Chapter 231 Jing Shuo Demands Zheng Yutong to be Sent to the Eastern Palace

Suddenly, the personal maidservant of Empress Zheng walked out of the palace with an imposing manner.

Seeing the chaos outside, she strode over, first bowing to Empress Ye and Yue Jiang, then shouting.

"The Empress Dowager is resting. If you don't keep a close eye on Miss Zheng, how can you explain disturbing her rest?"

"Look, even the Empress and the Crown Princess have been surprised by you. Take Miss Zheng back to her room."

“Yes,” the two palace maids dared not disobey and hurriedly dragged Zheng Yutong away.

Zheng Yutong had completely wilted when she saw her great-aunt's personal maidservant approach her. She stopped uttering any indistinct words and just smiled foolishly. In the blink of an eye, she was led away by the maidservant beside her.

The palace maid beside Empress Dowager Zheng smiled and said, "Your Majesty, the Crown Princess has disturbed you. This servant will see you off."

Yue Jiang wanted to ask, but knew she wouldn't get an answer.

Empress Ye led Yue Jiang out of the Longevity Palace and sighed with pity.

"Yutong and Suyun are both children who grew up in the palace. I have watched them grow up. It's a pity that neither of them had a good life."

Yue Jiang was surprised to see Zheng Yutong in this state, but she had already heard about Cheng Suyun's ordeal.

After her miscarriage, Cheng Suyun's health deteriorated day by day. Over time, she became weak and bloodless, and she passed away before she could survive the winter, in the first year of Jing Lu's expedition.

Empress Dowager Cheng severed ties with Cheng Suyun, and the Cheng family pretended they had no daughter. As a result, no one cared about Cheng Suyun after her death, so Princess Zhao Nianfu buried her with the rites due to a concubine.

Now, because Zhao Nianfu's family is involved in Jing Lu's rebellion, Jing Huaixu has not let them go.

Before bestowing poisoned wine upon Jinglu, he ransacked the home of the Left Chancellor Zhao and sent the Zhao family, including Zhao Nianfu, to the execution ground.

Zheng Yutong, while not as hostile as Cheng Suyun towards Yue Jiang in the past, had still tried to harm her.

This time, he deliberately barged into her side, and Yue Jiang felt that there was something hidden about it.

Back at the East Palace, the more she thought about it, the more problematic it became, so she talked to Jingyan about it and they discussed the reasons together.

"Does Jiang'er doubt that Zheng Yutong has lost her mind?" Jing Yan.

Yue Jiang wasn't sure: "I'm not sure if it's true or not, but Zheng Yutong must have something to say, but she just happened to hurt herself with her tongue. Doesn't Your Highness find that strange?"

"It's a pity that Zheng Yutong has difficulty speaking now. I wanted to ask her today, but the palace maid from Empress Dowager Zheng's side came out and took her back."

"I have no reason to forcibly interrogate a mentally unstable person in broad daylight, but I always feel that she will say something important."

"Given her current state, she won't easily summon the Longevity Palace!"

The fact that Anguo was a spy was difficult to ascertain; their actions were sometimes apparent and sometimes not.

It was either a secret letter or a piece of jade that suddenly appeared before him, with no other clues whatsoever. Jing Yan had not yet found any other useful clues, and the only thing he could do was to be cautious.

Yue Jiang had another doubt, so Jing Yan wanted to help her resolve it. He had an idea.

“That’s easy. Zheng Yutong is Jing Shuo’s wife. If he goes to ask for her, there’s no reason for Changshou Palace not to give it to him.”

Yue Jiang suddenly realized: "That's right, if they want to meet, no one can stop them."

Jing Shuo was a prince, so there was no such thing as divorce. Even though he left the palace back then, Zheng Yutong stayed in Changshou Palace, and their marital relationship remained unchanged.

Jing Shuo was still upset about Jing Lu's quick death. If it weren't for the strict guarding of Huayi Palace, he would have loved to burn the coffin in Huayi Palace.

He was plotting that when Jing Lu was buried, he would secretly dig up Jing Lu's remains and scatter his ashes to prevent him from entering the cycle of reincarnation.

This time, instead of waiting for Jing Lu's body, Jing Yan asked him to go to the Longevity Palace to find his princess whom he hadn't seen for several years.

Jing Shuo had no feelings for Zheng Yutong, and even seeing her reminded him of Jing Lu's face, so he didn't want to go.

But he could also take advantage of Empress Dowager Zheng's illness to cause trouble. Without saying a word, Jing Shuo led his men into the Changshou Palace.

The people from Yongshou Palace never came on their own initiative. The palace servants inside saw Jing Shuo approaching with his cane, his voice growing increasingly chilling and menacing.

Jing Shuo watched with amusement, and said defiantly.

"Zheng Yu..." He opened his mouth, then realized he had said the wrong thing and should have been more intimate, so he immediately corrected himself.

"My queen has been gone for many years. I miss her and want to bring her back to the palace to rekindle our marital bliss."

"Miss Zheng has lost her mind, and the Empress Dowager won't let her go out," the palace maid kept backing away, still referring to Zheng Yutong as an unmarried woman.

Jing Shuo's eyes turned cold, and he waved for the eunuchs behind him to go find her: "What Miss Zheng? Even if my lawfully wedded princess is dead, I will carry her body back to the manor. So what if she's gone mad?"

Jing Shuo made a big commotion. When Empress Dowager Zheng learned that Jing Shuo had come, she was helped out by palace servants.

As soon as she stepped out of the door, she saw Jing Shuo waving for people to enter her Longevity Palace, and Empress Dowager Zheng shouted angrily.

"Jingshuo, how dare you cause trouble on my territory? What, are you trying to annoy me because I'm sick, so I'll walk faster?"

Jing Shuo chuckled casually, his denial in a very perfunctory tone: "How dare I, your grandson? I only hope that Grandmother Zheng lives a long and healthy life, otherwise how can I bear to see my brother Jing Lu's coffin laid to rest peacefully?"

He symbolically explained his purpose: "Grandmother Zheng has forgotten, hasn't she? Yu Tong is my princess consort. Father has never separated us. I've come to take her back to the palace."

Empress Dowager Zheng sneered: "You brought her back to the manor, but she has been driven insane by your torment. Are you trying to kill her? I will not allow it. Take your people and get out."

Jing Shuo's cold smile remained, his words full of sarcasm: "Grandmother Zheng's words are quite meaningless. I was almost killed by her back then, and I'm fine, but she's gone mad."

"Let her go crazy. Grandmother Zheng didn't take good care of her at all, leaving her mute and injured. Yutong is my grandson's lawfully wedded princess."

"My grandson has been alone for many years, with no one by his side and no children. Now he cherishes the bond between him and Yutong, sincerely apologizes, and wants to bring her back to the mansion to live a good life together."

"Grandmother Zheng, please don't separate us as husband and wife and leave your grandson a widower for life."

"You..." Empress Dowager Zheng's face turned red with anger at Jing Shuo's shameless words, and she coughed several times.

Jing Shuo's men caught a glimpse of Zheng Yutong and quickly pointed, "Your Highness, the Princess Consort is over there."

Jing Shuo looked over and saw that it was indeed Zheng Yutong. He immediately ordered someone to bring Zheng Yutong out.

Zheng Yutong was acting erratically when she was suddenly grabbed and dragged. Startled, she cried out and struggled to run towards the back hall of the Longevity Hall.

Jing Shuo reacted quickly, walking over with his cane and using his other free hand to restrain Zheng Yutong, forcing her to look at him, and whispering suggestive words.

“Good Princess, you rushed up to talk to your sister-in-law the other day, but why do you run away as soon as you see me?”

After Jing Shuo finished speaking, he carefully observed her reaction. However, when Zheng Yutong met Jing Shuo's eyes directly, she seemed to see something terrifying and struggled even more fiercely.

However, Zheng Yutong's hands were not in a convenient position, so she couldn't dodge and instinctively bit Jing Shuo's hand.

Jing Shuo's face contorted in pain, but he held back his rage, convinced that Zheng Yutong was truly insane.
