Chapter 232 Yue Jiang Turns the Pages to Guide Zheng Yutong

Empress Dowager Zheng, standing in the corridor, saw Jing Shuozhen snatching someone away directly, and she touched her chest, burning with rage.

"Jingshuo, if you want a princess, you can simply remarry a normal woman. Yutong is mentally unstable; where are you going to take her?"

Jing Shuo's hand was still in Zheng Yutong's mouth, and his whole posture was bent. Given that Zheng Yutong was really crazy, he couldn't easily leave her behind.

He forced Zheng Yutong to leave the Longevity Palace with him, and said to himself as they walked.

“A madman and a cripple are a perfect match. I will not harm good girls anymore. Grandmother Zheng, please rest assured. If Yutong is not used to living in the Prince’s Mansion, I will send her back to you.”

Immediately, Jing Shuo and his group rushed out of the Longevity Hall.

After the palace returned to calm, Empress Dowager Zheng's furious expression gradually disappeared.

She dismissed the surrounding palace servants, leaving only her personal old nanny. Empress Dowager Zheng seemed to be talking to herself, or perhaps to the departing servants, saying, "They're courting death."

After a long while, she turned back and gazed at the old nanny who had been with her for decades, her eyes filled with reluctance.

"Poor Yutong, it is I who have wronged her."

The old nanny couldn't bear it: "Your Majesty the Empress Dowager has worked hard all her life. It was Miss Zheng who had other thoughts behind your back. If she hadn't been thinking about Prince Li, how could she have ended up like this?"

Empress Dowager Zheng shook her head and sighed: "Yu Tong has been by my side for a long time, and there are some things that cannot be hidden from her. But even if there are capable people in the Eastern Palace who can cure the disease, what can they do against a life that can pass in the blink of an eye?"

"It's all my fault. I was careless. I didn't know she and Lu'er had been having an affair all these years. Although Lu'er shut Yu Tong up, he was really ruthless. But at this point, one of us has to be sacrificed."

"They replied that they would keep their promise once they got what they wanted. I only hope they will not go back on their word again."

"Once Lu'er is buried, I will give him a peaceful new life, and then I will have no worries."

Finally, her gaze fell unfocused on the courtyard, and she said with a sense of loss, "What a tragedy! I have no face to see the late Emperor."

"Don't say that, you were forced into it," the old nanny comforted her, and then said, "In a moment, this old servant will go and tell His Majesty that Prince Jing has broken in and taken Miss Zheng away, and we will get Miss Zheng back."

...

The Eastern Palace.

Jing Shuo brought Zheng Yutong to the East Palace without stopping, and immediately began to complain.

"I think she's really gone mad. She won't listen to anything I say the whole way, and she almost bit off my finger."

After Zheng Yutong arrived, Yue Jiang and Jing Yan arranged for her to stay at Shang Yu's residence. Shang Yu observed Zheng Yutong's condition for a long time before speaking.

"She is truly insane, likely due to fear. The Crown Princess said that Miss Zheng recognized her. I think her condition may fluctuate, and sometimes seeing things that frighten her can worsen her symptoms."

He carefully observed the source of Zheng Yutong's current fear, then glanced at Jing Shuo with Jing Yan, giving a subtle hint.

"For example, seeing Prince Jing."

When Zheng Yutong was in a good mood, she was afraid of Jing Shuo. She would push him and bump into Yue Jiang in order to get rid of him. It became a fear in her heart. Seeing him again would only make her more afraid.

Jing Shuo wanted to retort, but he subconsciously glared at her. Zheng Yutong started crying again, and he was speechless.

Jing Yan gestured to the outer room: "Go outside and wait."

Jing Shuo didn't care what happened to Zheng Yutong, and he limped out.

After Jing Shuo left, Yue Jiang asked anxiously, "Can it be cured?"

Shang Yu then placed his hand on Zheng Yutong's pulse, but before he could get a result, Zheng Yutong suddenly became short of breath and vomited a mouthful of blood, spraying it all over Shang Yu.

Zheng Yutong was about to roll her eyes and pass out when Shang Yu, disregarding the blood all over his body, pulled out silver needles and quickly inserted them into several important acupoints of Zheng Yutong.

It took dozens of acupuncture needles to stabilize Zheng Yutong's condition, but she was on the verge of death.

Shang Yu checked Zheng Yutong's pulse again, his expression grim, and said with concern.

“Miss Zheng is in poor health. In the past two years, she may have lost her mind and someone has been feeding her too many sedatives. The drugs have become poisonous, and she is already showing signs of not having long to live.”

Yue Jiang was caught off guard: "How could this happen?"

Jing Yan looked at Shang Yu: "Is there really no other way?"

Shang Yu wiped the blood from his face and shook his head weakly: "If it had been a month earlier, there might have been hope."

"Uh...uh..."

Several people were troubled by this matter. Zheng Yutong slowly regained consciousness. She saw Yue Jiang, reached out her hand and opened her mouth, wanting to speak, but she couldn't say anything no matter how hard she tried.

"You have something to say, don't you?" Seeing this, Yue Jiang had a feeling that Zheng Yutong had woken up and must have something very important to say.

Zheng Yutong tapped her stiff neck and tried to speak, but she couldn't utter any clear words.

After calming down, Yue Jiang noticed a row of bookshelves and immediately ordered, "Qingke, bring me a book."

A moment later, Qingke brought over a book. Yuejiang took it and turned the pages. There were many words on it, and she pointed them out to Zheng Yutong.

"I'll point to you, and you can nod when you see a word."

Zheng Yutong was exhausted, but she understood and nodded with difficulty.

As Yue Jiang turned the pages one by one, Zheng Yutong finally reacted on the fifth page, and Yue Jiang's finger landed on the character "Zheng".

Yue Jiang paused, then guessed, "It's Empress Dowager Zheng. If it is, just nod, and we'll move on to the next word."

Despite the pain all over her body, Zheng Yutong nodded. Yue Jiang also hurriedly flipped through the book, and when she came to the word "harm," Zheng Yutong blinked and nodded again.

After Yue Jiang remembered it, she pointed to the next character, until she landed on the character "月".

Zheng Yutong nodded to her again.

Jing Yan, standing nearby, suddenly noticed something amiss: "Yue Jiang, did the Empress Dowager harm Yue Jiang?"

Zheng Yutong blinked.

Not knowing what this meant by harming her, Yue Jiang asked tentatively, "Is it the time you fell into the water at the Longevity Palace?"
