Chapter 42 I Don't Have a Girlfriend

Chapter 42 I Don't Have a Girlfriend

Lin Xi had some thoughts on this, and she asked the question she had always wanted to know, "I wanted to ask, do you all have girlfriends?"

Both Song Chen and Song Xu looked at Lin Xi meaningfully.

"Why are you asking this?" Song Xu raised an eyebrow. "Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

“I didn’t mean that,” Lin Xi said. After getting to know Song Xu better over this period of time, she had learned a bit about his personality, such as his narcissism.

She quickly explained, "I just wanted to find out what's going on. In case your girlfriend or fiancée suddenly visits, I'm afraid my presence here might cause them to misunderstand."

“No,” Song Chen said first. “If you want to be my girlfriend, I can consider it.”

Lin Xi was speechless; these two brothers were really alike in their narcissism.

“Brother, she’s not a good match for you.” Song Xu was quicker than Lin Xi to refute Song Chen’s suggestion.

Song Chen swallowed the fish in his mouth, turned to look at Song Xu, and said, "I'm not suitable, and you're even less suitable."

Song Xu frowned slightly. "I don't have that idea."

“I have no ulterior motives toward you,” Lin Xi said, having finished eating. She put down her chopsticks. “Please don’t misunderstand. I’m done eating. Please enjoy your meal.”

She took the bowls and chopsticks she had used to the kitchen sink, washed them, and then went back to her room.

"This little girl has quite a personality," Song Chen said, raising his glass to Song Xu.

Song Xu looked away. "He's a bit stubborn, but very smart and serious about his work."

“You admire her.” Song Chen said calmly.

Song Xu lowered his eyes. "She's our junior, so it's only right that we take care of her."

"Our junior?" Song Chen's eyes flashed with surprise. "She's a freshman at Jiang University?"

Song Xu nodded, "And he's from your law school, and he ranked eleventh in history in Jiangbei City this year."

"This little girl is so amazing?" Song Chen's eyes were full of admiration. No wonder his proud brother was so fond of Lin Xi.

"She's alright, her IQ is about the same as ours." Song Xu thought to himself that if Lin Xi's family background were better, she would be even more outstanding.

Lin Xi returned to her room, opened her laptop, and began typing her speech.

She's not a fast typist, and she only had the chance to use a computer when she was at school. She only knew some basic operations, but that's okay, she'll learn quickly.

Lin Xi was so engrossed in writing that she forgot about the two men outside.

"Knock knock knock!" Someone knocked on the door.

Lin Xi glanced at the time and realized she had been writing for two hours. The two brothers must have already finished eating, and they were asking her to clean up the mess.

She opened the door and saw Song Xu leaning against the door frame, his face flushed and his eyes glazed over, as if he were drunk.

Lin Xi's heart tightened as unpleasant memories flooded her mind. She took a step back to close the door.

Unfortunately, it was only half closed before Song Xu blocked it, looking displeased. "What are you trying to do?"

Lin Xi mustered her courage and asked, "President Song, is there anything I can help you with?"

"Are you afraid of me?" Song Xu took a step forward.

Lin Xi took another step back, "No, Mr. Song, are you drunk?"

"You think I'm drunk?" Song Xu took a step forward. "You're afraid I'll get drunk. What did I do to you last time I was drunk?"

"N-nothing," Lin Xi said, her mouth dry. "President Song, have you finished eating? I'll go clear the table."

Lin Xi tried to slip past Song Xu, but Song Xu blocked her with his arm and put his hands on her shoulders, saying, "No rush."

"You..." Song Xu had barely uttered a word when his body swayed, causing Lin Xi to sway along with him.

"President Song!" Lin Xi tried to steady herself, but it was difficult. Song Xu was big and strong, and she couldn't stand up at all.

Lin Xi struggled to help Song Xu onto the sofa, and she ended up falling into Song Xu's arms as a result.

Song Xu hugged her tightly, worried that she might get hurt, and asked, "Are you alright?"

"It's nothing." Lin Xi struggled out of Song Xu's arms and wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Song Xu held his forehead, "My head is so dizzy."

"What should we do then?" Lin Xi thought for a moment, "Should I ask Attorney Song to help you back to your room?"

"Will going back to my room solve my dizziness?" Song Xu said unhappily.

"Then what can I do? I have no experience taking care of drunk people," Lin Xi asked.

Song Xu sighed, "Go get me a bottle of ice water."

"Okay!" Lin Xi said, running out of the room.

After seeing her leave, Song Xu stood up and walked steadily toward the bathroom.

He found Lin Xi's toothbrush inside, put it in a sealed bag, and stuffed it into his pocket.

Just as Song Xu stepped out of the bathroom, Lin Xi ran in with a bottle of water, and he immediately grabbed the wall for support.

Lin Xi was stunned. How did he come out of the bathroom?

"Come help me up," Song Xu beckoned, "I felt like throwing up just now."

Lin Xi hesitated. Wouldn't she throw up on her if she went over now?

"Hurry up and come over here," Song Xu's eyes darkened. "What are you thinking about?"

He was rejected again. Shouldn't a normal woman take advantage of him when he's drunk to do something?

Why does Lin Xi avoid him like the plague?

Lin Xi reluctantly walked over and took Song Xu's arm, but it didn't seem to help.

Song Xu pulled his arm away, wrapped his arms around Lin Xi's neck, and pressed half of his body against hers.

“Mr. Song…” Lin Xi felt like she was suffocating. “My foot is not healed yet, and I can’t stand up straight.”

Song Xu had forgotten about this, and he pulled back some of the weight, saying, "So much to do."

Lin Xi helped Song Xu, and the two of them swayed to the sofa. Lin Xi originally wanted to help Song Xu back to his room, but to her surprise, Song Xu plopped down on the sofa again.

He held out his hand. "Where's the water I asked you to get?"

The water was still in Lin Xi's hand. She handed it to her, saying, "Here it is."

Song Xu took the water bottle, unscrewed the cap, and gulped down half of it in one go.

Lin Xi stood helplessly to the side, "President Song, are you feeling better? Shall I help you back to your room?"

"Not good," Song Xu said, leaning back on the sofa with his eyes closed. "I don't have a girlfriend."

"Huh?" Lin Xi thought she had misheard. "President Song, what did you just say?"

"I said I don't have a girlfriend!" Song Xu opened his eyes and glanced at Lin Xi sideways.

"Oh!" Lin Xi thought to herself that this reaction time was too long. "That's good, then I have nothing to worry about."

At least no women will come knocking on her door anymore.

“What are you worried about?” Song Xu sneered. “Even if I have a girlfriend or a wife, I will still let you stay here in peace.”

Lin Xi's face darkened. These words didn't sound pleasant to her. She didn't want to ruin her employer's relationship and family, which was the worst thing a nanny could do.

"Xiao Xu, what are you doing in Lin Xi's room?" Song Chen suddenly appeared at the door, arms crossed, and asked.
