Chapter 13 Poisonous Town - 6 Morgue Cabinets? ...
Morgue cabinet?
After a brief moment of confusion, Tang Bufan understood Lu Yi's thoughts. He didn't want to wait until tomorrow, but Tang Bufan's current physical condition clearly prevented him from continuing to search for a hospital, so he needed to settle him in a safe place first.
“The morgue cabinet is made of metal, so the poisoner can’t hurt you inside, Teacher,” Lu Yi said to Tang Bufan, his golden-green beast eyes clear. “But I will lock the cabinet, so if I don’t come back, Teacher will be locked in that cabinet forever.”
Tang Bufan thought about it quickly and then nodded in agreement.
"I believe you, so I'll do as you say."
Tang Bufan understood perfectly well that he had been a burden to Lu Yi from beginning to end. Rather than being tied down by Lu Yi's side, he preferred to stay in a safe place.
Compared to a motorhome where windows might be broken, a morgue is certainly safer.
Seeing that Tang Bufan agreed, Lu Yi then asked him to take off the medicine and the heavy waist bag from his pocket.
"Your leg is injured now, so just keep the bulletproof vest on you. Leave everything else here, I'll come back for it later."
Tang Bufan nodded and began to take off his clothes, leaving only the bulletproof vest as Lu Yi had instructed.
"Alright," he said, picking up the pistol from the ground and preparing to leave.
"Do you want me to carry you?" Lu Yi stared at Tang Bufan's bandaged foot. Because Tang Bufan had forced himself to stand up, the wound had bled a lot more, staining the bandage red in a patch the size of a palm.
"No need, you focus on dealing with the poisoners around you." Tang Bufan didn't want to affect Lu Yi.
Seeing how much he could endure, Lu nodded. His face was filled with a heavy death aura, but his eyes were more resolute than those of a healthy person.
"Let's go back to the pharmaceutical room first and get my light screen glasses," Lu Yi said to Tang Bufan, then picked up the blood-stained long curved knife and walked out of the operating room first.
The sun was nearing sunset, and the long, dark corridor was shrouded in darkness. Lu Yi's beastly eyes glowed faintly in the light, while Tang Bufan, who had lost his light-screen glasses, had to strain his eyes to see the corridor clearly.
To make matters worse, his right eye was still swollen, so he was now seeing the road with only his left eye.
"Evelyn, activate the light." Lu Yi suddenly said, and the bracelet on his right wrist lit up with a bright but not dazzling light, illuminating several meters around the two of them.
Tang Bufan's left eye, which had been straining to see the road, immediately felt better.
Without asking Lu Yi about the bracelet, Tang Bufan had already guessed that it was good.
The operating room was on the 7th floor. He didn't know how those two poisoners dragged him all the way here through the ventilation duct. There were still many poisoners hiding in the rooms on both sides of the corridor. Tang Bufan could sense their gaze and subtle movements, hidden in the darkness.
However, Lu Yi's presence kept them from coming out. Occasionally, a few restless ones would stare at Tang Bufan in the room, but Tang Bufan would quickly point his gun at them, and they would immediately retreat.
Dealing with a conscious poisoner is actually easier than dealing with a mindless one.
As they entered the stairwell, Lu Yi suddenly moved closer to Tang Bufan and put his arm around his waist. Tang Bufan was startled for a moment but immediately relaxed and cooperated by hooking his left arm around Lu Yi's neck so that Lu Yi could lift him up.
"Don't climb the stairs from the middle." Tang Bufan was still shaken by Lu Yi's reckless climbing that afternoon.
Lu Yi couldn't help but smile, and obediently put his arm around his waist to climb the stairs. But each step was three steps, and they climbed to the 11th floor very quickly.
The lights in the pharmaceutical room were still on. When the two entered the room, they saw a drug-using person quickly crawl away through the open window, and their garbage bags full of drugs were gone.
Fortunately, the light screen glasses that Lu Yi had placed on the table were still there.
Lu Yi put his arm around Tang Bufan and walked over, then picked up the large glasses and put them on Tang Bufan's face.
"Louis, the poisoner is sealing off the stairwell door."
Evelyn's gentle electronic female voice rang out, and a beam of light shone from the screen of the bracelet, revealing a holographic image of the toxic hospital in front of the two of them.
Tang Bufan, who was feeling somewhat drowsy, suddenly became much more awake upon seeing this scene.
"...Isn't this the kind of floating holographic image you only see in Hollywood sci-fi movies?" Tang Bufan exclaimed inwardly, thinking that as expected of the legendary powerful personal AI, it was indeed not on the same level as Brother Kai.
Tang Bufan's surprised gaze caught Lu Yi's attention.
"Aren't all the advertisements on the streets of the underground city holographic?" Lu Yi, still with her arm around Tang Bufan's waist, stared at him closely. "Teacher seems quite surprised?"
Tang Bufan was startled and quickly lowered his eyes.
Lu Yi's keen insight gave him a headache.
"Slums are rare." That was the only lie Tang Bufan could tell.
"...They're also common in slums," Lu Yi pointed out, though her tone was gentle.
Tang Bufan helplessly raised his left eye to look at him: "You've never been to the East District Underground City."
The two looked at each other, and Tang Bufan's sharp eyes became more wary, so Lu Yi smiled slightly.
“You’re right.” Lu Yi followed Tang Bufan’s words: “Maybe I’ve been watching too many videos.”
Tang Bufan knew that he had become suspicious, but he politely did not make things difficult for himself.
After Lu Yi finished speaking, he put his arm around Tang Bufan and walked to the window, leaning out to look down.
Right next to the window was a metal gas pipe. Lu Yi leaned out and tried to grab it; it was quite stable.
Tang Bufan hooked his arm around his neck and sighed helplessly, knowing that he couldn't escape the fate of climbing walls high in the sky.
The holographic image Evelyn projected into the air showed a large number of toxic people gathered in the stairwell on the ground floor, talking incoherently around a toxic person who looked like a leader.
It's obvious they're discussing how to deal with them and are trying to launch a counterattack.
"Evelyn, mark the poisoned one in the very center." Lu Yi instructed his AI, threw the long curved sword out the window, and then put his arm around Tang Bufan's waist to pull him into his arms.
Even though Tang Bufan felt strange, all he could do was hold onto his neck tightly with both hands.
As soon as they were airborne, Lu Yi carried Tang Bufan over the wall.
The two were dozens of meters in the air. Lu Yi held onto the gas pipe with one hand and used the other hand to lift Tang Bufan's buttocks, indicating that he should wrap his legs around his waist.
"Is your foot okay?" Lu Yi asked the person in his arms as the wind blew through the air.
Tang Bufan's foot was actually in a lot of pain, but he had to be able to in order to survive.
"Okay." Tang Bufan tried to calm himself down, gripping Lu Yi's waist tightly with his feet, and not looking down.
His cooperation eased Lu Yi's worries, and he then grabbed the gas pipe with both hands and feet and began to climb down.
The sun was barely visible on the horizon, its red glow barely visible. The two men's long hair swayed in the evening breeze. Lu Yi's hair wasn't disheveled because Tang Bufan had his arms around his neck, but a lot of Tang Bufan's loose black hair smudged onto his face.
He just stood there with his head held high, his swollen right eye closed and his dark left eye open, floating lightly in the evening breeze. The black hair that clung to his face made his bluish complexion look even whiter.
Lu Yi glanced at him every now and then as he crawled down.
He felt a little strange. Tang Bufan wasn't good-looking; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say he was as thin as a skeleton. But for some reason, he gave off a bewitching charm.
Is it because his face is too pale? Or is it because the wind is blowing his hair?
Lu Yi couldn't figure it out, but he found it quite interesting.
A person who is not good-looking but gives the impression of being good-looking.
A few minutes later, the two landed on the ground floor. Tang Bufan let out a deep breath and finally lowered his head.
Thank goodness you didn't die from the fall.
“Keep holding me like this.” Lu Yi glanced at the holographic projection Evelyn had projected onto them. A large group of poisoners were gathered on the first floor, in the stairwell, corridor, and ward.
“Take the garage entrance, Louis.” Evelyn scanned the surroundings with her radar, calculating the best route to the morgue for Lu Yi.
Lu Yi picked up the long curved knife from the grass, supported Tang Bufan's buttocks with his hand, and started running.
The poisonous creatures spotted them and let out loud hiss, but only one or two rushed at them, and Lu Yi cut them down with his knife.
Tang Bufan felt uncomfortable being jostled around in Lu Yi's arms. Perhaps because he was too weak, he felt nauseous again.
Fortunately, Lu Yi didn't make him bounce around for too long. Following Evelyn's guidance, he passed through the underground garage and arrived at the morgue without incident.
With a kick, Lu Yi sent the idiot who had caught up flying. He closed the morgue door, looked down at Tang Bufan in his arms, and found him pursing his lips in pain, already somewhat delirious.
He looked at Tang Bufan's injured foot again, and sure enough, the bloodstains on the bandage had spread very widely.
Lu Yi's expression turned serious, and he quickly walked to the row of dusty morgue cabinets.
The morgue cabinet was old-fashioned and rusty. Lu Yi found one with a key in it, opened the metal cabinet door, and pulled out a rusty metal table inside.
He placed the drowsy Tang Bufan on the screen, then reached out and pressed the screen-recording glasses on his face to activate the recording.
"Brother Kai, transfer the image on your glasses to Evelyn so I can always know what's going on in the closet," Lu Yi said to Brother Kai.
“The signal is unstable,” Kai replied in a gentle, electronic male voice.
“…You’re really useless.” Lu Yi couldn’t help but curse Kai Ge, even though he knew in his heart that it was because of the RV’s configuration.
"Sorry." Kai's electronic male voice remained gentle.
Tang Bufan then slightly opened his left eye and whispered to Lu Yidao, "I won't die, you can go in peace."
He still had too many doubts and too many regrets. How could he be willing to die in this remote town?
"No matter how long you're gone... I will live." Tang Bufan lay on the cold metal table, his voice filled with unwavering determination: "Whether it's a day, a year... a thousand years... when you open this cabinet, you'll find my chest still breathing... I want to bring back an answer... to see Grandma..."
Tang Bufan closed his eyes as he spoke.
What was the result? Grandma? His relatives in the underground city? Lu Yi wondered. He looked at Tang Bufan's increasingly dark face, and without further hesitation, pushed the metal platform inside and closed the cabinet door.
After locking the cabinet with the key, Lu Yi went out and locked the morgue door. He then turned and stared at the poisoned man hidden in the darkness in the distance, his golden-green eyes narrowing.
"Slow down." Lu Yi raised his long curved sword. "Because I don't want to chase you. Be good and let me finish this quickly."

Meanwhile, in the Western Federation of Orcs, a silver-haired middle-aged commander knocked on a heavy wooden door.
"Enter."
Angus went inside and reported to the middle-aged man sitting behind a large desk:
"Your Majesty, Young Master Louis activated AI today."
The middle-aged man who was reviewing documents looked up. He had blond hair and golden eyes, and although he was old, his face was still very handsome. He also had the air of authority that comes with years of holding a high position.
Where is he?
"Tarim Basin".
"They ran quite far," the middle-aged man said indifferently.
Should we send someone to bring him back?
"No need, let him play outside a little longer." The middle-aged man finished speaking and continued to review the documents in his hands.
Angus received an answer but did not leave. He hesitated for a moment before continuing to speak to the middle-aged man, "If Young Master Louis has activated AI, my son should have also obtained his position. I'm afraid he..."
“Angus, don’t worry.” The middle-aged man lowered his eyes and said coldly, “If Louis is killed by Anderson so easily, he is not worthy to be my successor.”
"……I see."
"Go down."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
