Chapter 37 You want to cling to me for life?
Lin Xi's heart skipped a beat, blood rushed to her head, and she felt her entire face burning and swelling.
She didn't dare to look up and replied in a muffled voice, "I can finish it."
Shen Yan had just taken a bite of noodles when he saw Song Xu's actions. He froze, forgetting to chew, and one cheek bulged out.
Xiao Heng picked up a stick of noodles. It smelled delicious at first, but now he had no appetite for it.
Bai Tiantian blinked and pushed her noodles in front of Chen Yan and Xiao Heng, "Why don't you two help me eat some too? I haven't touched it yet."
Shen Yan picked up her chopsticks. "I've already used them."
Although Xiao Heng hadn't put the noodles in his mouth yet, he had picked them up with his chopsticks.
“I haven’t used it yet,” Bai Tiantian stood up and used her chopsticks to put some meat on Chen Yan’s and Xiao Heng’s plates. “I’ll also give you two slices of meat.”
Bai Tiantian brought the remaining noodles back to herself, saying, "This is pretty good. You can eat your fill, and Xixi and I won't feel guilty about wasting food."
Her actions calmed Lin Xi down considerably, and Lin Xi looked up and smiled at Bai Tiantian.
Bai Tiantian took a bite of noodles and gave Lin Xi a thumbs up, "Xi Xi, the noodles you treated me to are really delicious."
Lin Xi was increasingly fond of Bai Tiantian, feeling a surge of emotional connection. "I'm glad you like it. Tiantian, I forgot to ask you, what's your major in law school?"
“International trade rules,” Bai Tiantian replied, “If I had met you sooner, I would have chosen the same major as you, so we could be together every day.”
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng belatedly realized what was happening and looked at Lin Xi and Bai Tiantian in shock, "You two wouldn't happen to be from Jiang University's law school, would you?"
Lin Xi and Bai Tiantian nodded at the same time.
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng exchanged a glance. "What a coincidence, we two are from the same college as Brother Xu, the School of Economics and Management."
Lin Xi knew that the two of them were from Jiang University, but she didn't know that Song Xu was also from Jiang University. She turned her head to look at Song Xu and asked, "Mr. Song, are you also a college student?"
These words seemed to touch a nerve with Song Xu, and his eyes sharpened. "What, I don't look like it? You think I'm old?"
“No,” Lin Xi sensed Song Xu’s displeasure and realized that her question was problematic. “I just didn’t expect you to be able to hold a senior leadership position in a company while you were in university. How do you balance your career and studies?”
Song Xu's expression softened a bit. "No need to balance it out. Just do what you're supposed to do. You'll be facing this problem soon too."
Lin Xi fell silent. Yes, she was now a working person and would be juggling her career and studies.
"Wow, we're both from Jiangda University, what a coincidence!" Bai Tiantian exclaimed excitedly. "We've known each other for so long, and I still don't know your names. My name is Bai Tiantian, and I'm from Baiyun City. Let's add each other as friends!"
Bai Tiantian took out her phone, showed her QR code, and presented it to Xiao Heng first.
How could Xiao Heng refuse a beautiful woman's offer to add him as a friend? He scanned the QR code, added his name in the friend request, and wrote, "My name is Xiao Heng."
"Hello Xiao Heng, I really like your earrings," Bai Tiantian said with a smile.
The next person was Shen Yan, who also announced his name: "Shen Yan".
"Hello Shen Yan, I really like your hair color, but unfortunately my mom won't let me dye my hair." Bai Tiantian looked at Shen Yan's blond hair with envy.
Bai Tiantian finally handed the phone to Song Xu, who didn't even look up. "If you need anything, just contact Lin Xi."
“I understand,” Bai Tiantian said, not angry at all about being rejected. “Not adding girls as friends casually is one of the basic principles of a good man.”
Shen Yan and Xiao Heng simultaneously glanced at Bai Tiantian. Had they been set up?
Lin Xi sighed, feeling embarrassed by Tian Tian's overly cheerful personality and thoughtless remarks.
After they finished eating their noodles, Lin Xi went to pay the bill. "How much is it in total, boss?"
"Fifteen yuan a bowl, five bowls would be seventy-five yuan in total, you can just give me seventy," the noodle shop owner had a particularly good impression of Lin Xi and even asked with concern, "Young lady, are you still looking for a part-time job?"
“I found a stable job, so I didn’t come here part-time,” Lin Xi replied politely. She scanned the code and paid 100 yuan. “Boss, I paid you 100 yuan. You gave me several side dishes as a gift. I can’t let you lose out.”
"That's too much," the noodle shop owner said somewhat embarrassedly. "Next time you come, I'll give you more meat."
"Okay!" Lin Xi nodded and returned to her seat.
Song Xu wiped his mouth with his handkerchief. "Let's go!"
The five people walked out of the noodle shop and looked at each other, realizing it was time for them to go their separate ways.
"Xixi, do you live in the dormitory?" Bai Tiantian asked.
Lin Xi shook her head. "I applied to be a day student."
“Great, me too,” Bai Tiantian grabbed Lin Xi’s hand. “Do you want to live with me? My family rented a place for me nearby.”
"She wants to come home with me." Before Lin Xi could speak, Song Xu spoke first.
Bai Tiantian looked at the two of them in surprise, "You two... are living together?"
Living together should be considered cohabitation, and Song Xu did not refute this.
“It’s not what you think,” Lin Xi covered Bai Tiantian’s mouth and explained softly, “I work as a nanny in his house.”
Nanny? Bai Tiantian automatically filled in the blanks in her mind. She pulled Lin Xi's hand away and winked at Lin Xi: "Innocent little nanny VS cunning and domineering CEO?"
"Sweetie, if you keep talking nonsense, I'm going to get angry." Lin Xi felt her blood rushing to her head.
Bai Tiantian shut her mouth tightly and made a zipper-like motion; she dared not say anything more.
Song Xu glanced at Bai Tiantian indifferently, but didn't say anything more.
"Brother Xu, Yanzi and I haven't had a chance to report for duty yet, so we won't be going back with you guys," Xiao Heng said.
"Did I invite you?" Song Xu rolled his eyes at them. "Go home after you register and rest for a couple of days, otherwise you'll suffer during military training."
"Okay," Shen Yan and Xiao Heng said sullenly.
"Sweetie, where are you going?" Lin Xi asked.
Bai Tiantian kept her lips tightly closed, pointed in a direction, towards the residential area closest to Jiang University, and made a sound through her nose: "Mmm mmm mmm..."
Lin Xi was so angry she laughed. She gently poked Bai Tiantian's forehead with her finger. "You can say serious things."
"I want to go home," Bai Tiantian said with a flattering smile to Lin Xi. "It's only a five-minute walk. Xi Xi, you and your domineering CEO go ahead, don't worry about me."
Lin Xi glared at Bai Tiantian, who realized she had misspoke and waved to Lin Xi and the others, "I'm going now, bye-bye!"
Song Xu took Lin Xi's hand. "Let's go!"
"Mr. Song, I can walk by myself." Holding hands was inappropriate for them, and Lin Xi wanted Song Xu to let go of her hand.
Song Xu turned to look at her, "You don't want your foot injury to heal, and you want to rely on me for the rest of your life?"
