Chapter 12 Who is invited to enter the trap?

Yuanshi paced back and forth at the door of the house, her hands tightly clasped together.

"What are you doing?"

Old Mrs. Fang's voice came from the front hall.

Yuan was so frightened that she trembled and walked over carefully.

"No, nothing," she stammered.

The Fang family only has two concubines, but I didn't expect that the murderer who murdered the Fang family's descendants was Su.

The honest Su, the Su who never had any desires.

It doesn't look like that at all.

If we have to say it is one of the two aunts.

"Then I should be the murderer." Yuan thought and sighed.

Old Mrs. Fang glared at her.

"You? Don't be so conceited. You are the kind of person who only cares about living a good life. No one will trust you when you are a bad guy. When the time comes, you will be the one who forgets your principles and pursues profit without any threats or inducements." She said.

Yuan was embarrassed.

"Are you complimenting me or mocking me, old lady?" she said with a smile.

Old Mrs. Fang ignored her and continued reading the letter in her hand with a hint of worry in her eyes.

This was the first time he showed signs of worry since the Su family incident was resolved.

This is certainly not about being sad and resentful because someone close to you betrayed you.

As for being betrayed by someone close to her, Mrs. Fang had experienced it more than ten years ago.

"Will this really work?" Old Mrs. Fang murmured, "Will it not be a waste of all our efforts?"

Yuanshi immediately came forward with a worried look on her face.

"Yes, yes, can Madam go alone? Besides, the criminal has just been caught. It would be better to let the young master hide for a few more days and come back after the house is cleaned up." She said.

Old Mrs. Fang snorted.

"You're right," she said. "We should bring them back so that all the evil spirits can come out. Will you be happy if we can clean them up once and for all?"

Although it is now said that Su is the mastermind, how many of his accomplices have not yet been fully investigated.

I have always been close to the Su family. Although I have not been arrested now, I might still be regarded as the number one suspect in the minds of the old lady and the first wife.

Yuanshi was embarrassed again and dared not say anything. She watched Old Lady Fang shake the letter in her hand and throw it into the incense burner.

I don't know what I'm reading. Who wrote it? It seems like the old lady arranged the actions according to the letter?

Yuan was just daydreaming when a guard hurried in from outside the door.

Yuan took a few steps back and watched the guard whisper something in Old Lady Fang's ear. Old Lady Fang smiled coldly and stood up.

"Let's go." She said, and walked out quickly.

It was already dark when we saw the house ahead. The guards in front of Mrs. Fang's carriage also lit torches.

"Madam, we're here." the nurse said in a low voice.

Mrs. Fang lifted the car curtain and looked around.

"I'm not going in. Just take it out and walk out." She said in a low voice.

The guards responded, the carriage stopped in front of the house, and knocked three times, accompanied by three cuckoo calls. A moment later, the door of the small house opened, and two lanterns floated in the darkness, illuminating a stretcher. Another slender figure wrapped in a shawl followed closely.

The group quickly got on the car and drove away in the dark night.

The only sound on the quiet and remote mountain road was the sound of horse hooves. The increasingly dark night made the few torches seem even dimmer.

Suddenly, there were spots of light in front of us, as if stars fell to the ground, or as if dry grass was ignited.

The guard walking in the front reined in his horse, rushed back and raised his hand. The horses and carriages stopped and the guards looked around vigilantly.

"What's wrong?" Mrs. Fang leaned out of the car and asked in a low voice.

"Madam, there seems to be someone here." the guard whispered.

Mrs. Fang clenched her fists, and sure enough, the sound of horse hooves was heard ahead.

"Da Lang's wife." Accompanied by an old voice.

Mrs. Fang sat in front of the car and stopped the guards from stopping her.

A group of more than ten people appeared in the night, the bright torches in their hands made the place as bright as day.

"Uncle Song," she called out, looking at the old man walking in the night ahead, a little surprised and a little nervous, "Why are you here?"

The guards around the carriage were also inexplicably nervous and looked at these people with alert expressions.

Manager Song rode on his horse without a single smile on his face.

"I know everything about the family." He said, looking towards Mrs. Fang's carriage, "Is Chengyu okay?"

Of course she would tell him about the family matters, and Mrs. Fang would definitely ask him to do such a big thing.

Mrs. Fang nodded.

"It's okay," she said.

Manager Song did not go forward to see Chengyu.

"Don't go home yet, stay at the house for a few days first," he said.

Mrs. Fang nodded.

"That's exactly what I want. The house is ready," she said.

Shopkeeper Song nodded.

"Okay, let's go over there quickly and settle Chengyu first. We can talk about other things when we get back," he said.

Mrs. Fang responded by getting back into the carriage and urging the horse forward. Manager Song and his men spread out to escort her from the left and right.

Because there were so many people and torches, the carriage was lit up, illuminating Mrs. Fang's face, which was bright and dim. Her expression was complicated, as if she wanted to cry but also seemed to be resentful. Soon the carriage stopped again.

"The madam is here." said the guard outside the door.

Mrs. Fang concealed her expression, lifted the curtain and got out of the car.

This is a small house located at the outermost part of the village. In the quiet night, the arrival of this group of people caused the dogs in the village to bark one after another.

Mrs. Fang got out of the car and watched the guards open the door lock that was covered with a thick layer of dust.

"For the sake of confidentiality, these are all temporary rentals." She explained in a low voice to the shopkeeper Song who was walking over.

Shopkeeper Song nodded but said nothing.

Mrs. Fang saw the carriage being moved and hurried forward to follow it into the yard.

"Go clean up the house and light the lights." Mrs. Fang said to the guards, then looked at the guards standing in front of the car, "Be careful."

These guards were going to carry Fang Chengyu out of the car, but the woman wrapped in the hood had already gotten off.

There was a bit of chaos in front of the carriage due to the crowd.

Mrs. Fang thought of something and looked out the door.

Manager Song was still standing outside the door.

"Uncle, please come in quickly," Mrs. Fang said, and asked casually, "Does mother have any other instructions?"

Shopkeeper Song nodded.

"My sister-in-law said..." he began, waving his hand, "Go to hell."

What?

Mrs. Fang was startled, and saw that the guards of Manager Song standing outside the door suddenly took out bows and arrows and lit the arrows on torches.

"Madam, be careful." The guards shouted, blocking Madam Fang and making her retreat.

The sound of sharp arrows whizzing echoed in the yard.

However, these arrows were not aimed at Mrs. Fang, but hit the carriage instead.

The people around the carriage had already fled in all directions, leaving only the carriage burning.

Fang Chengyu is also in the carriage.

But there was no sound of Mrs. Fang crying or shouting in the yard.

Pushing aside the guards who were covering her, Mrs. Fang looked at the shopkeeper Song outside the door with an angry expression.

"Uncle!" she cried, her voice tearing up. "What do you want to do?"

Shopkeeper Song looked as calm as ever.

"What do I want to do? What do you want to do? Lure me here and hack me to death?" He said, "Do you think I, your second uncle, have become old and confused?"

Having said this, he raised his hand again.

Along with his voice, stars appeared in the dark night, and more guards seemed to emerge from the ground, holding bows and arrows and aiming at the courtyard.

"Will this trick of catching turtles in a jar work on me?" Shopkeeper Song stood in the middle, looking angry and sarcastic, "I'm not a fool."

As he shouted, countless flaming arrows flew towards the house like meteors again.

Mrs. Fang let out a scream and was once again protected by the guards. Fortunately, this time the rocket was still not aimed at her.

The simple house was set on fire by the rocket, and a dozen guards hiding inside jumped out, equipped with knives, guns, sticks, and shields, and protected Mrs. Fang closely.
