Chapter 65 Giving

"Mommy, what is true light?" the little girl continued to ask, her eyes sparkling with curiosity about the unknown world.

“True light is when the world gives you darkness, you can plant a star in your heart, let it light your way, and warm others,” the mother replied, her eyes full of tenderness and determination.

The village gossip didn't stop after the group left; instead, it spread like wildfire. A passing traveler, resting at an inn, heard about the story and joined the discussion: "In the far north, there's an ancient legend that whoever finds the Book of Wisdom will gain the power to change the world. Their journey might not be as simple as just finding books."

"Yes, if that's the case, our little village might also undergo a transformation. Just thinking about it is exciting." The innkeeper wiped the cups, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Meanwhile, on the other side of this adventure, the team led by the Lightbringer and the New Woman encountered unprecedented challenges in the Forgotten Forest. The dense forest was entangled with vines and shrouded in mist, making every step exceptionally difficult. A seemingly ordinary farmer, panting heavily, said, "This place is even more terrifying than the legends say, but we cannot back down. For the sake of the light, we must move forward."

Suddenly, a strange melody echoed through the forest, and a group of strange creatures surrounded them, their eyes gleaming with an eerie light in the darkness. A young man, a former bard, said with a mix of nervousness and humor, "It seems our arrival has disturbed their peace. Perhaps I should sing a song to appease these guardians of the forest."

As the melodious song began, the strange creatures gradually quieted down and made way for them. Exclamations of amazement rippled through the group, and even the usually composed Lightbringer couldn't help but smile: "Music truly is a language that transcends races."

And so, relying on their wisdom and courage, they resolved crises time and time again, and the bonds between the team grew ever stronger. One evening, sitting around the campfire, an elderly woman said with deep emotion, “Before, I thought that light only existed in the hearts of heroes high above, but now I realize that it also burns in the hearts of ordinary people like us.”

The new woman gazed at the leaping flames and slowly spoke: "That's exactly it. Only when the light in everyone's heart comes together can it illuminate the whole world."

After overcoming countless hardships, they finally found the legendary Book of Wisdom in the deepest part of the Forgotten Forest. As the messenger of light carefully turned the pages, the ancient text emitted a soft light, as if shining directly into everyone's heart.

"So, light means not only fearlessness and strength, but also acceptance and understanding, harmony in opposition, and finding each other's hands even in darkness," the messenger of light murmured, his eyes sparkling with unprecedented understanding.

Just as everyone was immersed in the mysteries of the book, a series of hurried footsteps approached from afar, and a panicked boy ran up: "Something terrible has happened! The village has been attacked by unknown creatures! Please go back immediately!"

The Lightbringer exchanged a glance with the new woman, and without hesitation, immediately decided to return. "The real trial has only just begun," the Lightbringer's words, like a clarion call, inspired everyone.

The team quickly packed up and set off on their return journey. And that very night, as the last embers of the campfire died down and the forest returned to silence, only one sentence remained, seemingly foreshadowing endless possibilities for the future—

"No matter how difficult the road ahead may be, as long as there is light in our hearts, we have the ability to protect everything we cherish and create a bright era that belongs to us."

On the way back to the village, the group's steps were more determined than when they had come; the safety of the villagers weighed heavily on everyone's hearts. Along the way, they encountered several villagers fleeing the disaster, their faces filled with fear and helplessness.

“It’s you, messengers of light! I heard you found the Book of Wisdom, is that true?” a young woman asked in a trembling voice.

The messenger of light nodded, his eyes gentle yet resolute: "It is true. We are returning with wisdom, vowing to protect our home."

The villagers' eyes lit up instantly, as if they had seen a glimmer of hope. An old man clenched his fist and whispered excitedly, "It seems the legend wasn't lying; the light will truly return."

Back at the edge of the village, the sight before them made everyone gasp. The village was shrouded in a black mist, and roars echoed intermittently from monsters they had never seen before. In the group, a middle-aged man, a former warrior, gripped his weapon tightly, his teeth clenched: "Prepare for battle, for our homeland!"

Just as everyone was poised to act, a soft voice broke the tension: "Wait, let's solve this with wisdom, not force." The new woman suggested, her eyes gleaming with intelligence.

At her suggestion, the Lightbringer used the knowledge he had learned from the Book of Wisdom to guide everyone in building a radiant barrier. This barrier not only dispelled the black mist but also revealed the true forms of the attacking monsters—they were actually innocent creatures under the influence of dark forces.

“Look, they are not inherently evil, they are just being manipulated,” the Lightbringer said to the crowd, as he stretched out a hand, trying to communicate with the monster that was closest to him.

This scene shocked all the villagers and team members present, who witnessed the true meaning of the power of light—understanding and inclusion. A young villager murmured to himself, "So, light can be used like this... It's incredible."

After much effort, they successfully lifted the dark curse from the monsters, and the creatures returned to their docile state. The villagers came out of their homes, looking at the scene before them with both surprise and emotion.

“Messenger of Light, you not only brought us light, but also taught us to look at problems in a different way.” The village chief stepped forward, tears streaming down his face.

As night fell, the villagers held a grand celebration for the procession. By the campfire, the messenger of light and the new woman sat side by side, watching the laughing crowd around the fire.

“It seems that the Book of Wisdom has not only changed us, but has also influenced the entire village,” the new woman said with a smile.

The Messenger of Light nodded in agreement: "Yes, but this is only the beginning. The true Age of Light requires the light in everyone's heart to converge and continuously illuminate this world."

Just then, a child ran up, his eyes sparkling with admiration: "Big brother and sister, will you go to more places and bring more light?"

The messenger of light bent down and gently stroked the child's head: "As long as there are places in the world that need light, we will be there. But remember, child, everyone can be a messenger of light in their own life."

The child's eyes widened, and he nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite. Laughter and conversation mingled around them, creating the most beautiful melody of the night. Just as the conversation subsided, the messenger of light and the new woman exchanged a smile, seemingly silently planning their next adventure.

"So, where is the next stop?" the new woman asked softly.

The messenger of light gazed into the distance, his eyes shining with determination and longing: "Wherever there is darkness waiting to be illuminated, we will go. For this is our mission."
