Chapter 175
Hanik looked at the grinning boy and his expression twitched.
One of the Guardians, or rather, the chief among the Guardians. Second only to the Three Sages.
Mu Xin, as a true wood elf, is one of the weapons of the elven race.
"So what are you here for?" Hanik looked at its face, then turned to look at the little spider that had gotten up again.
“I’m informing you that the Saints have arrived in our Spirit Forest.” It glanced at Hanik: “No matter how you intend to end this, you’d better hurry. This labyrinth can’t stop the Saints.”
"Is it someone from the church again?" Hanik looked a little displeased. "Why is it here?"
“Because of the people in front of you, I’ve inquired about them. The fox is her follower, and the spider is her boyfriend’s friend.” At this point, Mu Xin paused, staring intently at the black clump of mud behind the spider.
Noni was ultimately transformed into a dragon and blasted by magic, and had also been cut open before, leaving him completely weakened. However, Mu Xin found his origins somewhat perplexing and simply smiled with amusement.
Then he stopped smiling and looked into the distance.
"Interested in helping to resolve this issue?" Mu Xin paused and said, "That guy from the church got into a conflict with the gatekeeper, Big Wooden Head."
......
Benny looked up at the giant wood sprite, its entire body engulfed in flames, its icy blue eyes fixed intently on her amidst the inferno.
Yak was behind her, unsure how to stop her.
They had only just learned that Little Spider, Deedrie, and Little White had been imprisoned in this alternate dimension as dangerous creatures. However, if they hadn't entered through the entrance they had been tricked into, they would have had to come from the main gate of the maze.
The Elf King tried to dissuade this creature, but to no avail. It was an ancient relic left over from the last war between the Church and the Demon King's army, and it harbored a deep-seated hatred for the Church.
It even got to the point where he would get angry if he saw the messenger in the Spirit Forest, so he became a guardian and guarded the gates of this labyrinth.
"Ice? Fire or Wood?" Benedict seemed completely unfazed by its earlier provocations, simply looking at it curiously: "Or is it a combination of all three?"
Without any explanation, the huge tree hollow suddenly burst into flames. Ark and the Elf King wisely retreated, partly because they couldn't stop the fire, and partly because they needed to prevent it from spreading.
The enormous fire tree slammed its massive claws down in front of her, whipping up waves that tossed her hair. Two eyes, one large and one small, stared at each other, and a roar echoed through the sky.
"Your temper is definitely fire-based." Benny stood in the sea of flames, completely unconcerned about the flames licking her. "Could you please move aside? We're here to see a friend."
"Your friends are all safe and sound." A cool female voice suddenly rang out, and Benny glanced at the ice-like girl who had appeared there at some point.
The advantage of elves lies in their elemental nature and the skills they have honed through long-term training.
“I remember you had another one, a mud monster too. The three of you guardians often acted together.” Benny shook her head, looking at them: “You haven’t improved much, you’re still the same as before.”
The fireball hurtled toward her the moment she finished speaking, but it didn't last even a second. Benny simply waved her hand, and the flames that could have burned through rocks were dispelled.
"I told you you haven't improved." She slowly made a clenched fist gesture from behind to the front, holding a golden greatsword in her hand.
It was a pure golden holy sword, like a giant cross.
The surrounding flames were instantly dispelled, and the corresponding substitute was an astonishing amount of holy magic.
A golden ring appeared behind her, and at that moment, it was as if heaven had opened and angels had descended upon the world. In the distant sky, it seemed as if someone was singing a hymn.
“Get out of my way, or I’ll chop you up,” Benny said softly. “I have no patience for you.”
She tilted her head, and a bright green spear grazed her head and stuck behind her. The boy stood in front of her, surrounded by a green halo.
"My lord, this is a provocation," Mu Xin said with a smile.
The ground began to shake, and sand and gravel surged forth; it was a stone man rising from the abyss.
Benny looked around, then raised her hand, pulled out the spear stuck behind her, and snapped it in two.
"Only guardians? I'm being underestimated." Benny looked at Mu Xin standing in front of her: "Just you, the Demon King?"
Mu Xin's expression stiffened for a moment, but she still smiled and said, "There's at least one more."
That's Harnik. He's appeared in the corner at some point, watching Benny over there.
Three chaotic calamities, two demon kings.
But the saints standing there seemed completely unconcerned, as if what stood before them was something they had nothing to fear.
Because she wasn't looking at them at all, but at the little spider carrying Deedris and the little white creature that Lilith was crouching over.
"They look quite disheveled," she said casually, showing no concern for them, then turned to look at Ark behind her and said, "Your friends are all still alive, they don't seem to be going to die anytime soon."
“We have returned your friend as he was,” the Ice Maiden said softly. “We have taken back your holy power; we have no intention of clashing with the Church.”
“I had a feeling from the beginning that you’ve misunderstood something.” Benny glanced at them sideways. “Don’t you really think the person standing here poses a threat to me?”
This is blatant provocation. The atmosphere had eased slightly because of the return of the little spiders, but now it's tense again.
The Elf King simply stood there, showing no anger or other emotion what had just happened.
“Benny, that’s enough. We’re guests, not here to cause trouble,” Ark said. He had only come to see Spider-Man and had no intention of starting a conflict.
“I just think some people have a misunderstanding.” Benny glanced at them and then sighed. “The Church doesn’t want to deal with you just because of appeasement. If this makes you think we’re avoiding conflict because we’re afraid of you, I suggest you give up that idea as soon as possible.”
She pointed to herself with her left hand, then planted the greatsword in the stone in front of her, and swept her superior gaze over the demons and monsters standing before her.
"You are nothing but stray dogs, don't even think you've gained any influence. Trying to put pressure on the church? Don't you think that's a bit too arrogant?"
Countless blades swept over Benny in an instant, while at the same time, flames and cold air gathered and exploded around her.
“I’m sorry, she’s been in a bad mood lately.” Ark looked at the Elf King, who stood expressionless beside him. “At least we, excluding Benny, have no intention of offending her.”
"It's alright, she is Eight-Colored Glass, I was prepared for her arrival long ago." The Elf King glanced at the person behind him: "Thank you for your trouble."
It was a tall, slender creature. It didn't speak, but simply held its long-withered hand deep inside.
A beam of azure light suddenly shone from its pupils, as if a giant curtain had been drawn down from the sky, enveloping them within it.
Inside the curtain, Benny raised her greatsword high.
The damage that occurred just a moment ago seemed to have no effect, but her movement of raising the sword was too slow. In just a moment, her whole body was covered with wounds.
In the blink of an eye, those wounds seemed as if they had never appeared.
Cold sweat trickled down Mu Xin's forehead; she truly hadn't expected a fight to actually break out.
At the same time, I did feel anger.
Who did she think she was? There were two Demon Kings and three Chaos Calamities here! She was all alone.
This is Ling Sen, their home turf. Where does this arrogant outsider get his confidence?
Its sleeves opened, and vines rapidly grew from its arms. At the same time they touched the ground, a forest formed beneath its feet.
His ability is named Life, and Mu Xin can directly imbue matter with life. At the same time, as long as there are living things within his domain, he can be resurrected in the presence of living things even after he dies.
The so-called resurrection includes the consumption of magic power, which means that it can consume its own magic power without any concern.
And all living beings will restore his magic.
Its radius is 100 meters, while this is Ling Sen, so it's 1,000 meters.
As the leader among the guardians, it does indeed possess corresponding abilities.
It would be a grave mistake for the Church to believe that the reported combat strength represents the entirety of Ling Sen's power, because even so, it is merely a guardian, not one of the Three Sages.
It's because Hanik's domain has reached a range of 300 meters. In the battle just now, he could have killed those younger ones at any time if he wanted to.
Mu Xin listened to the sound of the wind; it was the sound of blades, countless blades. Anything would be cut in two the moment it made contact, moving at will, without even consuming any energy.
"May my ancestors grant me courage," Mu Xin said softly. The vines fell from his arms, and he grabbed a spear that had appeared beside him at some unknown time. "Give the invaders the punishment they deserve. This is a place where spirits dwell in peace, not a place for you!"
The magic surged forth, and the moment the spear was thrown, a sonic boom exploded with a deafening roar as it left the hand, and all the sound became blades of attack. A tidal wave of magic swept outwards, flames burned, the earth trembled, the wind howled, and icicles sprang up wherever the chilling aura swept through.
This was just a coordinated attack, but it far exceeded the magical density that this space could possibly have. The impact was dozens of times more exaggerated than before, and a quarter of the entire labyrinth forest was destroyed in an instant.
"Hey, are you sure you're not going to help?" Lilith looked at the expressionless Xiaobai in surprise from outside the curtain.
He should have been the most worried person here, but even seeing such an offensive, he seemed indifferent.
Xiaobai hesitated for a moment, looked around to make sure no one was there, and then looked at her and asked, "Do you know about Yashiro's abilities?"
“Abilities are privileges bestowed upon mortals by gods and demons, the ability to directly alter the rules.” Lilith hesitated for a moment before saying, “But the other side also has two demon lords, who possess similar abilities.”
Xiao Bai nodded: "Yes, it is indeed very bad."
"So you're not worried?"
"But Yashiro Ritsu won't lose."
"Why are you so confident? Even we were able to suppress a Demon King just now, and everyone here is absolutely powerful. Why do you think Yashiro Ri is safe?"
"Because her ability is victory. As long as she believes she won't lose, then she absolutely won't lose," Xiaobai said. "To achieve this goal, all rules are just decorations. She will directly defy common sense, logic, and even conventional wisdom."
As the smoke cleared, Benny stood there unharmed, the greatsword in her hand its light piercing the sky.
That was a strike that gathered all her holy power, turning the entire sky golden, and the faint, melodious hymn made people unconsciously want to kneel down.
Then, the sword's light began to distort, expanding by a full twofold in an instant.
The scope of miracles includes the restoration of holy power; it can be fully replenished with just a thought.
She could then unleash all her holy power, each replenishment causing even more holy power to surge into the surrounding space.
In the blink of an eye, ten times the previous holy power had gathered into a pillar of light.
Ark looked at the pillar of light and smiled helplessly.
She used twenty times her own holy power to create an attack that severely injured the demon god.
If it were now, the upper limit would have already reached 500 times, right?
Perhaps more?
There's no need to waste time thinking about the outcome of the battle; the result was already predetermined from the moment it began. They couldn't possibly defeat Benny, or even make her seriously engage in combat. That was the power of angels, the true power belonging to God.
"Ark," the Elf King said softly, "can I ask you to protect that child?"
“I will do my best,” Yak said softly, “but I can’t offer any more guarantees.”
“That is the only known Demon God species right now,” the Elf King said. “Even after being cleansed with holy magic and losing all her magic, we have never seen her trigger her Demon God Seal. But she is our only hope. The Church has suppressed us for far too long. No matter how we develop, as long as no Demon God species appears, it will be eternal despair for us.”
The beam of light struck down, and gold instantly filled the entire ground.
The person behind the Elf King slowly knelt down, his mask cracking to reveal a withered face.
It coughed up large amounts of blood, and red liquid flowed from its eye sockets.
It was also one of the three sages, but even the backlash from the impact caused it great pain.
"I'll do my best." Ark slowly closed his eyes and sighed helplessly.
That child was being watched by too many people, and no one treated her like a child.
That's really going too far. Perhaps the best thing for her would be to stay in that city forever, until the end of time.
