Chapter 90: Qi and Li Hanzhou's First Clash

Chapter 90: Qi and Li Hanzhou's First Clash

The next morning, before the whistle even sounded, Qi woke up.

He got up from the bed and walked to the window.

As dawn broke, the prison was shrouded in morning mist.

On the opposite bunk, Fang Che was curled up, fast asleep...

If you ignore his occasional furrowed brows and the occasional gasp he lets out.

The injury on his waist was clearly still painful.

Qi's gaze swept over Fang Che's slightly swollen lips before moving away.

He changed his clothes and prepared to go out.

Before going out for fresh air today, he had to find the "poisonous snake" first.

Just as I reached the door, I heard a rustling sound behind me.

"Seventh Brother?" Fang Che sat up, rubbing his eyes. "So early? Where are you going?"

Qi paused slightly: "Toilet."

"Oh..." Fang Che yawned, lay back down, and muttered, "Then hurry back, I'll save you a seat for breakfast..."

The voice lowered; she had fallen asleep.

Qi glanced at him, opened the door, and walked out.

Cell 206, Block B.

Li Hanzhou didn't sleep all night.

He stood by the door, looking down into the hallway through the small window.

The wrist injury was treated simply, but the anxiety in my heart burned even more fiercely.

A-Che needs medicine for his injury.

The prison has poor medical conditions. It can handle ordinary injuries, but gunshot wounds, coupled with the risk of infection, will cause serious problems if left untreated.

He needs to get his hands on anti-inflammatory drugs.

"Brother Li?" Alai's voice came from behind, "You...you're not asleep?"

Li Hanzhou didn't turn around: "What's wrong?"

“I found out,” Alai said in a low voice. “Viper was in the warehouse behind the laundry room this morning. He had some new stock, including the anti-inflammatory medicine you wanted.”

Li Hanzhou turned around: "How much?"

“It depends on what he wants.” Alai hesitated for a moment. “Viper is a strange guy. Sometimes he wants money, sometimes he wants favors, and sometimes… he wants something else.”

"Others?"

Alai blushed slightly and said in an even softer voice, "He likes... good-looking boys."

Li Hanzhou's eyes turned cold instantly.

Alai quickly said, "But don't worry, Brother Li! You're not that kind of person... and even Viper wouldn't dare mess with you! I just meant he might make some strange requests..."

"Understood." Li Hanzhou interrupted him. "Lead the way during the morning exercise period."

"Great!" Alai's eyes lit up.

At least, Brother Li still needs him.

That's enough.

Nine o'clock in the morning, time for fresh air.

Fang Che carried a cup of hot water and strolled slowly along the edge of the playground.

He was sweating profusely from the pain in his back, but he didn't want to go back to his cell to lie down.

Lying down hurts more and is more boring.

He swept across the playground, looking for Li Hanzhou.

I saw it.

Li Hanzhou headed towards the laundry room, with Alai by his side.

Fang Che frowned.

The way Alai looked at Li Hanzhou was all too familiar to him…

Just like when he first saw Brother Li, even more explicit.

Something's wrong with this kid.

He hesitated for a moment, then followed.

An abandoned warehouse behind the laundry room.

When Li Hanzhou pushed the door open, there were people inside.

A tall, thin man sat on a broken chair, legs crossed, playing with a silver lighter.

It was the man from 307 who looked at Fang Che like a venomous snake.

"A rare guest." Viper raised his eyes, grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, "What brings Boss Li of Heyi Hall to my little shop?"

Li Hanzhou didn't waste any words: "I need anti-inflammatory medicine, for external use, and painkillers as well."

“Yes,” the venomous snake said slowly, “but the price…”

Name your price.

The viper sized him up: "I don't want the money. Boss Li, can you do me a favor?"

"explain."

“Scarface from the East District stole a batch of my goods last month,” Viper sneered. “You break one of his legs for me, and I’ll give you the medicine for free, plus a box of antibiotics.”

Li Hanzhou was silent for a few seconds: "Okay. But give me the medicine first."

“That won’t do.” Viper shook his head. “The rules can’t be broken. You do your job first, then I’ll give you the medicine.”

“I can’t wait.” Li Hanzhou stepped forward. “Give me the medicine first, and I’ll definitely get it done.”

Viper was intimidated by his imposing manner, his expression changed for a moment, then returned to normal: "Boss Li, this is a prison, not your territory. Here, things are done my way."

The two froze.

The door opened again.

Seven walked in.

Upon seeing Li Hanzhou, he paused slightly, his face expressionless, and walked straight to the snake: "I need medicine to treat my skin allergy."

The viper was stunned. He looked at Qi, then at Li Hanzhou, and suddenly laughed: "What day is it today that both of you are here?"

He rubbed his hands together, his eyes darting between the two of them: "Unfortunately, there's only one dose of the anti-inflammatory and allergy medication left."

Li Hanzhou's eyes sharpened instantly.

Qi looked at the poisonous snake: "What do you mean?"

"Literal meaning." Viper shrugged. "The checks have been strict lately, and we can't get any more stock. Only one set left. You two... who wants it?"

The air was tense.

Li Hanzhou stared at Qi: "What do you need allergy medication for?"

Qi remained expressionless: "None of your business."

"Give me the medicine." Li Hanzhou's voice turned serious. "I need it urgently."

"I'm anxious too."

"What's the rush?" Li Hanzhou stepped forward. "An allergic reaction won't kill you. I need help with the gunshot wound."

The pupils constrict slightly.

Gunshot wound?

There have been new inmates with gunshot wounds in the prison recently...

He remembered the bandage on Fang Che's waist and his forced smile.

Could it be...?

"What's your relationship with the person who was shot?" Seventh question.

Li Hanzhou narrowed his eyes: "This is none of your business. Give me the medicine, and name your terms."

Seven silences.

If it really is Xiao Che...

But Xiao Che said it was a fall that caused the injury.

But if it's really a gunshot wound, not using medication could lead to infection and other problems.

The venomous snake watched the two confront each other with excitement in its eyes.

He loves watching these kinds of shows...

When two powerful people fight over something, they both end up having to beg him for help.

"Gentlemen, have you reached an agreement?" He tapped the table. "How about the highest bidder wins? Or... a fight? Whoever wins keeps it."

Li Hanzhou and Qi both looked at him.

Even their eyes were cold.

The snake shrank its neck and chuckled dryly, "Just...just kidding..."

"Give me the medicine." Li Hanzhou pulled a Rolex gold watch from his pocket and slammed it on the table. "Is this enough?"

The snake's eyes lit up, and it reached out to grab it.

He pressed down on the watch with his other hand.

It is seven.

He took a small cloth bag out of his pocket and poured out a few diamonds.

The cut is rough, but the size is large, and it shines even in the dark.

"I'll offer this."

The snake's eyes widened as it looked at the gold watch and then at the diamonds, its mouth practically watering.

"This, this..." He rubbed his hands together, "Both of you are so sincere, I..."

"First come, first served," Li Hanzhou said coldly.

“But mine is more valuable.” Qi refused.

The two stared at each other, sparks flying in the air.

Outside the door, Fang Che peered through the crack, stunned.

What's going on?

Brother Li and Qi...are they bidding?

For the medicine?

He touched the bandage on his waist, feeling a warmth in his heart.

Brother Li must be trying to get him some medicine.

But why would I need allergy medication?

Just then, I heard footsteps behind me.

Fang Che was startled and hid behind a pile of miscellaneous items nearby.

It was Alai who arrived.

He crept furtively to the warehouse and peeked through the crack in the door.

Seeing Li Hanzhou and Qi facing off, a sinister glint flashed in his eyes.

Then, he took a small paper packet out of his pocket, squatted down, and slipped it under the door.

The paper package was very thin and slid to the snake's feet.

The snake was torn between choosing a gold watch or a diamond watch when it felt something at its feet. It looked down and froze.

He picked up the paper package, opened it, glanced at it, and his expression changed.

Inside was a strip of paper and a pinch of white powder.

The note was written in Thai, which the viper understood.

He looked up, glanced at Li Hanzhou, then at Qi, and suddenly smiled.

“Gentlemen, stop arguing.” He stood up and pushed the gold watch and diamonds back. “I can give one of you the medicine for free.”

Li Hanzhou and Qi Du frowned.

"What are the conditions?" Li Hanzhou asked.

The viper grinned and pointed at Qi: "The condition is... brother, you have to tell me, who is the medicine for?"

Qi's eyes were cold: "This is none of your business."

“Of course it’s relevant,” the venomous snake said slowly. “I sell medicine, so I need to know who gets it. In case something goes wrong, I need to be aware of the situation.”

He paused, then lowered his voice: "Especially this medicine... it might treat more than just allergies."

Qi stared at him without saying a word.

Li Hanzhou also sensed something was wrong: "What do you mean?"

The venomous snake smiled but didn't answer, only looking at Qi: "So? Tell me, and the medicine is yours. Don't tell me, and I'll sell it to Boss Li."

Qi's hand tightened slightly.

He was weighing his options.

Mentioning Xiao Che's name might expose the relationship between Xiao Che and Li Hanzhou.

Although he wasn't entirely sure, there was clearly something special between the two of them.

But if they don't say anything, and Li Hanzhou takes the medicine, Xiao Che's injury...
