Chapter 176 Love (1)

Chapter 176

After tearing open the curtain, Benny walked outside and looked at Ark, who had been waiting there.

The two exchanged a glance, neither of them spoke, and she silently walked past Yak.

The current circumstances are not suitable for saying much.

It was a completely leveled jungle. The labyrinth that was once inhabited by spiders, the space created by the Three Sages to imprison monsters, had become a plain with horizontal cracks, and as far as the eye could see, there was only yellow earth.

But soon this place will be covered with green grass, because holy magic is essentially an element that can help living things grow.

"Why?" she heard someone ask softly. She turned her head and looked at the little spider kneeling on the ground.

Chris stared blankly, his mind unable to process what was happening for a moment.

With just one strike, all that could be seen was a curtain of light. If the space here hadn't been restricted, they would have already perished in that attack.

It was as if an angel had sounded the horn of destruction before them.

This represents the Church's violence, absolute violence. As long as no demon god or similar entity emerges to counter it, a single saint can render the demons' so-called resistance utterly meaningless.

"I'm sorry." Benny didn't explain further, just said softly, and continued forward, no longer looking at the big boy who had collapsed on the spot.

In an instant, only Lilith remained from the entire clan.

The rest, whether they are cocoons or those disgusting insects... they are all the same kind of spider. Although they are disgusting monsters, they are friends and relatives.

After the blast, all that remained was a flat, unobstructed expanse. Everything was razed to the ground.

Lilith silently crouched down next to the little spider, one of its spider legs draped over his shoulder.

Chris turned his head and looked at her tear-streaked face.

"My home is gone," she murmured softly, sobbing quietly.

"Hmm," the little spider said softly, his eyes lowered, feeling as if the world had suddenly become empty.

After the roar subsided, the world fell silent. Utter silence, so complete that not a sound could be heard; even breathing seemed noisy at that moment.

But suddenly, green vines reappeared in this leveled space.

The forest began to grow again at a speed visible to the naked eye.

“We don’t welcome these things here.” Mu Xin appeared beside them at some point. Chris turned to look at him, staring at him in surprise.

I don't know where to begin complaining. The once handsome boy has turned into an indistinct vine made of plants, and his voice sounds like it's been synthesized.

It handed him a black and white gem, which Christon accepted.

"A stable, solidified space?" the little spider murmured, looking at the tiny stone.

This thing should be considered one of the most precious things in the world. Even if it is used, its main purpose is to store miscellaneous goods.

This is something Hanik always carries with him. It's used to store magic.

Krisen turned his head and looked at the enormous body not far away.

That was Hanik, but now it was no longer a small one; it had become a gigantic monster as large as a mountain.

"It said this is a gift for you." Mu Xin paused and said, "I don't know why that guy would do this. It wasn't completely emptied because no matter what he did, he couldn't release all of that person's magic power. Try absorbing it; it's a great gift. If he hadn't specifically said so, I really would have wanted to keep it for myself."

“But what can I do with this?” the little spider looked at him and said, “I have nothing. I have about one cubic meter of space, which is enough for me to store everything I need.”

"It's garbage, disgusting stuff. Lingsen doesn't welcome such filth." Mu Xin said these harsh words in a kind voice, but there was no hostility in her tone at all: "If you're curious, you can take a look for yourself."

With that, he left. Benny spared its life, and although he had used his abilities to return to full strength, he now needed to calm down.

There was absolutely no chance, no skill or experience whatsoever; the opponent was simply unleashing their power, yet it was an overwhelming sense of despair.

Perhaps I was indeed a bit too complacent, failing to realize that I was ultimately just like these spiders, merely a creature tolerated to live in, while those in charge could make them disappear from the world forever at any time.

Suddenly, I felt a sense of sympathy for those spiders. After all, they were all demons, and in essence, there was no alliance stronger than this kind of kinship.

But he was still an elf, an arrogant species. Simply expressing goodwill already made him somewhat embarrassed.

The space within the stone was pitch black, with not a single ray of light visible.

That's understandable, since there's no light source.

Noni transformed into several glowing stones that floated near the little spider and Lilith. The two were no longer sad; instead, they couldn't help but laugh.

It was a spider egg, huge, about the size of two people.

This is a nest, although it's not the kind of nest that has been developed for a long time, but as long as this nest exists, the spiders can reproduce and thrive.

They are a group of monsters that can proliferate as long as there are seeds, and as long as there are descendants, there is no concept of extinction.

"It's alright, but it'll be fine as a new home." Lilith smiled as she looked at the little spider, then reached out and placed her hand on it.

Spider legs expanded and grew from behind her, and the black carapace grew rapidly, forming something resembling armor that covered her entire body.

She transformed into a giant spider, three meters tall, though strictly speaking, her true form remained human. The previous transformations were merely illusions. She had evolved into human form and couldn't revert back to a spider. Although she loathed her human appearance, she could only use illusions and this shell to deceive herself and others, making it seem as if she were still that monster.

Lilith tore open the spiderweb, and thousands of tiny spiders crawled out, onto the ground, on the cocoon, and onto her body. What was originally just a cocoon had begun to grow and spread rapidly.

Before long, this place will become a breeding ground for filthy creatures.

......

It hurts so much.

It feels like all my bones are about to break. It's so painful. Having all my magic power used up can really leave a psychological scar.

It's so painful, so painful that I'm starting to doubt whether all my hard work is even worth it.

Am I awake now? If I am awake, I should open my eyes.

But my eyelids are so heavy, I can't open them at all.

This is Deedris; her magic was almost completely depleted. Then she fell into a deep sleep.

After drifting in and out of consciousness for a few minutes, she decided she should wake up and assess the situation. This was definitely not the time to sleep; it would be nearly impossible to get a good night's rest without knowing what was happening around her.

She heard breathing beside her. She tried to tighten her grip on her arm and suddenly felt as if she were hugging something soft and with a faint fragrance.

Dedeline opened her eyes with a hint of confusion, looking at the child sleeping in her arms.

Oh, it's Lori.

Dedely was a little disappointed, but looking at the child she was holding in her arms, she smiled helplessly.

Come to think of it, everything that happened was because of this child. This child is really capable; even without doing anything, he can throw the whole world into chaos.

I did go to that city just to see the demon, but that was all. I'd heard that demons and chosen ones had the same combat power. Chosen ones were rare enough, but demons were even rarer.

This really makes one curious about what kind of creatures these guys are.

But seeing that it was such a frail girl was truly disheartening. A group of monsters capable of destroying the world at the drop of a hat were even willing to abandon their beliefs to hunt down a child.

I always felt this shouldn't have happened, after all, she was just a child who hadn't done anything. She was trying so hard to be like everyone else, but she was a demon, even a demon god. That meant this child could never find peace.

As for why the child was lying in her arms, Deedley could roughly figure it out.

When the rooms were assigned, she, Little White, and Lori shared one room. Carl and Spider-Man were in the room opposite.

This is a wooden house, consisting of two double rooms, a living room, and some other function rooms.

Because it was a double room, Lori had to sleep with one of the groups of people.

She wanted to stay with Carl, but there were little spiders in that room, and she was a girl, so she stayed here instead.

They figured since they were all girls, there were no taboos. So the two beds were pushed together. She and Xiaobai were on either side of her, with the child lying in the middle.

Dedeline looked to the other side, where Little White was also curled up in the blankets, sleeping soundly.

It must be said that this fox spirit girl is so cute that it melts your heart. I heard that she was specially chosen by that race as a gift to please the church, and she was carefully selected.

It's a bit sad, but at least fate is kind to us.

She crossed her arms behind her head and looked at the ceiling.

Her memory stopped at the moment she plunged the greatsword into Hanik's back, and then she fainted from exhaustion.

It's really lame, but there's nothing I can do about it. Individually, none of these people could do anything. In this group full of oddballs and freaks, I, as a monster, actually seem rather ordinary.

It was a rare feeling. Back when she was a mercenary, she was the one who was seen as a monster. But now, in this group, she just seemed like a guy with horns on his head who liked to drink. Nothing special at all.

She had many things she didn't understand, but since she could lie in this bed with Xiaobai and Luoli sleeping soundly beside her, it meant things were still moving in a positive direction. At least things weren't too bad, and there was still room for maneuver.

Listening to the breathing of the two people beside her, Deedri suddenly remembered that the purpose of this place was to make some simple preparations before heading to the Land of the Dead.

But I'm so tired now, it doesn't feel like I came here to rest at all. I'm so weak right now, it really doesn't feel like I came here to rest.

But speaking of which, where is Spider-Man now?

Dedely suddenly felt uneasy. Where was that guy now?

It could happen anywhere. On the bright side, maybe you're in a passionate relationship with someone named Lilith, living together in that jungle.

The bad ones will probably die.

But the thought of Spider-Man dying is a bit disillusioning. Could that guy really die so easily? It's hard to believe.

Let's think about the more probable scenario: maybe we can stay in that forest with Lilith.

That's the pair that should be together; both are spiders, both are monsters, and both have good opportunities.

But it's a little heartbreaking, since I was the one who got there first, no matter what it was.

But now it's been taken over by some guy with even higher harmony from who knows where, which is a little infuriating.

As she thought about this, she suddenly realized she couldn't fall asleep.

Since I don't know when I'll be leaving, perhaps I should take the time to explore this place properly. This is my first time in Lingsen; I've heard it's beautiful at night.

I've always wanted to see it for myself, and now is a great opportunity.

She carefully pulled the arm that Lori had been using as a pillow from under her neck, and then changed into a decent bathrobe from the rack next to her.

As expected of elves, they are quite particular about their clothing.

She held the material of her bathrobe in her hand; it was dyed white linen, and the quality was quite good.

Although being seen in this outfit might be considered somewhat indecent, she is Deedris and wouldn't care about such trivial matters in her eyes.

She pushed open the door. The living room was dimly lit, but unexpectedly, there was a firelight. The firelight projected a hideous monster onto the wall; it was a black shadow with several lines coiled on the wall. The monster sitting there looked so familiar that it surprised her.

"So you weren't asleep after all." Deedley smiled helplessly, looking at the little spider sitting there.

"Mm," Christon replied, but didn't look up at her.

He was busy with his work and didn't seem to want to chat.

The strange patterns that had appeared before were gone, and he had returned to his previous somewhat timid state. The spider legs behind him were rapidly pulling at the white threads, and in his hands, a sweater was gradually taking shape.

Dedeline looked at the sweater in silence and smiled helplessly.

This guy is really inexplicable.
