"What's wrong?" The guests were all startled.
“We were surrounded by thick fog, and now our spiritual senses and the instruments on the ship have all failed. We can’t find our way back.” Yani frowned.
“We can just go back the way we came. We’ve been driving in this direction the whole time, so we can just turn back,” one guest objected.
“The environment here is very strange. We thought we were going in one direction, but we weren’t actually walking in a straight line. I only just realized that myself.” Yani shook her head slightly.
“The people on board are no pushovers. Can’t you sense that the direction has gone astray? Let me try.” The guest clearly didn’t believe him and flew directly out from the bow of the ship. He flew about a hundred meters away, but worried that it would be dangerous if he left the sight of the others, so he quickly flew back.
"See? I flew in a straight line just now, didn't I?"
The people on the ship looked at each other strangely: "Are you sure you flew in a straight line?"
"Of course!" the guest said proudly. "Such a short distance, do you think I can't even tell if it's a straight line?"
At this point, his expression suddenly changed: "Could it be that I wasn't flying in a straight line just now?"
Everyone shook their heads: "You were going left and right, and then you were going around in circles."
"How is that possible!" The man was speechless on the spot, and began to doubt himself. Did he really not even have this kind of judgment?
At this point, another guest worried that he and Yani were conspiring to deceive everyone, since those who could come to the Dreamland were all intelligent people, so he decided to verify it himself and flew out as well.
After flying back, he looked directly at Isabella and asked, "Your Excellency Isabella, was I walking in a straight line just now?"
He didn't trust anyone else, but the eldest daughter of the Arcadia family would never be bribed to help deceive people.
Isabella shook her head slightly: "You and the previous one were both wobbly after you flew out, but your flight path was a little different from his. You circled around a few more times, and the direction was also different."
Hearing her say this, many people on the ship turned pale. It was over. Two results that were so close together still had different flight paths, proving that the rules around them were constantly changing randomly, and it was unlikely that anyone could figure out a pattern.
Alfred spoke up: "This place must have been affected by something or some great power that has altered the fundamental laws, which is why this problem has occurred."
"Could it be the God of Death? I just ran into the former messenger of the God of Death outside."
"How is that possible? The God of Death has been missing for countless years, and no one has ever found his trace. How could we possibly run into him by chance?"
"That's right, there's absolutely no death aura around."
...
There's another reason that no one has mentioned: if it really is related to the God of Death, how could they not have discovered it all these years, given that the Dreamland is so close and so powerful?
"So what should we do next? Are we just going to wander around aimlessly like this?" Someone's voice trembled slightly. Everyone knew that going back might lead them further astray from where they came from, but continuing forward would be like looking for a needle in a haystack if they wanted to find anything.
“Actually, if it’s just about determining the direction, I do have a way.” As she spoke, Isabella took out a transparent glass fish tank from her bag. Inside, a strange little fish was swimming among the water plants. “This is an east-facing fish. No matter how complicated the environment, it will always face east.”
"As expected of Miss Isabella, she has so many treasures on her."
"I've heard legends about this fish. It's associated with many labyrinthine and mysterious places that are practically impossible to navigate. If this thing existed, the difficulty would drop dramatically."
"Great! With this fish, we can go back."
...
What shocked Zuan even more was that she could actually take out living creatures from that bag?
You know, spatial artifacts can only hold inanimate objects, so is her bag some kind of hidden world?
The others stared excitedly at the fish, hoping it would point them in the right direction.
After watching for a while, I realized that the fish was swimming around in the water, but it was just going in circles and could never find its direction.
Perhaps it felt immense pressure from so many people watching, and in the end it simply lay flat on its back, belly up, and refused to swim anymore.
Seeing this, everyone was speechless.
Isabella's face flushed; she knew how embarrassed she felt now, knowing how much everyone had just praised her for her hard work.
"What's going on? This fish facing east has never had any problems before."
Seeing that she was so embarrassed that she was about to cry, Zuan comforted her, "I guess the fog here is not a simple maze, but a distortion of some kind of law that makes directions meaningless. Naturally, it can no longer determine which way is east."
The others echoed her sentiments, and Isabella couldn't help but glance gratefully at Zaun.
Alfred then spoke up: "It's as if the thing that distorted this location is too powerful to even make the East-facing fish ineffective. Does anyone have any other ideas? We need to brainstorm now and stop hiding our thoughts."
This time, the guests didn't hold back. Someone scattered beans to create soldiers, and paper figures flew in all directions. Soon, a holographic map appeared in mid-air, clearly indicating that those paper figures were no ordinary items.
The joy of the crowd was short-lived, when suddenly the map in mid-air flickered and disappeared completely. The guest was even more frustrated, pounding his chest and stamping his feet: "My paper doll!"
It turned out that none of the paper figures flew back.
Another guest sneered inwardly. It was obvious that there was something wrong with the surrounding environment, yet they still dared to let the magic weapon fly out. How foolish!
He took out a Bagua compass, turned it with his hand, and the entire compass began to spin rapidly, making a rather mysterious sound.
