Chapter 149 Frozen

"Cheers!" The four glasses clinked together, making a crisp sound. It was not just a celebration, but also a promise to embark on an unknown journey.

"Wait a minute, the frozen land you're talking about, could it be the legendary realm guarded by the snow giants?" In a corner of the tavern, a traveler wearing a leather hat put down his beer and curiously approached.

"Snow Giant? That kind of creature that only exists in campfire stories?" Sam raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued.

“It’s true. I have an uncle who wandered into that area when he was young. He claims to have seen a huge figure, appearing and disappearing in the blizzard, strong enough to shatter solid ice with a single punch.” The traveler lowered his voice, and the people around him couldn’t help but look at each other, the atmosphere becoming subtle and tense.

“If that’s the case, our journey will probably be even more difficult.” Amy frowned, but then gave a mischievous smile. “But that’s what adventure is all about, isn’t it? The more impossible it seems, the more we have to try.”

“That’s right!” Jack agreed, his eyes gleaming with a challenge. “The legend of the Snow Giant is a perfect test of our limits. Besides, if the third ray of light is really hidden there, it must possess the key power to help us fight against the shadows.”

Inside the tavern, other patrons began to whisper amongst themselves. Hope and his companions' story ignited the adventurous spirit within everyone. An old man stroked his long beard and slowly said, "When I was young, I also dreamed of exploring the unknown, and it seems that passion has not yet been extinguished. Brave travelers, may the wind guide your path."

“Thank you for your blessing, sir.” Hope nodded in thanks, then turned to his companion, “Are you ready? We’ll set off north first thing tomorrow morning to search for the mystery of the ice.”

"I can't wait any longer!" Elena clenched her fist, brimming with confidence.

"Remember to bring your thickest fur coat; the cold up north is no joke," Sam reminded him, already starting to consider practical preparations.

As night deepened, Hope and his group left the tavern amidst the envious or awe-inspiring gazes of the onlookers. Their long shadows stretched out in the moonlight, as if foreshadowing the long journey they were about to embark on.

"The frozen lands of the North, the snow giants... I can't wait to see them." Amy gazed up at the starry sky, her voice filled with longing for the unknown.

“Yes, and hopefully our wisdom and courage will continue to guide us forward,” Hope replied softly, her eyes shining with determination.

"No matter what happens, remember, we are a team." Elena patted everyone on the shoulder, and strength and warmth were passed between the team.

"Of course, after going through the desert together, what's a glacier?" Jack laughed, the relaxed atmosphere easing the impending severe challenge.

They stopped at the town entrance, gazing at the road stretching northward into the night, where the starlight seemed even brighter, as if guiding their way.

"Then let us set off again, for the light, for hope." Hope's words were not only an encouragement to the team, but also a declaration of the adventure to come.

"Heading towards the frozen land!" Amy, Elena, and Jack responded in unison, their voices echoing through the night sky, full of strength and determination.

As night fell, the four figures gradually disappeared at the end of the road, leaving behind endless imagination and anticipation, and an unfinished story...

"Hey, do you think they can really find the Snow Giant?" Inside the tavern, two young men were still arguing.

"Who knows? But one thing is certain: their story is destined to become a legend." The bartender smiled slightly, wiped the last glass clean, and looked out at the boundless night, his heart also stirred.

"Hey, did you hear? Those four guys really went north, saying they're looking for the Snow Giant and some third ray of light," a fruit and vegetable vendor said to an old man mending fishing nets next to him at the town's market.

The old man looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes: "Snow Giant? That's a legend that no one dares to even hear about. These little guys are quite bold."

"Yes, I saw them yesterday evening when they left. They were all like they were on steroids, especially that red-haired girl, she walked with a swagger." A woman selling spices joined the conversation, skillfully weighing various spices in her hands.

"Hehe, young people should always have a bit of an adventurous spirit. But speaking of which, our town hasn't had anything this exciting in a long time. Nobody would believe it if I told them, a snow giant! Haha." In front of the blacksmith's shop, the burly blacksmith wiped the longsword in his hand, a smile on his lips.

Just as the crowd was buzzing with discussion, the sound of rapid hoofbeats broke the market's clamor. A young man who looked like a postman rode up, stopped in front of the notice board, and quickly posted a notice. The crowd immediately swarmed around him, eagerly reading it.

"It's said the weather up north has gotten even worse, and even the most experienced hunters are reluctant to venture there. This poster says it's the latest news about those young men!" A sharp-eyed teenager squeezed through the crowd and announced loudly.

"Look, there's a drawing! This is... the outline of the Frozen Land? And... a huge figure!" A chorus of exclamations erupted from the crowd.

"They really found traces of the Snow Giant?! That's incredible!" An old man adjusted his glasses and carefully examined the rough but dynamic sketch.

“Hey, look here, there’s another message.” A young apprentice pointed to the bottom of the notice and read it aloud, word by word: “At the end of ice and wind, we have encountered an unprecedented challenge. The Snow Giant is neither enemy nor friend. The secret it guards may be the truth of the world. Please wait for us to return with the light.” Signed: Hope, Amy, Elena, Jack.

The people in the market were silent for a moment, then erupted into a more heated discussion. Some looked envious, some were deeply worried, and others had a spark of eager anticipation in their eyes.

"They are a crazy and brave bunch of young people," the old man mending the fishing net exclaimed.

"Crazy? No, I think they're just more willing than most of us to pursue seemingly impossible dreams." The blacksmith's smile faded, and his tone became more solemn.

“That’s right,” the fruit and vegetable vendor nodded in agreement. “Whether or not they can find the secret of the Snow Giant, at least their story has given us all a kind of strength, which is that no matter how cold the world is, there will always be people who are willing to explore and discover.”

Night fell again, and the town returned to its tranquility, but a fire burned in everyone's heart—a yearning for the unknown and a deep blessing for Hope and his companions. Inside the tavern, the old man reappeared, stroking his beard, and said to the bartender beside him, "Their journey will surely surpass our imagination. And we are fortunate to witness the beginning of this legend."

The bartender smiled, poured a glass of wine, and handed it to the old man: "Yes, the world is more wonderful because of them. I hope they can return safely and unravel all the mysteries for us."

The two raised their glasses and gently clinked them together, causing slight ripples on the surface of the liquid, just like the adventure that was about to sweep across the entire continent, which was quietly changing everything.
