Chapter 39 I lied to you, I'm sorry

Seeing that she still didn't speak, Wen Zhaonian's eyes darkened, but he didn't want to press her any further.

Just as I was about to sit up straight again, I felt someone tug at the fabric of my forearm.

Meeting his gaze, Li Tangyan pursed her lips.

Then, as a sigh landed, she tugged at the corner of her mouth.

He gave a wry smile: "Wen Zhaonian, you know everything, don't you?"

I lied to you, I'm sorry.

Snap—

As a gust of cold wind blew down the snow covering the trees, the children who were still building snowmen nearby were startled and ran into the building in the next second.

The snowflakes that were lifted into the air paused for a moment before slowly falling back down, landing on the snowman's carrot nose.

Inside the car, Wen Zhaonian closed the half-open window again, blocking out the cold wind that occasionally blew in from outside.

He turned to look at Li Tangyan, only to find that a patch of frost had fallen on her head sometime earlier.

The hand resting on one side moved unconsciously, but before it could be raised...

Suddenly, Li Tangyan's intertwined fingers stopped.

When she looked at him again, he appeared very serious, but she failed to notice that the corners of her eyes had reddened without her noticing.

She spoke slowly, her voice slightly choked: "It was only me who was thinking of myself, and I provoked you without considering the consequences."

"I don't want this to happen, but..."

Wen Zhaonian didn't disturb her and just listened quietly, but Li Tangyan still didn't finish speaking.

He lowered his eyes, then sniffed, his voice low, and said, "So if you want to break up, I have no objection."

As soon as Li Tangyan finished speaking, the atmosphere in the small space instantly froze.

Wen Zhaonian didn't speak, but the pressure around him noticeably decreased.

Looking in the rearview mirror, Li Tangyan noticed the sudden chill in his eyes.

At the same time, the taut jawline seemed to be suppressing some kind of restless emotion.

She opened her lips, her hand on the car door paused, and just as she was about to say something, she heard a snapping sound beside her ear.

That's the sound of the car locking.

Before she could speak again, a soft sneer escaped from Wen Zhaonian's Adam's apple as he moved.

The next second, Wen Zhaonian had already grabbed her hand, his fingertips gently tracing the skin of her wrist, bringing a slight itch.

His eyes were dark, like a bottomless vortex, and when he looked at Li Tangyan, it was as if he wanted to drag her into it and entangle her to the death.

He spoke again, his deep voice carrying a subtle sense of pressure: "Li Tangyan, if I really minded, I wouldn't have played these tricks with you."

"Am I fucking crazy for having nothing better to do?"
