Chapter 67: Did the loser enjoy sleeping with him?
Because of Zhou Jin's outburst, I lost interest in spending the remaining day in Qinghe City and returned to Nanhai City on Sunday noon.
Back at Xiting, Ke Yanchen was helping Yu Wu unpack her luggage. Yu Wu lay on the sofa, lazily asking Ke Yanchen, "What are we eating later?"
Ke Yanchen glanced casually at her and said in a low voice, "Your favorite boiled beef, three-color shrimp, and sweet and sour pork."
Yu Wu rolled over, finding a comfortable position, and asked again, "Are you going to Xu Shuwan's birthday party next Thursday?"
Ke Yanchen hummed in agreement, and while washing his hands, asked Yu Wu if she had prepared her dress.
After receiving no response for a while, he went over to check and found that she had closed her eyes and was sleeping soundly with even breathing. He smiled faintly, draped a blanket over her, and went to the kitchen.
...
Ke Yanchen finished cooking when he received a call from home saying that an elder had come and he needed to go back. He went to call Yu Wu to eat, but found that she was still asleep.
He affectionately kissed Yuwu's forehead, carried her to bed, and said in a deep voice, "I need to go home for a bit. Dinner is ready. Do you want to eat now or later?"
With her eyes closed, Yu Wu mumbled sleepily, "I want to sleep for a while."
The person in his arms was so small, slender and thin, without an ounce of excess fat, yet perfectly proportioned and curvaceous. Holding her filled him with overwhelming joy and happiness. Thinking of how her petite frame had dared to challenge Zhou Jin with such reckless courage, his heart ached.
Ke Yanchen gently placed her on the bed, pinched her nose, and said with a helpless yet doting tone, "You haven't done any work, and you're still tired."
Yu Wu closed her eyes, her sleeping face serene, uttering soft, indistinct sounds.
Ke Yanchen lowered his eyelids, stared intently at her for a long time, then curled his lips into a mischievous smile. He deliberately bit her ear, a sensitive spot, waiting for her to beg for mercy.
Yu Wu drew out her words, annoyed by his annoyance, and rolled over to cover her head with the blanket. She looked like she didn't want to talk to him.
The room was quiet and dimly lit. Only the two of them were in the cramped space, and the faint aroma of food wafted through the air. Ke Yanchen, who usually enjoyed a life of excitement and debauchery, was now strangely filled with a feeling of wanting to spend his life with her, like an old married couple, living a quiet and peaceful existence.
He sighed to himself, perhaps it was because he was getting older, and he was beginning to yearn for a simple and peaceful happiness.
Ke Yanchen tucked her in and couldn't resist giving her a kiss. He went out to seal the vegetables and put them in the refrigerator, and also took her trash downstairs.
*
Thursday is Xu Shuwan's birthday.
Xu Shuwan's birthday theme was "Every girl is a princess," requiring women to wear princess dresses and men to wear formal attire.
Yu Wu and Ke Yanchen had business to attend to at their respective companies, so they agreed to drive there separately.
After finishing her work, Yu Wu went home to change, only to discover that the blue Cinderella dress she had prepared in advance had inexplicably torn at the waist. It was difficult to find such a high-end, custom-made princess dress at this time of year. Reluctantly, her gaze swept over the dresses in the dressing room, and she sighed; they were all too sexy.
She wasn't Ke Yanchen's type.
Her eyelashes drooped, and thinking about Ke Yanchen's recent reactions, she decided to try him again. She casually picked out a black off-the-shoulder mini dress, reaching her thighs, with a long black tulle train that accentuated her voluptuous figure. She then put on high heels that she would never normally wear in front of Ke Yanchen, looked in the mirror, and changed her makeup.
...
The location was a century-old antique villa, its exterior wall reliefs weathered by nearly a hundred years of wind and rain, displaying varying shades of deep amber patterns. When Yu Wu arrived in ten-centimeter heels, the party was already in full swing.
Gilded bronze lamps cast a brilliant, warm yellow glow on the carved dome, making the century-old teak floor appear as if it had been soaked in honey. Elegantly dressed young men and women danced gracefully in the room, their necklaces and rings reflecting the sparkle of diamonds, while waiters carried crystal glasses as they moved among the crowd.
Perhaps it was because Yu Wu was so different from the girls on stage, who were dressed in elaborate, glittering princess dresses, that the pianist playing at the entrance froze upon seeing her. The piano music flowing across the stage abruptly stopped, and the handsome men and beautiful women dancing in the center all stopped their movements, looking towards the entrance in confusion, completely silent.
And so, under the watchful eyes of the entire audience, Yu Wu gracefully emerged in a long black gauze dress. Her brows and eyes held a cold, ruthless edge, her long, narrow eyes forming a pair of deep, alluring gazes—a truly captivating image of a wicked woman, inexplicably reminiscent of a certain character—
Tomie Kawakami
It completely dominated the scene.
The entire room fell silent, everyone staring intently at her. As the center of attention, Yu Wu, seemingly oblivious to everyone else, took the champagne from the waiter and walked straight towards Ke Yanchen, giving him a real boost in prestige.
Ke Yanchen, dressed in a black haute couture tailcoat with a black bow tie, exuded the arrogant and carefree air of a playboy, resembling a noble and handsome prince from a fairy tale.
...
Ke Yanchen usually prefers girls to wear soft, approachable colors like white and pink, and Yu Wu often wears this style as well. Last time, she drove her G-Wagon behind his back wearing a black dress, which was stunning, but he still preferred her innocent and cute style.
This time, feeling the ardent admiring gazes around him, he curled his lips slightly, put his arm around Yuwu's waist, and openly proclaimed his ownership to the whole world.
Even Xu Shuwan, who was socializing on her home turf, greeted Yu Wu and Ke Yanchen with a smile, which made everyone think more highly of Yu Wu.
The music continued, and the excitement in the center of the dance floor persisted.
...
After returning from smoking outside in the courtyard, Ao Ziye and Cheng Yi casually found a spot in a corner to drink.
Ao Ziye casually glanced at the handsome and refined man in the room, raised his chin, and clicked his tongue: "Look, Shu Yueqiao is shamelessly going back to his white moonlight again."
Cheng Yi glanced over coldly, his tone mocking: "Going so far as to use brothel tricks, how despicable."
"Hey, your Yuko is here too."
Cheng Yi froze, his breathing became heavy, and he didn't even dare to look in that direction. He didn't say anything and silently downed the entire glass of wine.
Ao Ziye watched with great interest Cheng Yi's distorted yet indifferent facial expression.
Cheng Yi lifted his eyelids and gave him a detached yet warning glance.
Ao Ziye felt a jolt in his heart and desperately suppressed the smirk that was about to burst from his lips.
...
Yu Wu accompanied Ke Yanchen to greet everyone he knew in the industry. Someone invited him to the courtyard to discuss some business, but he said goodbye to Yu Wu and left.
Yu Wu casually walked to the corner window, swirling the liquid in her wine glass, staring at Ke Yanchen and his group outside. The courtyard was beautiful with flowers and plants, and the evening breeze rustled down white petals. Ke Yanchen glanced over, his cold, deep eyes giving her a slight smile. She smiled back, her eyes unreadable.
She turned around when someone lightly bumped her shoulder.
Cheng Yi continued walking forward expressionlessly.
She felt a sharp pain in her heart; she lowered her brows and then gently raised her eyes.
"Xiao Yi," she called out.
The man stiffened at the back of his neck, slowly tilted his head, lifted his thin eyelids, and looked at her.
As their eyes met, the surrounding noise seemed to gradually fade away.
A long, drawn-out silence ensued.
He turned to leave again.
"Xiao Yi?" The soft, indistinct question captivated him completely.
His nose was filled with her familiar, lingering scent. He clenched his teeth, his breathing heavy, and asked coldly, "What is it?"
I miss you so much.
Cheng Yi's eyelashes trembled, and he frowned slightly, not understanding what she was up to by breaking the estrangement with such an ambiguous attitude.
Yu Wu caught a glimpse of the tall, familiar figure walking towards her out of the corner of her eye. She took a step forward, closing the distance between herself and Cheng Yi, and, standing on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around his waist, even feeling his stiff spine. With a pitiful expression, she asked again, "Don't you really miss me?"
Cheng Yi's face remained indifferent, but he was actually trying his best to suppress the deep, boiling desire that was surging within him. He pursed his lips, about to speak, when he heard a flat, emotionless "Yu Zi".
Yu Wu parted her body and winked slyly at Cheng Yi.
Cheng Yi lifted his eyelids, meeting Ke Yanchen's dark, silent pupils, and slowly suppressed the strange emotion he had just felt. Almost instantly, he understood that she was toying with him.
Ke Yanchen's face was gloomy, suppressing his anger. He put one hand in his pocket and gestured to Yu Wu to come over.
The moment Yuwu turned around, her wrist was pulled by the person behind her.
Her breath hitched, her heart tightened, and she met Cheng Yi's dark, teasing gaze.
...
Ke Yanchen's sharp gaze pierced through the mist and landed on the tall and straight Cheng Yi, then gradually moved down to Cheng Yi's slender, snow-white wrist, which he was gripping tightly. It was like a wife conducting a silent "caught in the act" of adultery.
The two men stared at each other in silence, yet sparks flew between them, ready to explode at any moment.
Ke Yanchen strode over and pulled Yu Wu into his arms. Cheng Yi held on tightly, his pale blue veins bulging, and Yu Wu hissed in pain.
Ke Yanchen and Yu Wu stared at Cheng Yi with displeasure. He remained unmoved, his eyes defiant, full of aggression, and exuding a murderous aura.
Yu Wu felt a chill run down her spine and secretly regretted provoking Cheng Yi, that mad dog.
Ke Yanchen gave a silent, cold laugh, released Yu Wu's hand, and without warning, slammed his fist into Cheng Yi, tearing apart the intimate magnetic field between them that prevented anyone from interfering. His tone was vicious: "You fucking dare to touch her again!"
Chaos erupted all around, and the shattering sound of glass breaking pierced the extravagance of the banquet hall like an avalanche.
Cheng Yi pulled Yu Wu behind him and pushed her to safety. He then grabbed Ke Yanchen's wrist, but was a fraction too slow and was punched squarely by Ke Yanchen's other hand. He turned his head, grabbed Ke Yanchen's arm, and slammed him to the ground. The two began to wrestle.
Ye Ren, who was nearby, rushed over and grabbed Cheng Yi's shoulder in a panic. Ao Ziye, who was not far away, picked up a champagne bottle and smashed it at Ye Ren, which caused a burst of screams.
The two groups of people, one from the north and one from the south of the city, made their move almost simultaneously.
The once elegant banquet venue was instantly reduced to chaos and disarray.
...
Yu Wu hadn't expected the consequences to be so severe. She tried to mediate, but the scene was too chaotic, and she was almost accidentally injured by a flying wine glass.
Cheng Yi and Ke Yanchen were both ruthless and vicious, and both of them had injuries on their faces.
Seeing that Ke Yanchen was losing the fight, Cheng Yi punched Ke Yanchen's eyes harder and harder. Yu Wusheng was afraid that something bad would happen, so she rushed over and stood in front of Ke Yanchen, yelling at Cheng Yi, "Stop messing around!"
Blood streamed down Cheng Yi's forehead. He gritted his teeth, panting, his eyelids reddening as his gaze met hers. Amidst the chaos and noise around him, his chest heaved violently. He forcefully suppressed his mad thoughts, slowly tugged at the corners of his mouth, gave a silent, cold laugh, and turned to leave.
Ke Yanchen got up from the ground, gave Yu Wu a deep look, said nothing, turned around and walked away quickly, with Yu Wu jogging to catch up.
"Ke Ke?"
"What’s wrong with you?"
"You're walking too fast, I can't keep up with you!"
Yu Wu was wearing high heels and couldn't run fast at all. She finally managed to get into the car with him, but he was still angry.
The air was thick with a tense, chilling sense of oppression. Ke Yanchen didn't look at her. He looked down and searched for a cigarette in the car, put it in his mouth, but couldn't find a lighter. Frustrated, he threw the cigarette pack onto the back seat.
Yu Wu frowned slightly, and neither of them spoke.
The air was still, broken only by the soft sounds of breathing. It seemed like an eternity had passed when Ke Yanchen turned his head, his face covered in a mess of blood, his eyes bruised. He silently scrutinized her, his fan-shaped eyes slightly raised, his dark, deep pupils holding a scrutinizing gaze as he met hers.
His indifferent and aloof tone made Yu Wu's blood freeze instantly.
"Did you enjoy sleeping with him?"
"…What?"
Is it fun to lie to me?
Yu Wu didn't speak, then gave a self-deprecating smirk, his words sharp and sarcastic: "You've been making a fool of me, aren't you secretly laughing your head off?"
"Keke, your words are hurtful."
"If I got into a fight with a stranger, would you stand in front of the stranger or me? Because deep down you assume you know him better, and your body language shows you're closer to him!"
Yu Wu's breath hitched, but her expression remained innocent. "There's really nothing between him and me. I was just closer to him back then. Don't overthink it—"
A tremendous force gripped the back of her neck, slamming her into the seat. Ke Yanchen swallowed the rest of her words, kissing and sucking her fiercely, his breath and movements filled with aggression.
Yu Wu's scalp tingled, and she winced in pain, her nostrils filled with the citrusy scent of a man. She tried to break free from his grip, but he only tightened his hold, his lips grinding fiercely against hers. He breathed heavily, slowly releasing her, his fingertips brushing against her cheek, his dark pupils flashing with an unusual light, his heavy breathing drawing closer again.
"Let's do it," he whispered hoarsely in her ear.
A chill ran through her body. Yu Wu looked at him with disbelief, as if he were a madman. Before she could turn around to open the car door, he forcefully pulled her into his arms. The fingertips that had been around her waist slowly moved down, aggressively probing under her skirt from her thighs, roughly and urgently continuing to explore upwards along her thighs—
At the critical moment, Yuwu wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Keke, let's get engaged."
The man stopped moving, and the narrow space was filled with suppressed breathing.
His expression was cold, his pupils were moist, his spine seemed to be bent, his arms hung limply, his fingertips trembling, and he just stared at her in silence.
He has already suffered a complete defeat.
Whether she treated him like a fool or slept with Cheng Yi, none of that matters, absolutely none of it matters.
As long as he can be with her in the future.
His voice was incredibly low and hoarse: "Okay."
You can say whatever you want.
He took a deep breath, his lowered eyelashes concealing the turbulent, dark emotions churning in his eyes, a sharp, aching pain shooting through his heart. He pulled her tightly into his arms again, "No matter what happens in the future, Yu Zi, you can only be mine."
"...It can only be mine."
Yu Wu's lips curved in a sarcastic smile, but her voice was gentle and sincere.
"Keke, I love you."
"I only love you."
