Chapter 205 What exactly is your relationship with Lu Yunzhou?
“It’s Xixi,” Zhou Jingming said with a sigh. “She was injured by Xiang Lei.”
"And who is Xiang Lei?" Lu Yunzhou asked in a calm tone.
“Xiang Lei is your cousin’s sister-in-law’s cousin,” Zhou Jingming explained, “but your cousin’s sister-in-law has broken ties with her family.”
“You’d better be able to handle this, don’t force me to teach her a lesson,” Lu Yunzhou said coldly. “I won’t go to Xixi’s place for now. I just beat up Song Xu yesterday, and I’m afraid Xixi will be in a difficult position.”
"Okay, I'll call you when I get back." Zhou Jingming hung up the phone.
He picked up Jiang Yan at the courthouse entrance, and the two rushed to the hospital.
There were more people in the ward. Song Chen and Bai Tiantian had returned, and Xu Wantang had also come back. Song Xu sat by the bed and fed Lin Xi soup.
Song Xu kept feeding Lin Xi spoonful after spoonful of soup, but Lin Xi felt embarrassed not to drink it because it was soup personally cooked by Xu Wantang.
After finally finishing a bowl of soup, Song Xu poured another one. "Xi Xi, isn't the soup my mom makes delicious? Have another bowl."
“I’m full,” Lin Xi pushed the soup bowl towards him. “You drink.”
Lin Xi didn't have a big appetite, so Song Xu didn't suspect anything and drank the soup in one gulp.
"Ugh!" Song Xu almost vomited. He looked at Xu Wantang and said, "Mom, what kind of soup did you make? It tastes both fishy and sweet."
“Brain soup,” Xu Wantang blinked, “It’s based on the principle of ‘like cures like.’ I made it especially for you. Is it that hard to drink?”
It was her first time making it, and because she was in such a hurry, she put it into a thermos without even tasting it. She saw Lin Xi drink it and thought it tasted alright.
Upon hearing that it was pig brain, Song Xu gagged again. He looked apologetically at Lin Xi, "Xi Xi, I'm sorry, I'll try it first next time."
Lin Xi smiled and said, "Aunt Xu, it's probably because the blood membrane on the brain wasn't cleaned properly. Apart from being a bit fishy, it tastes pretty good."
Xu Wantang poured herself a bowl, took a bite, and couldn't hold it in, so she ran to the bathroom to vomit.
Song Chen and Bai Tiantian were trying not to laugh.
When Xu Wantang returned, she had a pained expression on her face. "Xixi, how did you manage to drink this? It tastes so awful!"
She rarely cooks, but to show her sincerity, she personally cooked soup for her future daughter-in-law, only to find it tasted awful.
Lin Xi smiled and said, "It's alright, it's not that bad."
Song Xu glanced at the thermos containing the soup, where a few pieces of pig brain were still floating. He quickly put the lid on and said, "Mom, there's still half a thermos left. Don't waste it. Take it back for Dad to drink."
Xu Wantang nodded, "Great idea! I've been busy for two hours, we really can't waste it."
Zhou Jingming and Jiang Yan pushed open the ward door and walked in, carrying a fruit basket.
"Brother Zhou, Senior Jiang Yan, you've arrived." Lin Xi greeted them.
After exchanging a few pleasantries with Song Chen, Jiang Yan walked to the bedside and looked at Lin Xi with concern, "Xi Xi, how are you?"
Lin Xi couldn't sit up and could only lean against the hospital bed. "It's nothing serious, just a little dizzy."
"What exactly happened? Why did Xiang Lei hit you?" Jiang Yan asked, frowning.
"Sister-in-law, I really don't know how you put up with Xiang Lei before," Bai Tiantian couldn't help but complain from the side. "She's so stubborn. She was expelled from school, but she insisted on sticking to Xixi and wouldn't let go of her."
“We didn’t want to argue with her. We had just turned around and taken a few steps when Xixi was hit on the head by a cell phone. We don’t know what her SIM card was made of, but it smashed a big gash in Xixi’s head, and she needed five stitches.”
“Xiang Lei is really too much,” Jiang Yan said apologetically. “It’s all my fault. I’ve cleaned up too many messes for her in the past, which made her arrogant and ignorant.”
“Jiang Yan has nothing to do with you,” Lin Xi comforted you. “I sent you this message to tell you to mind your own business and not get involved in her affairs. She has to take responsibility for her actions.”
Jiang Yan nodded, "Don't worry, I won't interfere in her affairs anymore. I've blocked all the contact information of the Xiang family members, so they can't find me."
“That would be best,” Lin Xi said hesitantly, glancing at Zhou Jingming. “I’ll only be in the hospital for a week at most. Don’t tell Ranran about this, so she won’t worry.”
Zhou Jingming nodded. He knew Lin Xi was referring to his aunt. "Don't worry, she won't know."
Zhou Jingming and Jiang Yan did not stay for too long, as they were afraid of disturbing Lin Xi's rest.
Song Chen and Bai Tiantian were also persuaded to leave by Xu Wantang.
"Mom, you've been busy all day, go back and rest. I can take care of Xixi." Song Xu just wanted to be with Lin Xi; it was too inconvenient for his mother to be here.
Xu Wantang snorted, "It sounds like you care about me, but you probably just think I'm in your way. Fine, I'll give you young people some space."
Song Xu saw Xu Wantang to the door. Xu Wantang was worried and turned back to remind Song Xu, "Xi Xi is injured. You mustn't do anything reckless."
“I know,” Song Xu frowned, “Am I that kind of person?”
“I’ve been there,” Xu Wantang glanced at Song Xu, “I don’t think you’re any better than your father.”
“I definitely love my wife more than my dad does,” Song Xu pushed Xu Wantang. “You should leave now.”
Song Xu closed the door, returned to the ward, and went straight to the bed, lying down next to Lin Xi. "Finally, I can have some peace and quiet for a while."
Lin Xi rested her head on Song Xu's arm and touched his face. "Does it still hurt?"
"Much better," Song Xu said, "the minor injury is nothing to me. It's just that my ribs hurt a bit, and it hurts to breathe."
"What should we do then?" Lin Xi asked anxiously. "Should we get a painkiller injection?"
Song Xu shook his head, "Give me a kiss, and the pain will go away."
"No kissing," Lin Xi rolled her eyes at him, "You can suffer in pain."
“Xi Xi, you are so cold and heartless to me,” Song Xu said, her voice full of grievance. “I suffered these injuries because of you.”
"You're morally blackmailing me," Lin Xi glared at him. "Did I tell you to go and fight with Brother Yunzhou? You can't beat him, yet you still insist on fighting. Are you stupid?!"
“Everyone wants to prove themselves,” Song Xu sneered. “Who told you to go out to eat with him? Don’t you know?”
"I was the one who went to find Brother Yunzhou, so why didn't you come and hit me?" Lin Xi asked confidently.
“Even if I’m angry, I would never hit you,” Song Xu pinched Lin Xi’s cheek. “You still haven’t told me what your relationship with Lu Yunzhou is.”
Lin Xi was silent for a moment, then said, "I can tell you, but you must keep it a secret for me. You can't tell anyone for now, including my brother, Tian Tian, your parents, and especially your grandfather."
"What exactly is your relationship? You're making it all so mysterious," Song Xu raised an eyebrow at Lin Xi in his arms. "Don't tell me Lu Yunzhou is your biological brother!"
