"Chuan...chuanliu?"
The customer service representative's face turned pale and then purple the moment she saw the name. The already filled-out contract in her hand began to tremble slightly, whether from anger or fear, it was hard to tell.
He swallowed hard, seemingly wanting to confirm he hadn't misheard, and asked again, unwilling to give up, "You're Chuanliu? '10 of Diamonds' Chuanliu?"
Chuanliu nodded, without saying much, just smiled faintly, then carefully folded his contract and put it into his pocket.
The customer service representative was so shocked not because they saw "Square 10", but because everyone in this "secret door" knew that they had recently received a "kill order" worth 300,000.
Unfortunately, the target of this large order was Chuanliu.
The assassins rushed over wave after wave, but they all disappeared without a trace, as if they had sunk into the sea. As the person in charge of supporting them, he saw it all.
Now, the biggest hot topic in "The Dark Gate" is standing right in front of him, and he's even signed a contract that's completely different from the previous big deal...
Hire their top assassins to kill their assassins.
Assassin kills assassin kills assassin.
This isn't just about two 300,000s; it's about taking down their entire "backdoor" operation!
If their sect leader finds out...
The customer service representative's throat suddenly went dry, and he subconsciously swallowed, trying to ease the sudden tension. His eyes were fixed on the woman in front of him, his heart churning like a lake swept by a storm.
"Maybe... I should just kill this woman?" A wicked thought crept into his mind like a venomous snake. That way, this matter would remain a secret only to him, and no one else would ever know.
The man's pupils contracted slightly, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes. He quickly glanced around, making sure no one else was watching. True to his "Dark Gate" persona, a single glance was enough for him to decide to eliminate the man.
The customer service representative quietly reached under the table and pulled out a sharp dagger. His movements were swift and decisive, but because he wasn't a professional assassin, his attacks were somewhat hesitant and clumsy.
Just as he was about to swing his knife at the woman, he suddenly felt a strong chill creep up from behind.
Clearly, ignoring Zhui Ming's presence was not a wise choice. Zhui Ming was staring coldly at him, his deep eyes filled with murderous intent.
The customer service representative's heart sank, but he did not give up and tried to continue his attack on the woman.
However, Zhui Ming was faster than him. He appeared in front of the customer service representative like a ghost and subdued him within two moves.
The dagger that should have been pointed at the woman was now pressed against the customer service representative's own neck. The cold blade was pressed against his skin, as if it would slit his throat at any moment.
The customer service representative stared wide-eyed in terror, pleading repeatedly, "I was wrong! I was wrong! Please don't kill me!"
Chuanliu slowly removed his mask, approached the customer service representative, and asked in a consultative tone, "I'd like to see your boss. Could you please show me the way?"
The customer service representative wanted to put up a fight, and feeling guilty for doing something wrong, he rejected her without thinking, saying, "Our sect leader isn't someone you can just see! Don't even dream about it!"
Chuanliu simply smiled and shook his head, "Alright then..."
This unexpected answer surprised the customer service representative. He looked at Chuanliu with a puzzled expression, not expecting her to be so easy to talk to.
Unexpectedly, the girl changed her tone, her smile becoming even more profound, "Then please shout louder, otherwise I'm afraid your sect leader won't even know if you die."
Feeling the coldness on his neck, the customer service representative softened his tone. He stammered, "Okay, okay! I...I'll go report to the sect leader, alright?"
Zhuiming then released the customer service representative, watching him scramble and crawl towards the courtyard.
He sighed and joked with Chuanliu, "Do you think I should also set up an organization like this? Hire a few henchmen to report to me every day."
Chuanliu chuckled. His reminder reminded her of what Mo Qingchen had said on the way up the mountain.
Her eyes were full of curiosity as she observed the main hall and asked in a low voice, "Speaking of which, I'd like to hear about your thrilling story of fighting ten people single-handedly, you 'legend'. When will you tell me about it?"
Zhuiming followed behind her, coughing lightly twice: "Rumors, all rumors."
Chuanliu had never seen Zhuiming avoid a topic like this before, and he was even more curious. "It seems to be true... Tell me about it, I'll just listen and forget about it, I'll never tell anyone else."
He smiled helplessly. "I remember someone saying 'curiosity killed the cat' when they first met me."
Chuanliu blinked, feigning ignorance, and said, "Really? I don't remember. You must be mistaken."
The main hall is decorated with an atmosphere of antiquity and solemnity, and the antique wooden furniture exudes a faint woody fragrance.
Chuanliu's hands touched each piece of furniture, carefully examining the main hall. He continued until he reached the other side of the main hall, stopping next to a particularly eye-catching, enormous notice board.
The bulletin board was densely covered with various task sheets, some of which were yellowed and obviously quite old, while others were relatively clean and should have been issued recently. These task sheets varied in size, some only the size of a palm, while others took up almost half of the bulletin board, but they were all handwritten and the handwriting was very neat.
Among the numerous mission notices, Chuanliu's kill order stood out. It was on a brand-new sheet of paper, featuring a sketch of Chuanliu. Below the sketch, in addition to the usual information, was a line of large characters that read: "Reward of 300,000 for the capture of Chuanliu!"
Chuanliu stood in front of the notice board, her gaze quickly sweeping over the numerous task lists. Finally, her eyes settled on her own portrait. She smiled slightly, seemingly quite satisfied with it, and then began to admire it earnestly.
"Looks like my head is worth quite a bit," she said.
As the two were talking, several figures passed by in the main hall. They noticed that the customer service representative was no longer there, but instead a man and a woman strolling around, and couldn't help but take a second look.
The two waited for a while longer, but the customer service representative did not reappear.
Until a series of hurried footsteps came from the side of the main hall.
"What's going on?"
Zhui Ming frowned and instantly went into battle alert.
Chuanliu took his hand down from the notice board and said quietly, "Do you think it's more likely that customer service representative will contact 'Queen of Spades' to relay a message, or that they'll send someone to help them maintain order?"
