Chapter 55 Lin Xi, are you trying to murder me?
These words struck a chord with Lin Xi. She couldn't remember anything; it was just a dream.
"President Song, I don't know what you're talking about," Lin Xi would never admit, "I just noticed your mouth was dirty from eating noodles, and my OCD kicked in."
Seeing that Song Xu still wouldn't let go of her, Lin Xi pointed to the corner of his mouth with her other finger, "The left side isn't clean yet."
Song Xu released Lin Xi, took out a tissue and wiped his left lip again, but the tissue was clean and there was nothing on it. Only then did he realize that he had been deceived by Lin Xi.
Lin Xi had already taken the bowl and run to the kitchen.
Song Xu was so angry that he went back to his room. He couldn't talk to Lin Xi anymore tonight; it would be a bad way to shorten his lifespan.
When Lin Xi saw Song Xu return to his room, her tense shoulders relaxed. She couldn't understand why Song Xu insisted on bringing up what happened that day.
They are from two different worlds and it's impossible for them to be together. Not only would the Song family disagree, but even her grandmother wouldn't approve if she knew.
She understands this principle, so how could Song Xu not know it, unless he's not serious and just wants to seek thrills?
But she didn't want to waste her feelings and energy playing this kind of game with rich kids.
Grandma used to say that relying on mountains is risky, and relying on people is unreliable; only relying on yourself is the safest option.
Lin Xi sorted out the things she bought from the supermarket and put them in the refrigerator. They were all for tomorrow, and there were also some snacks that could be stored at room temperature. She took them back to her bedroom.
Song Xu didn't want her to help Chen Yan and Xiao Heng sell their products, but she couldn't just take them down from the platform, since they represented her hard work.
She thought for a moment, opened her computer and drafted a purchasing agreement. The purchasing period would start tomorrow, and she would only accept second-hand goods from Song Xu after that. She could no longer be bound by previous purchases.
She doesn't have a printer here, but Song Xu has one in his room. It's not convenient to go there now, so let's talk about it tomorrow.
Perhaps because Song Xu was home, Lin Xi slept soundly tonight, without worrying about anyone else suddenly visiting.
Song Xu couldn't sleep all night, tossing and turning. When he closed his eyes, he kept thinking about Lin Xi, who had been intimate with him in the car, making him feel restless.
But when he thought about Lin Xi, who had repeatedly refused to leave him after he regained consciousness, he felt a burning hatred. What could he possibly do to make Lin Xi give in?
The next morning, Lin Xi got up on time, washed up, and started cleaning.
The apartment is quite large, but it's easy to maintain. Firstly, there are hardly any people living there, and secondly, Lin Xi cleans it every day, so there are no hard-to-reach corners.
After cleaning, Lin Xi went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
With Song Xu there, she prepared a few more dishes.
But even after nine o'clock, Song Xu still hadn't come out. Usually, he would have finished eating and gone to the company by this time.
Lin Xi was a little worried, so she sent Song Xu a message: 【Mr. Song, breakfast is ready.】
After waiting for ten minutes, Song Xu did not reply, and there was no movement from the room.
Lin Xi hesitated for a long time at the door of Song Xu's room before finally knocking. "President Song?"
There was still no sound from inside.
Lin Xi panicked. Could something have happened to Song Xu in the room?
She tried to open the door, but it wasn't locked. Lin Xi went into Song Xu's room and found him on the bed.
Song Xu had dark circles under his eyes and his eyes were tightly closed.
"President Song..." Lin Xi cautiously extended her index finger to check Song Xu's breath. Ten seconds passed, but she couldn't feel Song Xu breathing.
No way! Lin Xi lifted Song Xu's blanket, placed her hand on his left chest, and felt his heartbeat.
It wasn't very obvious, so she pressed on his carotid artery again. Song Xu coughed, opened his eyes, and grabbed her wrist. "Lin Xi, are you trying to murder me?"
“President Song, you’ve misunderstood,” Lin Xi said, pulling her wrist away forcefully, looking embarrassed. “I called you several times but you didn’t respond. I thought you were sick.”
Song Xu snorted coldly, "So you do know how to worry about me."
"I was just worried that no one would pay my salary," Lin Xi said, taking several steps back after seeing that Song Xu was alright. "Since you're okay, I'll go out now. Breakfast is ready, would you like to eat it while it's hot?"
Song Xu glared at her, cursing her inwardly for being heartless. He was so tired that he had just fallen asleep when Lin Xi woke him up.
He was too lazy to pay attention to her, but he didn't expect her to dare to come in and check his breathing, and then lift the blanket to touch his chest. If he wasn't afraid of being strangled by her, he would have liked to pretend for a little longer.
"I'm not eating anymore, I want to sleep, don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary."
Song Xu turned over and continued sleeping with his back to Lin Xi.
Lin Xi quietly left the room and closed the door.
"How annoying!" Lin Xi returned to her room and sat on the sofa, fuming. "Song Xu did it on purpose. No normal person can hold their breath for ten seconds."
She used to think Song Xu was a steady and aloof handsome guy, but now it seems it was all an illusion and she was naive!
Lin Xi quickly calmed herself down. She was there to work and earn money, and the boss's personality didn't matter to her. As long as she was alive and getting paid, that was enough.
Today I have to go to school to deliver food to Bai Tiantian. Lin Xi checked the time and knew she had to get ready.
She worked in the kitchen for over an hour, preparing four dishes: two meat and two vegetable. She divided them into three portions: one for Bai Tiantian, one for herself, and one for Song Xu.
Although the ingredients she bought weren't as good as those at Song Xu's house, they were still very fresh, and the taste wasn't too different.
I wonder when Song Xu will get up. I should prepare lunch first, so he won't throw a tantrum when he gets up and there's nothing to eat.
Lin Xi also left a note for Song Xu, telling him where the food was kept and when she would be back.
After getting ready, Lin Xi took her lunchbox and the snacks she had bought and went out.
She spent a lot of money shopping yesterday, but she felt it was worth it to spend it on Bai Tiantian, and she didn't feel bad about it.
It's a pity that Jiang Ran has never tasted her cooking before. This first time is with Bai Tiantian. I hope Jiang Ran won't be angry when she finds out.
After Jiang Ran started school, she never contacted her again. She guessed her phone was confiscated, and she could only meet her when Jiang Ran was on vacation.
Lin Xi arrived at Jiangda University right on time, just as the morning military training ended. The campus was full of greenery, and rows of students were marching neatly toward the cafeteria.
She followed the group to the cafeteria entrance and then sent a message to Bai Tiantian.
Lin Xi was hugged immediately after sending the message. "Xi Xi, you really came! That's wonderful!"
Bai Tiantian was wearing a green short-sleeved shirt and a blue hat. Sweat dripped down her temples, but she didn't get tanned at all.
"Sweetie, what sunscreen do you use? It works really well," Lin Xi exclaimed.
Bai Tiantian chuckled, "My mom prepared it for me, but I can't understand any of the brands in the foreign language."
She took the bag from Lin Xi's hand and linked arms with Lin Xi, "Come on, let's go to my dorm room and sit for a while."
"Can't you commute to school?" Lin Xi remembered that Bai Tiantian had said that her family had rented a house for her near the school.
"I applied for a room at first, but military training was too tiring and ended very late. I didn't have the energy to go back and forth, so I applied for another room," Bai Tiantian said in a low voice. "It's a double room, so don't tell anyone."
Lin Xi nodded. Undergraduates at Jiang University live in four-person dorm rooms, and only graduate students and above are eligible to live in two-person rooms.
How are your roommates?
Bai Tiantian pouted, "Not good at all. She's like a haughty duck, always telling me how great her uncle is. He's just a deputy director, tsk! No class."
