Chapter 19: I have a responsibility to find my sister in place of my parents.

Because of Yu Ting's matter, Jian Yu spent half the night scrolling through her phone, watching news about Zhi Ting Group.

Given how things have developed, Zhao Zhi probably wouldn't dare to touch Yu Ting again.

Yu Ting is currently in the ICU, and I heard that family members are only allowed to visit her for a few minutes each day in the ICU.

For Yu Ting's safety, Yu Hao will definitely keep an eye on Zhao Zhi and prevent him from visiting her.

So, during the daily visiting hours, either Yu Hao goes in or the time is left free.

Jian Yu saw a doctor yesterday and is feeling much better, but she still needs to go for a few more days.

Jian Yu didn't want to run into the Yu family, so she went to another hospital.

When Yu Hao got home from get off work, it was already very late. He didn't see Qi Yuexi at first and assumed she was still at school busy with Jian Yu's affairs. "Has Madam returned?"

"Madam returned this afternoon and is now upstairs resting."

Yu Hao opened the door and found Qi Yuexi putting on a face mask. He immediately looked displeased. "Did you find out where Jian Yu is?"

Qi Yuexi had a thick face mask on, making it inconvenient for her to speak, so she just waved her hands twice.

Yu Hao said irritably, "Then why did you come back so early?"

Qi Yuexi had already guessed that Yu Hao would criticize her when he returned, but she was too lazy to argue at the moment and closed her eyes to continue enjoying her beauty treatment.

Yu Hao was completely enraged by her indifferent attitude. "You don't go to the hospital to see Yu Ting, and you don't care where Jian Yu is. What exactly do you want?"

This was the first time Qi Yuexi had been verbally abused by Yu Hao. She was stunned for a moment before sitting up. "I didn't hit Yu Ting, so why are you taking it out on me?"

Yu Hao hadn't expected Qi Yuexi to react so strongly. After the initial shock, he became even more furious. "Yu Ting suffered such serious injuries, aren't you even a little bit sad?"

Qi Yuexi almost blurted out "Of course," but thankfully she reacted quickly and changed her words, "Instead of going to cause trouble for Zhao Zhi, all you do is bully me?"

Yu Hao had been arguing with Zhao Zhi all day and wanted to teach him a lesson. Now, being criticized by Qi Yuexi, he was so angry that he could hardly speak.

"You're really something. I'm working myself to the bone outside, and you don't have to worry about anything at home."

“Where haven’t I worried? If the children hadn’t been worried about me, would they be so outstanding? You didn’t say that when Yu Cheng was studying abroad on a government scholarship.”

“Yu Cheng’s education has nothing to do with you; that’s what your parents did. Yu Yao and Yu Ze’s education is all following in Yu Cheng’s footsteps. The only one you’re worried about is Jian Yu. And what’s the result? Jian Yu has been on leave from school for several months, and you don’t even know where she is. If you don’t know, why don’t you hurry up and send someone to look for her?”

"You told me to look for it, why aren't you looking? You are..."

Qi Yuexi was furious. She raised her voice, ready to argue, when a familiar figure suddenly appeared out of the corner of her eye.

"Dad, Mom..."

Yu Hao and Qi Yuexi were both taken aback. "Yu Cheng? How did you get back?"

Yu Cheng stood at the door, with Aunt Li carrying his suitcase and following behind.

Yu Cheng had never seen his parents argue like this before, and a hint of worry appeared in his eyes. "Are you arguing?"

Yu Hao and Qi Yuexi both shook their heads. "No, it's just that they were speaking a little too loudly."

Yu Cheng seemed unconvinced, but simply nodded in agreement. "How is Auntie?"

"You've come back to see your aunt?"

Qi Yuexi felt a pang of jealousy. Yu Cheng had always been attached to Yu Ting since he was a child, and for a time, their relationship was even closer than that of her, his mother.

Yesterday, Yu Ting was in a car accident. Qi Yuexi was worried that Yu Cheng would be very upset, so she didn't let anyone inform him.

Worried that Yu Ze might let something slip, they decided not to tell any of the three children.

Yu Cheng said, "I chatted with my aunt yesterday but couldn't find her. She didn't reply this morning either. My aunt has never done this before, so I called her home phone. The nanny told me what happened, and after hearing it, I bought a plane ticket and came back."

Yu Hao was somewhat relieved; his sister's love for Yu Cheng hadn't been in vain. He stepped forward and gently patted Yu Cheng's shoulder. "Your aunt is still in the ICU, and we don't know when she'll be able to come out. Now that you're back, you should rest well. There will be a ten-minute family visit tomorrow; go in and see her."

Yu Cheng nodded. "I just heard you say that Jian Yu is missing?"

Yu Hao paused for a moment before withdrawing his hand. "Jian Yu has dropped out of school and we don't know where she is now. I asked your mother to ask her classmates, but she refused."

Qi Yuexi felt that Yu Hao was complaining to Yu Cheng, criticizing her for being a terrible mother.

"Why didn't I go? I talked a lot with her counselor. Her personality is terrible, no classmates want to hang out with her, and of course, nobody knows where she is. Besides, when Jian Yu wanted to cut ties with us, you didn't stop her, did you?"

Being criticized by Qi Yuexi in front of Yu Cheng made Yu Hao feel utterly humiliated. "She's a girl, and you're her mother. Can't you be like other mothers and show more care for your daughter?"

Seeing that his parents were about to start arguing again, Yu Cheng quickly said, "Tomorrow after I go to the hospital, I'll go to Jian Yu's school and ask her classmates about her."

Since his parents were unwilling to search for her, Yu Cheng felt it was his responsibility to find his younger sister on their behalf.

Qi Yuexi immediately objected, "No way."

Yu Hao agreed, "I think it's a good idea. We can't keep letting Jian Yu stay outside all the time."

Qi Yuexi felt that Jian Yu's school ranking was too low, and for a prodigy like Yu Cheng, going there would only lower his standards. Therefore, she firmly opposed Yu Cheng going there. "I will contact a private investigator tomorrow and have them look for him. After Yu Cheng visits your aunt tomorrow, he should go back to continue his classes. His studies are so demanding; he can't afford to be delayed for too long."

Yu Cheng said, "I have completed my credits a year ahead of schedule and am currently preparing my graduation thesis. I can stay at home during this time."

A hint of joy appeared in Yu Hao's eyes. "Great, great. Things have been so busy at home lately. It's good that you're here to help out."

Yu Cheng thought the same thing, "I want to help my aunt take the company back."

Yu Hao put his arm around Yu Cheng's shoulder and walked out. "Dad will tell you about your aunt's company so you can have a general understanding. When we get to the company, you can ask the staff to tell you the specifics."

"Um."

Qi Yuexi stood in the room, her eyes bloodshot with anger.

If it weren't for the thick layer of mud on her face, Aunt Li felt her face would be as black as charcoal. With her head down, Aunt Li pulled her suitcase and strode to catch up with Yu Hao and the other person.

Qi Yuexi had lost all interest in continuing to apply the face mask. She quickly washed off the mud mask and sat alone on the sofa, sulking.
