Snap—
The seatbelt buckle was unbuckled, and then Wen Zhaonian leaned towards her.
Before long, a shadow fell over Li Tangyan's eyes, and the small space became even more cramped as he approached.
You could smell the familiar scent on Wen Zhaonian with every breath he exhaled.
The sudden magnification of his face as he moved created an overwhelming visual impact.
Unconsciously, Li Tangyan gripped the seatbelt around her.
His throat felt dry, and even the simple act of swallowing became stiff: "What, what are you going to do?"
On the other side, Wen Zhaonian looked at Li Tangyan, who was already shrinking as much as possible and was practically glued to the car door, and found it somewhat amusing.
Her gaze was fixed on him, and soon her eyes welled up with tears.
That bluffing act, when it really comes to something, makes him seem more like prey with its limbs bound than his usual relentless, aggressive flirting.
They didn't even dare to struggle, for fear that they would be skinned and gutted before they could even resist.
"You haven't answered my question yet." In the cramped space, Wen Zhaonian's voice grew even deeper, and the end of his words always carried a dangerous, luring tone that seemed to trap someone.
"Are you sure you want me to say it?" Li Tangyan raised her eyes, her voice tinged with caution.
Wen Zhaonian nodded without pausing: "Confirmed."
"Then don't you dare smash my head like a watermelon when I tell you!"
"If you don't tell me, I'm going to get a knife."
"..."
Tch, what an impatient person.
Li Tangyan pouted, unable to help but mutter a complaint in her heart.
But in the end, under Wen Zhaonian's increasingly scorching gaze, he glanced away and instead focused his attention on a willow tree outside the car window.
She touched her nose, trying to hide her embarrassment, while her ear tips turned red: "Then let's love Plato."
Her voice was very soft, and she didn't even know if Wen Zhaonian could hear her after she finished speaking.
At the same time, a night breeze blew by, and Li Tangyan saw the branches and leaves of the willow tree outside the car window sway twice.
Then a few flakes drifted down and landed on the empty gravel road...
Li Tangyan was so stunned that she didn't even notice the low, hoarse laugh that came from above her head after a moment of silence.
She turned around and found that the shadow that had been looming over her was gone, and Wen Zhaonian, who had been wearing a stern face, was now back in the driver's seat.
The expression on her face was unusually relaxed.
"Li Tangyan, are you really that bold to say such things?" Wen Zhaonian laughed for a while before stopping.
He restarted the car without turning his head, but looked at Li Tangyan's face, which was already flushed red, through the rearview mirror, with a meaningful look.
"If you don't ask, would I tell you?" Li Tangyan pretended not to understand the deeper meaning in his words.
However, the person who was usually aloof seemed to be teasing her, his burning gaze falling on her from time to time, making her feel a little embarrassed out of nowhere.
She gave a soft hum, unable to escape his gaze, she instinctively grabbed her hood and put it back on, then turned to the side, crossed her arms, and began to play dead.
Seeing this, it's unclear whether Wen Zhaonian had a change of heart or not, but he didn't dwell on the matter any further.
The car fell silent again, and there was no further movement until it came to a safe stop downstairs in Li Tangyan's residential area.
Li Tangyan unbuckled her seatbelt, said thank you with a buzzing sound, and then prepared to get out of the car.
However, before her hand could even touch the doorknob, Wen Zhaonian's voice rang out again from behind: "It's fake."
"?"
She turned around and happened to see the slight upward shrug of Wen Zhaonian's shoulder: "Don't you understand? That was called 'reasonably avoiding unwanted romantic advances.' You actually believed that? You're really easy to fool."
Wen Zhaonian seemed to be in a good mood, his eyes sparkling like stars.
The light from the streetlights outside the car window fell on him, casting a shadow behind him.
He smiled, a small smile, yet it was a warmth even greater than that beam of light.
Faced with such beauty, Li Tangyan, who should have succumbed to temptation, pinched her thigh to keep herself calm.
She seems easy to fool.
This is the second time Li Tangyan has heard this from Wen Zhaonian today.
Li Tangyan was somewhat unconvinced, after all, these words sounded as if she were on the same level as those children who could be easily tricked with a lollipop.
Her hand touched the car door switch, even though Wen Zhaonian could not see her expression as she turned her back to him.
But Li Tangyan still tilted her head back, her voice soft and ambiguous: "Don't underestimate me, maybe one day I'll even fool you..."
"Oh? I'll be watching with interest."
In the cramped space, Wen Zhaonian's magnetic voice came again, and the faint scent of soap wafted into the nose from behind, as if subtly stirring the mind of the other person in the car.
He didn't refute her, and even continued along with Li Tangyan's words with a hint of a smile.
Li Tangyan knew that Wen Zhaonian did not believe her, and while she was somewhat discouraged, she could not think of any other words to refute him.
A soft humming sound appeared again, followed by the sound of the car door being pulled open.
Even as the car door closed again, Wen Zhaonian couldn't have foreseen that one day Li Tangyan's words would become a self-fulfilling prophecy...
Wen Zhaonian looked away and was about to restart the car.
But the next second, he saw in the rearview mirror that Li Tangyan, who was about to step into the residential building, turned around and ran back.
Soon, someone knocked on the car window from the outside.
