Chapter 53: Trouble Although Jero Zeppelin is young, he is very capable...
Although young, Jero Zeppeli possessed remarkable abilities. He expertly examined the skin injuries on Blackmoa's body, his demeanor appearing calm and composed, easily giving people a sense of reassurance.
Just when Mary thought that Italian medicine was far superior to that of the United States and was considering bringing Johnny to see a doctor, something outrageous happened. The doctor actually took out a green iron ball and placed it on Blackmoa.
"What are you doing?" She and Blackmoa spoke at the same time, and the distrust in their eyes made Jello quite unhappy.
"Humph, you two aren't locals, are you? You don't even know this." He shook his head, feeling very disappointed with their ignorance. "This is our Zeppeli family's specialty. Some people who want to try it don't even have the chance."
The speaker may not intend it, but the listener may take it seriously.
Mary and Blackmoya were both on guard, but Jero Zeppelin was oblivious. He carefully placed the spinning iron ball on the injured man, letting it roll around.
Seeing that the other party was not joking, Mary stayed quietly aside. Her tact satisfied Jello, and he lowered his head to continue working, and quickly came to a conclusion.
"My friend, your health condition is quite serious." Jero Zeppelin took back the iron ball, his expression becoming serious. "You need to rest for at least two weeks, otherwise you will easily suffer from sequelae."
He pulled a pen from his pocket, sat down in a chair, and began writing furiously: "First, your soft tissue... never mind, I'll explain it in simple terms." Jero Zeppeli looked at Blackmoa: "You have too many skin injuries, and your body is still full of toxins left by venomous insects. There's fluid in your ankle joints. If you don't wait until all the injuries are healed before moving, you'll habitually limp."
I didn't expect it to be so serious...
"Sister, I'm not trying to be harsh on you, but could you please pay more attention to your husband? He's in a really bad condition." Jero Zeppelin put down his pen and handed Mary the prescription. "There are five oral medications and seven topical medications."
"...He is my brother, not my husband."
"It doesn't matter. You're supposed to supervise him taking his medicine anyway. Do you understand?" Jero Zeppeli withdrew the prescription. His face was filled with a pleasing mixture of reserve and arrogance, and a sense of distance that kept strangers away. "I'm going to get the medicine. You all wait here for me. Don't wander off."
Only after he was out of their sight did Mary and Blackmoya begin to talk.
"Mary... have you noticed that this hospital... is so cool?" Blackmoya looked around. "Obviously... there's no cooling equipment running..."
"I found out," Mary said, "Let's not talk about this for now. Since your condition is not optimistic, do you want to go back and recuperate?"
Blackmoya shook his head: "I... won't go back."
"Okay," Mary said quickly after hearing footsteps outside the door. "Then you are not allowed to follow me to explore the caves anymore. You can only stay in the hotel."
The light blond man in front of him wanted to retort, but when he saw Jello, he swallowed his words and his expression returned to indifference.
"Take these," Jello said, stuffing a bulging cloth bag into Mary's arms. "There are instructions for taking the medicine inside."
He was very straightforward and didn't mince words. "Okay, you guys better get out of here. I've already wasted almost an hour on you."
"You haven't told me how much the medicine costs."
Jero Zeppelin just remembered this. Just as he picked up the pen to count the money, Mary pulled his sleeve and said, "Does your hospital have an inpatient department? I don't think I can take good care of him."
The other party blinked his eyes and said, "There are hospital beds, but the price is not cheap." He gave a number that was within Mary's acceptable range, so she paid the money readily.
Jello didn't just put the money in the drawer, but went out again, probably to go through some procedures. While he was away, the two of them quickly started chatting again.
"The hospital is a good place to get information. Just stay here and I will come to you every day to get information."
"Yes... I know... I will recover soon..." Blackmoya nodded cautiously. Although he was a ruthless killer, he looked hesitant. "You... should also be careful... Mary."
"What should we be careful about?" Jello walked in with a snow-white list and asked without any sense of boundaries.
Mary didn't know how to respond, so she remained silent. It was Blackmoya who took the lead: "When I'm gone... be careful... stay safe."
"Oh," Jello nodded casually in response, then handed the list to the blond-haired man. "Keep this safe, don't lose it." He tapped the blank form on the list with his slender finger. "Remember to give this to the inpatient department. Every day you stay in the hospital, they'll circle the box. Once the box is full, you'll be discharged. Understand?"
"……clear."
"Okay, just follow the signs. Mary and I will leave first." Jero Zeppelin stretched and motioned Mary to follow him.
Mary didn't understand why the other person suddenly acted so familiar with her, and she followed him out of the hospital inexplicably.
After Jero walked out of the hospital, he didn't move. He didn't move, and she didn't move either.
After a stalemate of half a minute, Jero Zeppelin said nonchalantly, "You fellow, don't you even know which way home is?"
"I know?"
"Then why don't you leave?"
"???" Mary said, "Because I'm waiting for you to speak. Do you have anything to say?"
The other person was so angry that he laughed. He rubbed the back of his head and said, "You little girl... It's so late, and you're walking alone at night. Are you really looking for trouble?" He paused, and a mocking expression appeared on his face. "No way, you've never had anyone send you home before?"
"Yes," Mary's answer was so straightforward that Jello didn't know how to respond. He touched his nose uncomfortably and said, "Alright, let's go."
"You don't have to send me off." Mary shook her head. "Don't you have something to do?"
"That was a lie."
Jello's outrageous words made Mary open her mouth in confusion: "Huh?"
"Because I didn't know what kind of people you were at first..." he muttered softly, "Let me tell you, good doctors are in high demand. Some people even blocked our door to see a doctor. What if you're the kind of people who wouldn't let go of a doctor? Wouldn't I have to treat your relatives and friends all night long?"
"...Oh." Mary felt that this man was talkative, but seemed to have a good heart: "Then...thank you for giving me a ride?"
Jello waved his hand, signaling her not to be so polite. He walked to Mary's side. The muscle lines on his arms were very smooth and beautiful. How could a doctor have such strong muscles?
Mary looked away before Jero noticed, feeling that this guy's identity might be more complicated than she had imagined. However... this had nothing to do with her.
The two of them walked one after the other on the empty street. The monotonous "clacking" sound made Jello feel uncomfortable. He started talking again: "You are not Italian, why are you so good at Italian?"
"…Why do you think I'm not Italian?"
"Do you think you're Italian?" Jello grabbed Mary's arm and shook it like a chicken. "Every time you talk, your hands are like dead snakes. It makes me uncomfortable."
It turned out that the flaw was revealed here. Mary sighed in her heart. At first she thought Jello was cheating her.
Mary was trying to come up with an excuse to fool the tall Italian man, but he hadn't noticed. "Why are your hands so cold?" He frowned and wrapped his large palm around Mary's left hand. "That's not a normal body temperature at all. Are you cold?"
"It's not cold." Mary pulled her hand back, feeling that her palms were about to sweat from Jello's body temperature.
"If your hands are icy, that's even more of a problem." Jero Zeppelin was a little annoyed by Mary's perfunctory attitude. "Girl, let me tell you, the body needs to be taken care of. If a person doesn't take care of his own body, then death is not far away."
Mary really wanted to tell him that she had never been sick in her life and that her physique was miles better than his, but looking at his serious eyes, all she could do was nod: "Thank you for your teaching, I understand."
"You don't understand!" Jero's voice became louder and more aggressive. "I hate patients like you the most. You never listen to the doctor's advice and only make me anxious!"
But you didn't treat me either? As soon as Mary finished thinking this, Jeroboam pinched her cheeks and asked her to open her mouth.
Although she didn't understand what the other person was going to do, she knew that he was worried about her, so Mary opened her mouth obediently.
"Open wider!"
"Bigger!"
Mary clenched her fists, feeling that she had made the wrong decision. Jero Zeppelin, however, was completely oblivious to the fact that he was almost beaten. He tried to check her tongue in the dim light, not noticing that he was getting closer and closer to her.
"Strange... Your tongue looks really healthy... Tsk, you patients never treat your illnesses according to medical books..."
"Gerod Zeppeli, what are you doing?" A middle-aged man's voice came from not far away. Although it was not loud, the man who was pinching his cheeks shuddered with fear like a big golden retriever who was kicked.
He turned around reluctantly, hiding Mary behind his back, his expression indescribably embarrassed: "Oh... Dad... Why are you here?"
Jello's father didn't answer Jello's question, but continued to ask in a monotonous, mechanical voice: "Who is the woman behind you?"
Jero was speechless. It was a simple question, but beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. Mary felt strange about his nervousness, but she didn't dare to answer for Jero.
Every place has its own customs. If she says something wrong, the outcome may be bad.
This was the experience Mary had gained after lurking around Fanny Valentine and watching many big scenes.
The man who had been so carefree just a moment ago now stood up straight, his arms pressed against his trouser seams, looking like a soldier facing his superiors. Seeing this, his father's frown relaxed slightly.
The way this father and son get along is so weird. Mary hides in Jello's shadow and doesn't understand how long they will be deadlocked over this little thing.
"...lover." Jello finally spoke. He paused, then suddenly moved his body, exposing Mary completely to her father.
After hearing this, Mary wanted to turn around and leave, but thinking that Blackmoya was still in the other party's inpatient department, she did not move.
Seeing her like this, Jello lowered his head to tidy up her hair, and taking advantage of his father's blind spot, he made crazy eyes at her, ruining her beautiful facial features to a point that was too disgusting to look at.
Mary turned her head away, confused by Jello's meaning. Jello then spoke to his father again, more confident than before. "Dad, this is my girlfriend, Mary. We just confirmed our relationship today." He took Mary's hand and continued, "I'm about to take her home. I'll be back late tonight. Is that okay?"
His father nodded, which made Jello overjoyed. He was about to say something, but his father spoke first: "Remember to get up early tomorrow morning." After that, he nodded stiffly to Mary as a greeting, then turned and left.
After his father walked away and could no longer be seen, Jello howled in despair, muttering, "It's over, it's over, it's over..."
Seeing the other person's desperate look, Mary didn't feel anything. She just thought that the other person's facial expressions were so rich that it was amazing.
"Are you still leaving? If you don't, I'll leave." Seeing that the other party seemed to be determined to stay here until the end of time, Mary took a step forward.
"Leave? God, you...ah..." Jero Zeppelin smiled bitterly: "We are in big trouble."
