Chapter 270 Peace Agreement

As the golden sunlight gently caressed the earth, the City of Hearts quietly regained its former vitality. However, beneath this surface tranquility lay a deep sorrow.

The news of Cao He's death swept across Paradise Island like a gentle breeze, causing no great stir, but the City of Hearts had already suffered an unspeakable wound.

The city's residents were completely unaware of the decisions made by the Red Peach leadership yesterday, but a patrol team suddenly appeared on the streets and alleys of Red Peach City. Dressed in uniform, with sharp eyes, they were constantly alert to any movement around them, ensuring the city's peace and tranquility.

The appearance of this team seemed to have draped a protective cloak over the wounded city, deterring those with ulterior motives or powerful forces.

As Chuanliu and Zhuiming walked along the road, watching the patrol teams that appeared regularly, they couldn't help but admire Huang Chunling's decisive and efficient work style.

"I heard that Huang Chunling held an emergency meeting yesterday with the remaining two senior executives and ultimately decided to use Cao He's legacy to fully hire Sun Qianfan's thug team."

Zhuiming said to Chuanliu, and the next second he saw several familiar faces in the patrol team.

Chuanliu glanced at him and teased, "Oh? Heard it? Or were you eavesdropping?"

Zhuiming crossed his arms over his chest and replied matter-of-factly, "I just have good hearing."

Chuanliu didn't respond, but Zhuiming quickly walked in front of her with a slightly expectant smile on his face. "Are you in such a hurry to go home? Don't you plan to look around a bit more?"

Chuanliu chuckled and replied, "I've already paid you your commission. What more do you want?"

The girl felt a pang of heartache; three hundred thousand... the fee for chasing life was far too expensive.

Recalling that after returning to her residence yesterday, Zhuiming kept nagging her to give him money.

But after she readily paid, Zhui Ming became unhappy, insisting that his service was inadequate and that he wanted to continue following her.

Chuanliu couldn't understand what he was thinking, but he was too lazy to figure it out, so he just let Zhuiming chatter in his ear.

The two walked side by side on the way back to the City of Cubes, with Chuanliu answering Zhuiming's questions in a casual manner.

She looked at this man, whose demeanor was completely different from when he had been with others the previous two days, and suddenly stopped in her tracks, looking directly into his eyes.

Zhuiming seemed somewhat surprised by her actions, raising an eyebrow at her and saying with a hint of mockery, "What? Are you captivated by my dashing appearance?"

Chuanliu was speechless for a moment, and not wanting to continue the conversation, he quickly changed the subject: "How long have you been on Paradise Island?"

Zhuiming turned his head slightly to avoid her direct gaze and replied, "It's been quite a while."

Seeing the man's reaction, Chuanliu chuckled. It seemed that the man would only quiet down when Chuanliu asked about his past experiences on Paradise Island.

Zhuiming was somewhat bewildered by Chuanliu's laughter, and a helpless expression appeared on his face, as if to say, "There are always treacherous subjects trying to harm me."

The smile in Chuanliu's eyes didn't fade, and she said softly, "Relax, I didn't mean to ask you anything."

Zhuiming stroked his chin. "You don't mean you want to use me to find out about other men, do you?"

Chuanliu nodded sincerely.

Zhuiming's eyes widened. "You, you're so blunt. Aren't you afraid of hurting my feelings?"

"Seriously." Chuanliu lightly punched Zhuiming on the shoulder, then said seriously, "I want to ask you, do you know someone called Little Ghost?"

"Kid?"

Zhuiming finally calmed down and began searching his mind for the name.

After a long pause, he nodded. "I've heard of him. He was quite active four years ago, but he's been quiet for the past few years."

"How exactly do you mean by 'active'?" Chuanliu asked.

Zhuiming smiled, a hint of mockery mixed with confusion. "I wonder when this person jumped out and started calling for peace. Think about it, this is Paradise Island. What kind of people live on Paradise Island?"

Chuanliu fell silent. The first thing that popped into her mind was the family that had saved her downstream in the city of Spades.

She suddenly realized that talking about peace on Paradise Island didn't seem so ridiculous after all.

But instead of saying it, she continued, "And then?"

Zhuiming shrugged. "That guy was really stubborn. He later single-handedly created a peace organization and then led the organization to make an agreement with all the 'Aces' of the time."

I was busy with other things at the time, so that's about all I know.

"A gentleman's agreement?" Chuanliu said.

"You know about this?" Zhuiming raised an eyebrow at her and added, "But what you're talking about is their verbal agreement. They later signed a written version, and the content is said to be almost the same. But it's not called 'Gentleman's Agreement'."

He paused, as if thinking, "What was it called again... something about an agreement... oh, a peace agreement. Only the top leaders of all the suits at the time knew about it."

Chuanliu nodded, then asked doubtfully, "How did you know?"

“I was just…” Zhuiming started to say without thinking, but he stopped himself as soon as he got to the beginning, clearly not wanting to continue.

Chuanliu smiled and shook his head, not asking any further questions.

Zhuiming smiled along with the girl, automatically skipping the topic, and said to Chuanliu, "What do you want with that kid? Hasn't he been missing for many years? Looking for relatives? Seeking revenge? Tell me quickly, I can help you."

This man has started his garrulous mode again.

Chuanliu calmly looked at him, then pulled out his trump card, "Why don't you tell me what you were doing four years ago?"

The latter immediately shut up, whistling as he went ahead to scout the way.

Watching Zhuiming's retreating figure, Chuanliu fell into thought.

If, as Zhui Ming said, the little ghost signed a paper agreement with the four "A"s, then if the original agreement could be found, wouldn't it be possible to trace the little ghost through the clues?

However, this means dealing with "A," who has been around for the past four years. Are they friend or foe?

That afternoon, Chuanliu and Zhuiming returned to the City of Cubes.

Several dozen days have passed since I left home last time.

Under the careful management of Wu Fangming's brothers and Xiong Ajiao, everything in "Cube 3"'s villa was in perfect order.

Now, Ah Jiao Xiong acts like a villa manager, taking care of the villa and going out to meet young men in her spare time, living a very comfortable life.

He happily welcomed Chuanliu and his companion into the house, recounting what had happened during Chuanliu's absence. Essentially, during Chuanliu's absence, the high-rise buildings in the block had filled some vacant spaces with permanent residents; the city's appearance had been improved, and residents were reminded of potential safety hazards.

As the sun sets and the last rays of sunlight fade, the people in the villa begin to prepare to end their busy day and welcome the tranquility of the night.

However, at that moment, the villa's door was suddenly knocked on, breaking the silence.

The guards announced that an unexpected visitor had arrived.
