting for the light!”

“That’s right!” the tavern owner said with a smile as she wiped the table. “Their spirit is stronger than anyone else’s. Our village is full of hope precisely because of them.”

The other patrons in the tavern gathered around, each expressing their opinions and expectations. Suddenly, hurried footsteps sounded outside the door, and a villager came running in, panting.

"Everyone! The Lightbringers will be setting off tonight! They are waiting in the square for those who wish to embark on this journey together."

A commotion erupted inside the tavern as young people put down their glasses and rushed towards the door. A large number of villagers, mostly young people and children, had already gathered in the square, watching the Lightbringer with anticipation.

“We must seek more light,” the young swordsman stepped forward, his voice firm and resolute, “but this is not something we can do alone. We need more people to join us in fighting the darkness and protecting this world.”

"But where are we going?" a child asked curiously.

The young messenger smiled and replied, "We will find the answer on our journey. But one thing is certain: we need everyone's support and strength."

An elderly man walked among them, his gaze kind and warm: "The return of the messengers of light has made us understand the power within each person. Whether you are young or old, you can contribute to this world."

A burst of enthusiastic applause erupted from the crowd, and more and more people decided to follow the messenger of light to explore the unknown. The children were especially eager, as if they were about to embark on a thrilling adventure.

At this tense and exciting moment, a group of strangers suddenly entered; they were merchants and warriors from a nearby town. One of the merchants looked at the Lightbringers and said:

"We heard that you are preparing to set off to find a new path to light, and we would like to join you."

“Very good, welcome to join us!” The archer nodded in agreement.

The villagers were even more excited, and the atmosphere in the square became increasingly lively. Everyone felt that this upcoming journey would be a brand new beginning, perhaps even changing the course of their lives.

Just as everyone was preparing, a young boy suddenly squeezed through the crowd. He looked nervously at the messengers of light and said:

"Can I join? I want to become a brave messenger of light, just like you!"

The young messenger bent down and asked gently, "Are you really ready to take on this important task? This path may be full of hardships."

"I've thought it through! No matter how difficult it is, I want to do my part." The boy's eyes were firm and unwavering.

The Lightbringers exchanged glances, then nodded simultaneously. "Then come with us," the swordsman said.

Night fell once more, and the group, fully prepared, set off towards the unknown. Beyond the village lay not only a treacherous environment, but also countless hearts in need of help and problems awaiting resolution. But they believed that as long as they held onto hope, they could overcome all difficulties.

Shortly after the group left the village, a mysterious woman quietly appeared by the roadside. She silently watched the retreating figures of the Lightbringers, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"This journey won't be easy; new challenges await them," the woman murmured to herself. "But it's also an inevitable choice."

Meanwhile, in a small hut in the village, several elderly people were talking.

"Do you think they'll actually find a way to solve the problem this time?" someone asked.

“As long as they keep the light in their hearts and persevere, I believe they will definitely achieve their goals,” another old man replied slowly.

At this very moment, on the distant horizon, the rising sun is slowly illuminating the earth, its light gradually lighting up the entire sky. A new day has begun, and the journey of light continues…

"I don't know what the future holds, but I believe everything is moving in a positive direction, as long as we stay united." The swordsman walked at the front, his tone calm yet full of confidence.

The young messenger looked up at the distant horizon and said softly, "Yes, every step is a new beginning. As long as there is light in our hearts, the future is always full of hope."

As the procession gradually left the village, the villagers' initial excitement turned into a touch of reluctance. They stood at the village entrance, waving their arms and loudly wishing the messengers of light a safe journey.

"Good luck to you! May light accompany you every step of the way!" an elderly villager shouted, his eyes filled with anticipation and pride. The young people around him waved goodbye as well.

Not long after leaving the village, the group stopped to rest at the edge of a dense forest. This was the only road connecting the village to the outside world, surrounded by lush trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves and dappling the ground. It was midday, and the weather was hot, but there was still a hint of coolness in the air.

Several young newcomers chatted and laughed nearby, among whom the young man who had only recently joined the team, Chen Ge (c狠g'e), was particularly striking for his extraordinary demeanor. "Honestly, I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to embark on a journey with such a hero," he shared with his companions. "I feel like a character from a storybook."

Just then, the swordsman suddenly stood up: "Alright everyone, we can't waste any more time. Although this path is full of unknowns, I believe that as long as we work together, there is no problem that cannot be solved." His words were powerful and resonant, as if they infused this journey with boundless strength.

The group nodded in agreement and quickly prepared to continue their journey. Just as they were about to set off, the sound of hooves approached from not far away. Looking up, they saw a troop of cavalrymen in black armor, wielding long spears, galloping towards them. The commander at the head of the troop looked exceptionally imposing.

"Halt! Is that the legendary Order of Light ahead?" the leader asked, tightening the reins. His tone was authoritative yet tinged with curiosity.

"Yes. May I ask what business you have with us?" the archer replied cautiously and politely, while also signaling to those around him to be on their guard.

The other party smiled slightly: "We are a small team that came from a neighboring country to help you fight against the evil forces. After learning about your situation, we rushed here day and night." After speaking, he introduced several team members to everyone present: including Lilith, a scout skilled in reconnaissance; Hag, a heavy weapons expert with immense strength responsible for assault operations; and other outstanding talents.

Upon hearing this, the atmosphere instantly became lively. The young people who had just joined the adventure team were especially excited. "It's fantastic to have such a powerful ally!" exclaimed one of the young men. "That's right! Now we don't have to worry about encountering any difficult enemies!" another girl happily chimed in.

The parties then began further discussions to plan their next steps. Ultimately, they agreed to proceed from their current location until they reached the designated destination, and then make further arrangements based on the specific circumstances.

As night fell, the newly formed team decided to camp for the night. Sitting around the campfire, they chatted and shared their stories and experiences, gradually forging deep friendships. Chen Ge, in particular, quickly became an indispensable part of the team, not only because of his extraordinary intelligence but also because he always provided unexpected help at crucial moments.

Just as everyone was immersed in a pleasant atmosphere, someone suddenly noticed a strange noise not far away. "Look over there, something seems to be coming!" Hag pointed into the distance and whispered a warning.

The others looked in the direction indicated and saw a dark, blurry outline slowly approaching, emanating a chilling aura.

"What...what is that...?" one of the young men stammered, his voice trembling. A strong sense of unease then enveloped the entire camp. Everyone tensed, bracing for what was to come...

The mysterious woman continued to observe the warriors' actions silently, and whispered, "The real test is coming. Only by facing it bravely can your soul grow." Then she turned and disappeared into the night.
