Chapter 39 I lied to you, I'm sorry

—Wen Zhaonian.

—Haven't you two been together for a while now?

When Li Tangyan came out of Dr. Guo's office, the words she had just said kept repeating in her mind.

The hospital corridor was filled with the sounds of conversations from people coming and going.

The light filtering in through the exit couldn't dispel the chill that had just swept over me when the cool breeze blew by.

Li Tangyan has low blood sugar, and because she left in a hurry this morning without having time to eat, she now feels her mind is being overwhelmed by chaotic thoughts, which also brings a sudden dizziness.

Even her slightly parted lips had become somewhat pale.

Li Tangyan stood leaning against the wall for a while.

She blinked and closed her eyes repeatedly, and after a while, she casually found a place to sit down.

I was just about to rummage through my bag for the fructose I always keep as a spare when I realized that I hadn't had time to pack it in before leaving the house.

Thinking of this, I couldn't help but sigh.

At the same time, as my gaze fell downwards, I saw a pair of high heels on the floor in front of me.

As soon as Li Tangyan looked up, she met Cen Ruan's gaze.

She maintained a condescending posture, with a bag loosely slung over her forearm.

While looking at Li Tangyan, he also glanced at the psychiatric clinic not far away.

As if remembering something, the mockery in his eyes vanished in an instant: "Oh, here for a follow-up appointment?"

"Why didn't I see Wen Zhaonian come with you?"

As she spoke, she pretended to suddenly realize something, her words tinged with a hint of smugness: "I almost forgot, today is the day of the court hearing."

"Without the key witness, he really doesn't have time to deal with you right now."

Although Cen Ruan had been humiliated by Wen Zhaonian some time ago, she later agreed to testify in court.

But then, for reasons unknown, it happened again.

Surprisingly, he changed his mind just days before the trial, which disrupted many of their previous plans.

Wen Zhaonian?

When Wen Zhaonian's name appeared in someone else's mouth again, it felt as if a string in Li Tangyan's mind suddenly tightened.

A certain suspicion, accompanied by increasingly rapid breathing, made her voice low and heavy: "What does this have to do with him?"

Li Tangyan's words startled Cen Ruan, who had been smug.

He then gave her a strange look: "Didn't Wen Zhaonian tell you? He already knew you had psychological problems."

As she was speaking, Cen Ruan's phone rang.

She glanced at the number on it, then decided not to continue talking to Li Tangyan.

Seeing Li Tangyan's slightly pale face, he didn't take it too seriously.

After clicking her tongue, she parted her red lips slightly and muttered under her breath, still somewhat unwilling, "Forget it, it's a waste of energy to talk to you anymore."

*

Cen Ruan's figure walked further and further away until it completely disappeared from her sight, only then did Li Tangyan's wavering thoughts finally come back to normal.

If what Dr. Guo just said made her have doubts...

Cen Ruan's words completely confirmed the suspicions she had never believed in.

For such a long time, Li Tangyan believed that she had kept her situation a complete secret from Wen Zhaonian.

But I never imagined that the person had known all along.

Thinking of this, her face grew even paler, and she could no longer tell whether it was due to the increasingly severe dizziness or some other reason.

So how does Wen Zhaonian view her now? Does he think she's a complete fraud?

While saying they like someone, they also think about backing down after receiving a response.

Once this thought entered her mind, Li Tangyan instantly felt as if she had eaten a sour persimmon, which was not only unpalatable but also unbearably astringent.

She leaned against the wall and had just stood up when her phone beeped with a message notification.

Please call Yao Qing, the little fairy: [Zhouzhou, are you here yet? It's about to start.]

Chestnut porridge: [Immediately.]

After reading it, Li Tangyan casually sent a message and forced herself to leave, suppressing her discomfort.

Outside the clinic building, the sky appeared somewhat gloomy, with gathering dark clouds obscuring much of the sunlight.

As far as the eye could see, there was only a blanket of unmelted white snow.

The chill in the air made the surrounding environment seem somewhat desolate.

A cold wind blew by, stirring up some small snowflakes.

Suddenly, with a loud thud, after a brief silence, some people ran towards the direction where the girl had fallen.

—Hey, whose daughter is this?

—Call her family right away.

The sound was loud and urgent, and a certain place outside the clinic building instantly became noisy.

When Li Tangyan woke up again, the familiar surroundings made her quickly guess where she was.

I glanced at the time on my phone and my heart skipped a beat.

It has been some time since the court hearing.

Thinking of this, she had already lifted the covers and was about to get out of bed, but the movement was so big that she forgot that she was still on an IV drip.

The stinging pain on the back of her hand made her gasp.

At the same time, the scene was witnessed by someone who happened to push the door open and enter.

Yao Qing walked quickly to the bedside, her voice tinged with reproach: "Hey, what are you doing moving around like that? The IV drip isn't even finished yet."

What was the outcome of the court hearing?

Li Tangyan clearly didn't notice what she said. The moment Yao Qing leaned over, she grabbed her clothes, her face showing a hint of anxiety.

"We won." Seeing how anxious Li Tangyan was, Yao Qing didn't hide it and grinned.
