Chapter 104 Showing Off (2)

Chapter 104

A flash of black light disappeared in an instant, and explosions occurred wherever the light touched.

Including Carl.

The moment he came into contact with the magic beam, he was shoved directly into the ground. The ground trembled, gravity reversed, and hundreds of tons of magma sprayed and splashed in the air.

When the pain woke Carl up again, he was choked by the smell of blood.

"Are you alright?" The little spider gasped for breath, its limbs flailing wildly behind it, its expression contorted in a grimace.

“Still alive.” Karl opened his eyes and saw that one of the spider’s legs had dense cracks, from which purple blood was flowing.

Just as he was about to enter the lava, the little spider used its web to pull him to a relatively safe place.

"That thing...cannot be destroyed." A weak voice came from the side. Karl turned his head and stared blankly at the girl next to him.

The left half of Gray's body was missing, and there were gaps from its neck to half of its abdomen.

She was also accidentally hit by the laser.

"Don't worry, I'm not a living thing. I'm dead, so naturally, I won't die." As she spoke, she used the sickle to prop herself up again.

But her expression didn't look relieved at all.

Karl turned his eyes and was also stunned.

The monsters, which had been acting like madmen, aimed at all the leaks, and in the instant they reacted, the area was filled with high-pressure magic.

“Perhaps I did say I'd wait until everyone was here before going in,” Ark patted Spider-Man on the shoulder. “But thankfully, they're all still alive.”

The little spider opened its eyes, which had been closed in fear, and stared blankly at Ark's expression.

"Don't look at him, I'm the one who saved you." Chullier smiled and gave the group, who had turned around to greet him after being startled, a fairly friendly expression.

Ark wanted to say something, but he suddenly realized that there was a chill behind him. He turned around and saw Lady standing behind him.

“Um, I remember I had Aparie take you there to get used to your body.” Ark’s tone was slightly embarrassed.

“No problem, I’ve pretty much got it working.” Lady said softly, looking at the monster in front of her, then fell silent. Her expression was cold, hidden by shadows.

“I tried to stop it,” Apari’s voice sounded behind her.

"Well, that means everyone's here." It was rare for Denos to perk up, so he tugged at his collar to make himself look more serious.

"That thing, you can't cut it with this, can you?" Dedeline's expression twitched, looking conflicted.

Karl and his gang held off the monster for a full hour, so now everyone on the city wall is present.

Yak rubbed his head, feeling a little confused.

Suddenly being thrust into such a grand scene left me a little disoriented. These guys also looked expressionless, probably because they'd seen too many things to complain about, but didn't know where to begin.

Lady turned her head and glanced at Ark out of the corner of her eye. The guy had somehow taken out a life-sized black greatsword and stuck it next to him. His expression looked a bit indifferent, not like he was going to the battlefield, but more like he was going to eat.

But after just one glance, her hand touched the city wall, and the entire city wall came to life.

With her magical ability, Reconstruction, she transformed the entire steel wall into a complete monster.

"Hey, hey, hey, isn't something wrong?" Denos's expression twitched as he watched her stand up nonchalantly.

He instinctively grabbed the wall behind him, but the change in position left him with nothing behind him, causing him to fall to the ground.

When I looked up again, I could no longer see anyone.

Why did I even come along? I'll probably be leaving the team after this, and it wouldn't be a problem if I didn't participate in the final battle against that big guy, right?

Thinking this, he threw the fiery red crystal out of his pocket, which exploded in the air and shot away like thousands of rockets.

"Hey, aren't you just wasting things?" Dedeline's question came from the side. She raised her eyebrows and looked at Denos with a puzzled expression.

Because those flames can't even reach the monsters; they're consumed halfway through. And even so, they're useless in places where gravity is abnormal.

"Mind your own business," Denos said irritably, looking at the black cat that had somehow landed in front of him.

"What happened to Gray?" He mumbled in a low voice, his brows furrowed as he looked at Denos.

"He should be in the back." Denos remembered that Bai had been carried to the back by Karl earlier, because he seemed to have been seriously injured and needed to leave the field to rest.

However, it seems that An did not return with them, so he did not find his friends.

The completely mutated city wall began to twist and disintegrate, shooting high-speed fragments towards the monster. At the same time, a portion of it, like liquid, protruded to block the energy beam.

The creature controlling the city wall was now wielding a massive scythe, swinging it at the monster. It looked like a bird trying to break a tree.

That guy wasn't like this before.

Thinking this, Denos crossed his elbows in front of him to block the falling stones.

“Thank you all for your hard work.” Behind him, Apari said, “After all, it’s because my abilities cannot be exposed to the church that things have turned out this way.”

"So Ark's abilities are unusable because of this, right?" Denos said irritably. "Otherwise, it would have ended long ago."

"Indeed, I really don't know how he did it. He wasn't even recognized as a Demon King. I remember his label was Calamity, so I guess that guy pulled some strings. But you, kid, who is Armello to you?"

“My grandfather,” Denos hesitated for a moment before asking, “Do you know him?”

“I’ve seen him. He’s quite skilled with spells. Didn’t you inherit his runes? Why don’t you show me?” Apari hesitated for a moment before asking, “I remember it was Black Lightning.”

"Huh?" This time it was Denos's turn to be stunned. He only knew that he had not inherited any markings from his father, and it was hard to say whether he had any markings at all. But he really didn't know what markings his family had.

Wait, wait, Black Lightning? I feel like I've seen this ability somewhere before?

“Oh, it seems that thing only chooses one successor. Never mind then, give my regards to him, if he's still alive.” Apari said to the two of them, “You two should find a place to sit down; you won't be of any help going up there now.”

"Is it because Ark is here?" Dedeline looked at the thing moving at high speed, her expression somewhat helpless. "Why does that thing need guards?"

Yak landed on the ground, and when he lifted his foot, all that remained of the spot where he had stepped was a large crater, like a meteorite falling to earth.

He himself was launched like a cannonball, smashing everything in his path.

He was a bit annoyed, so he wasn't planning on giving this guy a good outcome this time.

Gravity shifted, and magma and rock surrounded the area.

But he charged forward as if completely unaffected, cutting down anything in his path with his greatsword.

When he jumped, he was already less than 100 meters away from the object.

The little spider that had been clinging to him was thrown out, and then, while raising his greatsword to block the magic, he was blasted into the ground by the immense force.

The throw covered a distance of a hundred meters. The little spider grabbed the monster's body with both hands, and its limbs pierced completely into the monster's skin.

The wounds from earlier had already healed on the way, given its small size and status as a calamity. The little spider's wounds healed almost instantly.

The enormous monster felt the pain, and it struggled even more fiercely, its entire body contorting.

That's because the little spider's venom began to work through the wound; it was a venom made purely of magic, capable of fundamentally dismantling this enormous monster.

The body, which should have been covered in thick scales, had gaps opened by the guards on the city wall using heavy weapons. These weak points could not possibly stop the little spider's spear-like limbs.

Four heads were severed in an instant, and the magic that exploded underground was channeled through the greatsword into a sharp slashing wave. At the same time, Lady also severed one of the heads with her scythe.

Before they could even damage the other heads, these had already recovered. It was almost unbelievable, as the injuries were erased in an instant.

"The magic core that takes things is inside your body." Ark's voice reached everyone's heads, and at the same time, his vision was synchronized and flashed by.

That was a huge cocoon; there was a huge cocoon inside the monster's body.

Through the surge of malice, Ark saw only the core gathered within its body in the black and white world.

“Poor thing, is she already dead?” Aparie said softly, looking at Lori who was standing next to her curled up in a ball. “If you don’t want to become like that in the future, you have to try to live. For us, there is no shame in how we live. As long as we can live, there is no shame in what we do.”

Lori didn't answer; she just stared at the thing in a daze.

"How disgusting." Dedeline waved the object in her hand in front of her, because the blood from her severed head was only now flying towards her.

"It's not good-looking."

"A corrupted demon?" Karl's attention was also drawn, and he frowned as he spoke.

If the demon's mark is not removed after the demon dies, its body and soul will be resurrected.

However, if the body is severely damaged, and because not enough magic power is extracted from the chaos, causing the chaotic magic power to wrap around itself like a cocoon, then it will turn into the monster in front of you.

In other words, this thing is no less than a mad demon king.

Carl tried to slip away to help, but was secretly tugged at his sleeve.

"You can only leave after her treatment is complete," he muttered, then looked at Karl and said, "She's not well yet."

“Don’t worry, you don’t need to go.” Apari looked at Chulier and said, “That thing doesn’t have a magic core in its body, so it seems difficult to obtain pure magic power. Although I’m old, I can still help provide some raw materials for the medicine.”

"If only you had said that back then."

“Good intentions don’t take time, but what you said really hurts me,” Apari said with a smile, then slowly fell silent.

This feeling is really awful, knowing that you'll turn into a monster after you die.

While it may not necessarily turn into the monster in front of us, it certainly won't be a pleasant-looking creature.

She was trying to figure out how to get the girl next to her to accept that this was a demon. Not a demon like Lady, who was created later in life, but a real demon who had been given power by demons.

Although she still doesn't know what the child's abilities are, Apari doesn't want to know. If the child can't be under her protection, then it's best if his or her secrets are not known to others.

"Don't worry, when you become like that, I'll take responsibility for killing you." Karl said softly to the silent Lori, then stood up again. This time, Dark didn't stop him, because Gray's injuries had been healed, and his arm had even grown back.

Although they don't grow back from Karl, these people usually have the ability to regenerate their limbs on their own. However, due to corruption, it's best to have a priest nearby when they are regenerating.

“Really?” Lori didn’t turn her head, but said softly.

The reason he didn't turn around was that Karl charged forward again; as a priest, he was extremely responsible.

The little spider was lying there, motionless.

It is the core of this battle, because Ark and the two demons cannot use their abilities in public because of the church. The only magic weapon Ark can think of to deal with this thing is the little spider.

All it needs to do is destroy the magic core; it just needs to find a way to destroy the magic core right now.

It slowly closed its eyes, letting itself sink into the monster's body.

This outer shell cannot be destroyed; it was originally formed from chaotic filth, so any attack will be absorbed into the body.

Therefore, the only option is to find another way after the body is integrated, so the little spider does not resist the integration at all.

However, the drawbacks also become apparent the moment they begin.

That's resentment; this guy looks like he's crying.

Or rather, it's a groan.

Given the pain, there should have been thousands of wounds appearing simultaneously by now. And it's not just a few people dealing with it; countless cannons on the city walls are unleashing their firepower.

That's pain that no normal creature could endure; the feeling of being bombarded all over must be unbearable... no, it should be described as excruciating pain.

Ark jumped between the heads, and with each jump, a head would be pierced by a nail and driven into the ground.

Those were nails formed from his own magic; the nails he casually conjured drove his head into the ground, and he couldn't even break free.

But this was only a temporary restriction of movement. Ark used his short sword to cut open a wound, then plunged his hand deep into it...
