Wen Zhaonian was wondering where Li Tangyan would take him, but unexpectedly she took him to a rooftop.
A cool breeze gently lifted the hem of their clothes.
Li Tangyan brushed a few stray strands of hair that had fallen behind her ear, her gaze falling on the two overlapping shadows cast by the setting sun on the white wall beside her.
Her round, almond-shaped eyes curved slightly.
Then, she pulled Wen Zhaonian to sit down on a long bench that had been installed against the wall at some point.
As the two sat down side by side, they looked up and, apart from the distant scene composed of people and things, also saw the sun, half-hidden in the clouds, not yet fully set.
From a distance, it does look a bit like a salted egg yolk.
Wen Zhaonian glanced at her sideways and saw that the warm yellow light fell on Li Tangyan as if a thin layer of white had been spread on her.
Today, she had specially applied some lipstick, which made her lips slightly upturned, making her skin appear even whiter.
Suddenly, she gently grasped the hand that was placed at his side.
Wen Zhaonian raised an eyebrow, but before he could speak, he saw Li Tangyan, whose gaze was still fixed in front of him, open her lips.
The voice was slow and gentle.
I didn't tell you that, did I?
"My parents' relationship is like the wrong door gods; they haven't had a few days of mutual respect since they got married."
"Anyway, ever since I can remember, they have been arguing all the time, to the point that they can argue over something as trivial as a piece of clothing."
"After seeing so much of this, I don't know when I started to feel resistant to these things that might still be a distant part of my life."
"I don't want to live like them, I'm terrified."
"The years of arguing made the two of them increasingly disgusted with each other."
"The worst argument I remember was when I was in my senior year of high school, just before the college entrance exam. I don't remember exactly what happened that day."
"All I remember at the time was thinking about escaping that suffocating and out-of-control environment."
"And then you found this place?"
As she said this, her hand was clasped in someone else's palm, and at the same time, she heard Wen Zhaonian's voice slowly coming into her ear.
Li Tangyan nodded before continuing, "Yes, isn't it beautiful from here? It can make people forget a lot of unhappy things."
At this point, Li Tangyan turned her head and met his gaze.
Seeing that the person's brows had furrowed slightly, she chuckled softly.
Then, she wrapped her arm around Wen Zhaonian's arm, rested her head on his shoulder, and rubbed against him twice in a slightly coquettish manner.
"Hey, that's all in the past, don't keep a long face."
"I'm telling you this not to complain, but to apologize."
“I admit that I had generalized from a single case before.”
"Life is for us to live, so why should we refer to or be influenced by the lives of others?"
"Wen Zhaonian, I was wrong."
Her clear, bright eyes softened Wen Zhaonian's heart as he looked at her serious expression.
Then, as he raised his hand, he gently rubbed her hair at the back of her head twice.
The emotions that were gradually rising in my heart were about to fill my mind.
And the position of his chest began to vibrate more rapidly as his thoughts surged.
He opened his lips, about to say something, when he felt a lightness on his shoulder, and then saw Li Tangyan release the hand wrapped around his arm.
Her round eyes blinked twice, her gaze fixed directly on him.
Seeing Li Tangyan's extremely serious expression, Wen Zhaonian was secretly anticipating what she was going to say next, but as soon as Li Tangyan opened her mouth again, all he could think about was that she might as well not say anything.
She opened her lips and said something.
"Don't worry, I promise I won't treat you badly again."
“…”
