Chapter 57: My alcohol tolerance is indeed a bit low.

When Li Tangyan returned to the private room, the karaoke king on stage had been replaced by Zheng Chuanyi, and Wen Zhaonian, who had been sitting next to him, was nowhere to be seen.

Beside her, Zhou Sui saw Li Tangyan pretending not to care, but her eyes were already unconsciously searching for her.

As he understood, he leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Not long after you left, Attorney Wen also went out and hasn't come back yet."

"And look at that..."

As she spoke, Zhou Sui pointed to the empty beer cans on their table and lowered her voice further: "He drank them."

"Doesn't Wen Zhaonian not drink alcohol?" Upon hearing this, Li Tangyan unconsciously frowned.

From the moment Li Tangyan met Wen Zhaonian, she knew that he never drank alcohol.

As for the reasons, some say he can't hold his liquor, others say he simply doesn't like it; there are all sorts of explanations, and opinions vary widely.

"Yes, but he did drink it, and he drank several cans when no one was looking."

"I guess something happened. He didn't look too good when he left."

"Hey, I never thought our lawyer Wen would have such a moment of despair. Suddenly I feel a bit better, hahaha."

Whether it was intentional or not, the baby was still talking to himself on his first birthday.

When they finished speaking, they saw Li Tangyan lower her eyes and then let out a long sigh, feigning concern.

Upon hearing this, Li Tangyan realized that it was no use pretending not to care anymore.

Just as Zhou Sui was about to lower her voice and sigh for the second time, she turned around and walked out of the private room.

The rotating lights embedded in the ceiling were still scattering various colors of light, which fell on the walls and became swaying light and shadows of various shapes.

Xiang Xiang walked to Zhou Sui's side, looking at Li Tangyan's back without turning around, and asked with a puzzled expression: "Hey, where is Li Zi going again? Why are you in such a hurry?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhou Sui chuckled twice.

Before turning to compete with Zheng Chuan for the title of karaoke king, her clear voice, mixed with the soothing love song, carried a hint of unspoken delight.

"Where else can we go? To pursue love."

Li Tangyan found Wen Zhaonian at the rooftop open-air bar.

At that time, he was facing away from himself.

With my hand resting on the bamboo railing, I gazed at the distant night view, brightly lit. The usual traffic and houses had become tiny, yet bright, dots of light.

In the azure sky, the full moon hangs high, its bright light seemingly veiled by a thin layer of clouds.

The evening breeze lifted a strand of hair from his head. His figure was tall and slender, but now his eyes held a hint of aloofness and coldness.

"Why did you come up here alone?" Li Tangyan walked slowly to his side, the familiar scent of soap mixed with a faint smell of alcohol.

As she spoke, she frowned and snatched the glass of wine from Wen Zhaonian's hand, placing it aside.

The glass was cool to the touch, and as the water droplets on it fell from her fingertips to the ground, the ice cubes inside collided with the liquid, making a crisp sound as Li Tangyan moved.

Wen Zhaonian turned her head to look at Li Tangyan, her dark eyes filled with thoughts that Li Tangyan couldn't understand.

He looked at Li Tangyan and noticed that her fair face had inexplicably taken on a hint of dissatisfaction.

Wen Zhaonian looked at her quietly for a few seconds, and though he wanted to reach out and gently touch her brow, he ultimately did not.

When he opened his mouth, it was hard to tell how much of his clear voice was genuine.

"I feel dizzy, so I came out for some fresh air."

As soon as she finished speaking, Li Tangyan's brows furrowed even deeper, and the glass that had been placed aside was pushed even further away from him as if she were venting her anger.

However, this childish act stirred Wen Zhaonian's heart.

Soon, he heard Li Tangyan pretend to be disgusted, sniff at him, and then say irritably, "You deserve it, who told you to drink!"

After saying that, she glanced at Wen Zhaonian's slightly pale face in the night, and finally couldn't suppress the urge to "meddle" in other people's business.

Li Tangyan tugged at his sleeve in a fit of anger, her voice muffled: "Go home and rest."

Li Tangyan drove over today, so after sending a message to Zhou Sui to explain the situation, she took Wen Zhaonian home.

Wen Zhaonian's residence remained unchanged, thus saving Li Tangyan the trouble of having to re-navigate.

He probably really drank too much tonight; aside from telling her the address, he spent the rest of the time resting with his eyes closed in the passenger seat.

When the car arrived at its destination, the night outside the window had grown even darker.

After parking the car, Li Tangyan turned her head and glanced at Wen Zhaonian.

His thin lips were pursed, and his long eyelashes still fell under his eyes as he closed them, casting a slightly light shadow in the dappled light.

After looking at it for a while, Li Tangyan thought for a moment and then reached out and shook Wen Zhaonian.

Soon, her long eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings.

Wen Zhaonian lifted his eyelids slightly, but his dark eyes were not drowsy.

"Um?"

As he opened his lips, his voice became slightly hoarse.

Good grief, so he didn't sleep at all.

Li Tangyan thought this, but still didn't show it.

Regardless of whether Wen Zhaonian was pretending to be stupid or not, he pointed outside, following Wen Zhaonian's lead.

"We're here. I won't go up with you. You're not so drunk that you can't find your way home, are you?"

Li Tangyan thought that Wen Zhaonian should be able to understand the implication in her words.

However, Wen Zhaonian raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose, his brows furrowing slightly as if he were in some discomfort.

When she spoke again, her grainy voice carried a pitiful tone that was hard to tell if she was deliberately trying to elicit sympathy: "I don't recognize her."

"Headache."

“…”

Ultimately, Li Tangyan decided to see it through to the end and took the lawyer who was complaining of a "headache" onto the elevator.

The elevator was empty, so it felt rather spacious when the two of them stepped inside.

As Li Tangyan stood beside him, her gaze fixed on the fluctuating numbers above her head, she felt the faint scent of alcohol mixed with soapy fragrance suddenly intensify after brushing against her shoulders.

Without realizing it, Li Tangyan's heart skipped a beat.

Her long eyelashes fluttered, and as her gaze fell upon the two figures reflected in the elevator doors, it immediately locked onto the person beside her.

She didn't speak, nor did she even look up to ask Wen Zhaonian.

But the person easily caught the glimpse of the person peeking through the elevator door.

Immediately, he moved another step to the side as if nothing had happened, his expression unchanged, and his words seemed completely sincere: "Sorry, I lost my balance for a moment."

Her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, settled again with those words, but at the same time, a strange, inexplicable heaviness arose in Li Tangyan's heart.

She tried to dispel the sense of loss that had quietly arisen in her heart.

After saying "Oh," his voice unconsciously lowered: "I see. Then your alcohol tolerance is indeed a bit low."

“…”
