Chapter 54 Ruins

"Yes, no matter the storm, we will march toward the light together." The girl gripped the sacred artifact tightly, her eyes burning with determination.

Just then, a melodious flute tune drifted in from somewhere, piercing the tranquil night sky and adding a touch of mystery to this hopeful night. Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a wandering poet slowly entering the camp, a flute in hand, his eyes gleaming with a longing for stories.

"Great messengers of light, I have heard of your deeds, and I wish to record your journey with songs, so that this light may reach every corner of the world." The poet's voice was gentle and magnetic, and the surrounding villagers involuntarily quieted down, looking forward to his next performance.

"In this land, there once was a town shrouded in long darkness, and people forgot what laughter looked like, until..." As the poet narrated, moving melodies flowed through the air, weaving the past of the messengers of light into a magnificent epic, eliciting gasps of amazement and sighs of regret from the surrounding audience, their emotions fluctuating with the story.

"But light is never afraid of darkness, just as you have shown, using courage and love to ignite every sleeping heart. Tell me, is there any harbinger of the journey ahead, so that this song may pave the way for you in advance?" The poet finished his chanting, bowed deeply to the group of young people, his eyes sparkling with anticipation for the unknown adventure.

The boy lowered his head in thought for a moment, then looked up at the dazzling starry sky, as if searching for something. "Beneath the stars, there lies a forgotten ruin, said to hold ancient secrets powerful enough to alter the balance of the world. Our next step is to unveil its secrets, lest this power fall into the wrong hands."

"Ancient ruins? Those must be full of unknowns and dangers, places that aren't even marked on maps." The elf's tone carried a hint of worry, yet couldn't hide his excitement for the adventure.

“That’s right, but that is our mission: for light, for peace, fearless of any challenge.” The knight’s words were firm and powerful, inspiring everyone.

"Then please allow me to accompany you and record this extraordinary exploration in poetry, so that the world may know the fearless bravery of the messengers of light," the bard earnestly requested, his eyes shining with reverence for the heroes and enthusiasm for the future.

"Welcome, bard. On this radiant path, the song of every soul is an indispensable force." The young man smiled and extended his hand. The bard's eyes sparkled as he excitedly grasped his hand, as if he could already see the great journey about to unfold.

As night deepened, the group sat around the campfire, sharing their stories and dreams. Under the starlight, a warm and resolute glow shone on everyone's face. In this small world bathed in light, every heart found a sense of belonging, and boundless strength was gathered for the unknown journey that lay ahead.

"Tomorrow, when the first rays of sunlight shine upon this land once more, we will set off for those ruins to uncover the secrets buried in history, for the sake of light, for the sake of all life." The girl's words were gentle yet firm, like the brightest star in the night sky, guiding the way forward.

"Towards the light, never stopping." The crowd echoed in unison, their vow resounding through the night sky for a long time.

The next morning, the rising sun arrived as promised, its golden rays bathing the camp and dispelling the chill of the night. The messengers of light prepared to depart, while the villagers gathered around, their eyes filled with reluctance and admiration.

"May the God of Light bless you, warriors!" The village chief's voice trembled as he handed a bouquet of flowers to the girl. The fragrance of the flowers seemed to carry the blessings of the entire village.

"Thank you for your support. We will bring the light back!" The girl smiled and held the bouquet tightly. At that moment, she was not only a warrior, but also the hope in everyone's hearts.

The procession slowly set off, and the bard's flute began to play at just the right moment. The lively melody accompanied their steps, like a horn, encouraging them to move forward with every step. Along the way, they encountered many passersby, all of whom were attracted by this extraordinary procession, stopping to discuss it amongst themselves.

“Look, it’s the messengers of light! I hear they’re heading to unknown ruins to uncover ancient secrets,” a farmer whispered to the woman beside him, his eyes filled with awe.

“What a brave bunch! May their path be smooth,” the woman replied, gently making the sign of the cross in prayer for them.

As the procession moved, it passed through a market. The conversations between vendors and customers abruptly ceased as they turned to look at this extraordinary group. A little boy broke free from his mother's hand, ran to the front of the procession, and asked curiously, "Big brothers and sisters, are you going to fight monsters? Like the heroes in the legends?"

The boy leaned down and smiled gently, "Pretty much. We need to protect this world from being swallowed by darkness. You have to be brave too, maybe you can become a hero someday."

The little boy's eyes shone with admiration: "I want to be a messenger of light too!"

"That's ambitious! Remember, no matter what, always keep the light in your heart." The boy's encouraging words made him nod excitedly, his face flushed with emotion.

Leaving the market, the caravan continued its journey, passing through dense forests and over towering mountains. At each stop, different passersby expressed their amazement and support for their adventure. The bards wove these moments into songs, which they shared with everyone as night fell around the campfire.

"In the endless darkness, they are the inextinguishable flame, illuminating the path forward and awakening the sleeping courage..." His singing seemed to have magic, not only soothing the traveler's weariness but also spreading the belief of the messengers of light.

Finally, on a moonlit night with few stars, the outline of the ancient ruins faintly appeared on the horizon. Its existence seemed like a crack in time, revealing an ancient and mysterious aura.

“We’ve arrived.” The boy gazed ahead, his eyes firm yet complex. “A power capable of changing the world is hidden here; we must proceed with caution.”

"No matter what happens, we will fight side by side." The knight's promise united everyone even more.

"Towards the light, we move forward without fear." The girl whispered their vow, her eyes burning with an unprecedented determination.

Just then, a gust of wind blew by, and a deep echo seemed to come from the depths of the ruins, like an ancient call, foreshadowing the trials and challenges to come.

"It seems our adventure has only just begun." The bard put away his flute, his eyes filled with both curiosity about the unknown and boundless anticipation for the story to come.

As night deepened and all was silent, only the figures of the messengers of light remained, resolutely heading into the unknown depths, leaving behind a silhouette full of suspense and anticipation.

"What will happen next?"
