Chapter 26 Presenting a Banner to the School

Amidst the shocked gazes of the doctor and Zhou Ya, Zhou Shengren flaunted his confident stride and even bounced a couple of times, indicating that he was fully recovered.

The doctor rubbed his eyes, making sure it wasn't a hallucination, picked up the landline on the table, and dialed the hospital director's number:

"Director Li, what is it?"

"Dean, it's a miracle! A man in his sixties with a broken leg bone recovered to the point where he can walk again in less than a month. I'm a little unsure, could you please come and take a look?"

Zhou Shengren waved his hand impatiently: "What are you looking at? I'm busy. Xiaoya, let's go."

Zhou Ya couldn't believe what was happening before her eyes. She hoped the hospital could give her a scientific explanation: "Dad, let the hospital director take another look. That way, I can feel at ease going home."

A few minutes later, the hospital director, who was in his sixties, entered the orthopedic clinic with several medical experts.

The hospital director recognized Zhou Shengren and quickly greeted him, "Mr. Zhou, I heard you've recovered. Congratulations! Let me examine you again."

Zhou Shengren said helplessly, "Alright."

Zhou Shengren sat down in the chair as instructed by the dean, who then squatted down and carefully felt Zhou Shengren's leg bone with his hands, murmuring, "It has indeed healed, and there are no abnormalities."

The hospital director stood up and asked, "Mr. Zhou, besides the treatment you received at our hospital, have you undergone any other treatments?"

Zhou Ya replied, "No, we've only received treatment here. After all, this is the best hospital in the city."

Have you eaten or used anything unusual recently?

"Nothing special." Zhou Ya recalled that everything at home had been normal recently, with no abnormalities.

Zhou Shengren suddenly remembered the wooden box Lin An had given him. He had slept with it for three days, and his legs started to feel better from that day on. He felt his legs had strength from the first day. However, as far as he knew, although the wooden box was a sacred object of an ancient country and had the effect of blessing, there was no record of it having any healing effects.

He then remembered the palm-sized note in the wooden box. Lin An had mentioned it was some kind of talisman when he gave it to him, but at the time, his mind was focused on the box and he hadn't paid it any attention.

"Xiaoya, do you remember what the note in the antique box Lin An gave me said?"

Zhou Ya recalled: "I remember he seemed to say that it was a health talisman he drew himself."

The dean said, "Health talisman? There are indeed some inexplicable things in this world. Mr. Zhou is very lucky; he may have really met some master."

Zhou Shengren stood up excitedly: "Lin An, it must be Lin An, he is my destiny's benefactor! Xiaoya, where does Lin An go to school?"

"It should be No. 12 Middle School."

Zhou Shengren felt the school sounded familiar: "Is it the middle school where we donated to build a library?"

"Yes, it was donated by the group's headquarters eight years ago."

“I remember now, their principal’s surname is Chen. Xiaoya, let’s go to the school now to thank Lin An. Tell Secretary Zhao to make a banner to thank Lin An and send it to the school within half an hour.”

Zhou Ya was worried that her father's grand visit to the school might affect Lin An's studies: "Dad, isn't this a bit too extravagant? Why don't we find a private opportunity to thank Lin An?"

“How can that be? What have I always taught you? In business, you should express gratitude early and do it in a grand way.” Zhou Shengren said in a hearty tone.

After saying that, Zhou Shengren led Zhou Ya out of the clinic in a hurry, and a group of doctors behind them began to chatter about this medical miracle.

The Zhou father and daughter did not notice that a gloomy-looking teenager was standing outside the consultation room; it was Lin Zhe, who was observing the situation.

Lin Rou, the older sister, and Lin Haoran, the father, were accompanying Zhang Wanru to have an electrocardiogram. Lin Zhe, being an adult man, couldn't go in, so he stayed in the corridor. Seeing the dean and his group hurrying by, driven by curiosity, he followed them and discovered that it was President Zhou. He then eavesdropped at the door and, to his surprise, overheard something about Lin An.

Watching Zhou Shengren's departing figure, Lin Zhe's face hardened with a ruthless expression. He absolutely could not allow Lin An to successfully climb up the Zhou family's social ladder.

Lin Zhe understands Lin Haoran; only the most core interests can sway him. Lin An has already demonstrated extraordinary learning ability. If he also has commercial value, Lin Haoran will probably rush to bring Lin An back, and then there will probably be no place for him in the Lin family.

Lin Zhe pondered how to smear Lin An in front of the Zhou family. He was determined to do everything in his power to discredit Lin An, even if it affected the Lin family business. He didn't care about the Lin family's business development; what good was it if he wasn't the heir? Ideally, the Lin family would announce that they had severed ties with Lin An, cutting off any possibility of reconciliation within the family.

After Zhang Wanru finished her examination, she was found to be fine. Seeing her worried expression, the doctor reminded her:

"Psychological factors can also cause chest pain, so it's important to keep a positive mood."

"Okay, thank you, doctor."

The three of them left the consultation room and ran into Lin Zhe, who had just returned from eavesdropping. Seeing that he looked uneasy, Lin Haoran asked:

"What's wrong, Xiao Zhe?"

Lin Zhe stammered, "Mom and Dad, I don't know how to say it."

"Xiao Zhe, just say what you have to say. Your sister is here, what are you afraid of?" Lin Rou couldn't stand seeing Lin Zhe suffer.

"It seems my brother has gotten into big trouble. I just saw President Zhou in the corridor. I heard that my brother gave him some kind of talisman and tricked President Zhou into believing that his leg was healed because of the talisman he drew. The doctor just exposed him, and it seems that President Zhou is going to confront him."

"What? How did he get involved in these crooked and evil ways?" Lin Rou asked in surprise.

Zhang Wanru said to Lin Haoran with great concern, "Honey, Lin An's skills in deceiving people are getting better and better. He's even managed to fool someone as important as Zhou Shengren. What are we going to do?"

"The Zhou family is no ordinary family. Isn't he courting death?"

Hearing what the mother and daughter said, Lin Haoran agreed wholeheartedly. He thought that Lin An's attempt to get close to a big boss like Zhou Shengren using metaphysics was like walking a tightrope, which was extremely dangerous. Now that President Zhou knew he had been fooled, the entire Lin family would suffer as a result.

Seeing this, Lin Zhe continued to stir things up: "Mom and Dad, I heard from President Zhou that he's going to the school to find Lin An and teach him a lesson."

Zhang Wanru felt a sharp pain in her chest. Supporting Lin Haoran, she pleaded, "Honey, let's go to the school quickly. Lin An is just a wild child from the countryside, he doesn't know his place. If we go and persuade him to apologize to President Zhou, maybe there's still room for negotiation. Xiao Zhe and Xiao Xi are studying at the same school as him. If this causes a scene, there will be a lot of gossip at the school, and how will the two children continue their studies?"

Lin Haoran nodded: "Going to school is a small matter, but it would be troublesome if it affected the family business. Let's go to the school now. Even if President Zhou doesn't forgive him, we can make it clear on the spot that we are cutting ties with him and avoid being implicated."

Lin Rou realized that words alone weren't enough, so she quickly asked, "Yes, Mom, did you bring that severance agreement with you?"

"Ah, I didn't bring it, I left it at home." Zhang Wanru looked blank; how could she have such a thing on her?

Lin Zhe interjected, "Mom and Dad, it's okay. I have a photo of the agreement on my phone; it's the same thing."

"Okay, let's hurry up and go," Lin Haoran urged anxiously.

No one noticed why Lin Zhe kept this on his phone; he valued this written evidence more than anyone else in the Lin family.

When Zhou Shengren arrived at the school, Secretary Zhao and Principal Chen were already waiting at the entrance of the teaching building with a banner. The black Bentley slowly came to a stop.

Principal Chen quickly stepped forward to open the car door for Zhou Shengren, gesturing for him to enter. He thought to himself that if this "god of wealth" was in a good mood, he might donate something to the school.

"Mr. Zhou, welcome to visit and provide guidance."

Zhou Shengren got out of the car and shook hands with the principal: "Principal Chen, you're too kind. I'm here to thank your senior student Lin An."

"Secretary Zhao already told me that you could come into my office and wait while I call Lin An over."

"good."

The group walked towards the principal's office, while students in the building peered out of their windows and saw the Bentley making a lot of noise.

"Wow, it seems like a big shot has come to our school."

"Could it be the parent of some rich kid or princess?"

"That's amazing! The principal personally received us."

"Quiet down, everyone back to your seats, get back to your work." Teacher Li from Class 7 of Senior Three was busy restoring classroom discipline.

As soon as she finished speaking, her phone vibrated. She answered the phone, and Principal Chen's voice came through: "Have Lin An come to my office."

The principal's voice was loud and clear, and the students in the first two rows could hear it clearly.

"Lin An, Principal Chen wants to go to his office. Go quickly."

Lin An reluctantly put down his book. Lately, people have been coming to see him, and he can't concentrate on his studies. He walked out of the classroom amidst his classmates' chatter, while his classmates behind him kept speculating about his relationship with the Bentley owner.

"Could Lin An be a rich young master?"
