Everything around her was bustling with activity, but Li Tangyan felt as if a large part of her heart was empty.

She sniffed, and before her eyes started to sting again, she turned her attention to the burger shop across the street.

She pushed open the door and walked straight to the order counter, opening her lips before the waiter could speak.

When Wen Zhaonian saw Li Tangyan eating at a table near the outside of the hamburger shop through the glass window, he had just run an errand for Xing Mingming and was on his way home.

Through the half-open car window, Wen Zhaonian glanced at the pile of food laid out in front of her on the narrow table, and her brows furrowed slightly.

The next second, before Wen Zhaonian could react, he had already turned the car around and parked it in a parking space.

Wen Zhaonian got out of the car and immediately walked towards the hamburger shop without stopping.

Half an hour ago, Li Tangyan had just finished eating two hamburgers and a Coke.

Wen Zhaonian's appearance startled Li Tangyan. After she came to her senses, she tried to pull her hand away, but he held on even tighter.

Her long, curled eyelashes trembled, then quickly drooped as she turned her head.

A shadow fell over her, obscuring the thoughts in her eyes.

Li Tangyan stared at the last remaining hamburger in her hand for a long while.

When he spoke again, his tone was ambiguous: "Your joke isn't funny at all."
