Chapter 91 Loyalty or Sincerity

Chapter 91 Loyalty or Sincerity

"Give it to someone named Xiao Che," Qi said in a flat voice, "Cell 307, the new Chinese."

Li Hanzhou's pupils suddenly contracted!

He glared at Qi, his eyes filled with shock and anger: "You—"

"Oh?" Viper's smile deepened. "Little Che... I've seen that kid before, he's certainly good-looking. So, those 'mosquito bites,' were they your doing?"

Qi didn't understand: "What mosquito bite?"

“It’s…” Viper pointed to his neck, making an ambiguous gesture, “Here, those red ones. Xiao Che said they were mosquito bites, but I don’t think so.”

Qi was stunned.

He remembered the red marks on Xiao Che's neck in the bathroom last night.

It turns out... the venomous snake saw it too.

"It wasn't me," Qi said coldly. "Give me the medicine."

"Not you?" Viper raised an eyebrow, looking at Li Hanzhou. "Then could it be..."

Li Hanzhou's face turned ashen.

He understands everything now!

Qi thought Xiao Che's injury was an allergy or a mosquito bite, so she came to buy medicine.

The venomous snake mistakenly believed that the marks on Xiao Che's body were made by Qi Nong.

But those traces...

He left it there last night.

A surge of jealousy rose within me.

"Give me the medicine." Li Hanzhou stepped forward and took the medicine box from the table.

Qi stopped him.

“He needs allergy medication,” Qi said, staring at Li Hanzhou. “I’ll figure out another way to deal with the gunshot wound.”

"What right do you have to tell him what to do?" Li Hanzhou's voice was as cold as ice. "Is he one of yours?"

“He’s with me now,” Qi Burang said. “I’ll protect him.”

"Following you?" Li Hanzhou laughed, his laughter full of sarcasm. "Do you know who he is? Do you know why he came in?"

Seven silences.

He really didn't know.

But he doesn't need to know.

"All I need to know is that he's right under my nose now," Qi Yi said, emphasizing each word. "His safety is my responsibility."

"You'll take responsibility?" Li Hanzhou took a step closer, their noses almost touching. "What makes you think you can take responsibility? Jiang Kun's dog, you dare to talk about taking responsibility?"

These words were like knives, piercing into Qi's heart.

His eyes turned cold instantly, and his hands clenched into fists.

The venomous snake watched with great interest, almost ready to grab a handful of sunflower seeds.

"Hit! Hit!" he muttered under his breath, rubbing his hands together excitedly.

Outside the door, Fang Che was sweating profusely.

We can't wait any longer.

Just as he was about to rush in, he suddenly heard footsteps and voices coming from the corridor...

The prison guards arrived.

Oh no.

Fang Che knocked on the door and whispered, "Hurry up! It's a prison guard!"

The three people in the warehouse were startled.

Viper was the quickest, grabbing the medicine box and shoving it into Seven's hand, while sweeping his gold watch and diamonds into his pocket: "That's enough!"

He lifted the wooden plank in the corner and crawled into the secret passage.

Li Hanzhou and Qi exchanged a glance and quickly separated.

Qi took the medicine box and climbed out the back window to leave.

Li Hanzhou opened the door, and Fang Che was standing outside.

"Brother Li, let's go!" Fang Che pulled him.

It's too late.

Three prison guards appeared at the end of the corridor.

"Halt!" the leader shouted. "What are you doing!"

Li Hanzhou pulled Fang Che behind him.

The flashlight beam shone on their faces.

"What are you doing here during exercise time?" The prison guard stared at Li Hanzhou. "It's you again."

"Just passing by." Li Hanzhou said without changing his expression.

"Just passing by?" the prison guard sneered, turning his gaze to Fang Che. "Who is this person?"

“I don’t know him, it’s just a coincidence,” Li Hanzhou quickly replied.

"Don't you know him?" The prison guard reached out to pull Fang Che.

Li Hanzhou grasped his wrist.

"I told you, I don't know him."

The other two prison guards raised their batons: "Let go!"

The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Fang Che's heart was pounding like a drum.

At that moment, another voice rang out:

"So lively?"

Lu Che walked from the other end of the corridor, holding a magazine in his hand, as if he had just come from the library.

The prison guard softened his tone slightly: "Mr. Lu, these two are behaving suspiciously."

Lu Che glanced at Li Hanzhou and Fang Che: "I found them."

"You're the one I found?"

"Okay. I'll have Li Hanzhou fix my glasses, and this kid can show me the way." Lu Che said casually, "Any problems?"

The prison guards looked at each other in bewilderment.

Although Lu Che is a prisoner, he has a powerful background, and the warden has instructed him to take "special care" of him.

They dared not disbelieve his words, but they also dared not believe them entirely.

"So... is it fixed?" the head prison guard asked.

"Is it fixed?"

"Tools are hard to find," Lu Che sighed. "Do you need any help?"

That's a dismissal.

The prison guard hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "Then please hurry, the exercise period is almost over."

They left.

The corridor fell silent.

Lu Che's smile faded, and he lowered his voice: "Are you guys crazy? Making a deal in prison, and almost getting caught?"

Li Hanzhou didn't answer, but looked at Fang Che: "Does the injury still hurt?"

Fang Che shook his head: "It's nothing. The medicine..."

"Seven took it." Li Hanzhou's face darkened.

Lu Che frowned: "Jiang Kun's seven? You two had a conflict?"

Li Hanzhou briefly recounted what had happened.

Lu Che's expression turned serious: "Qi has his eye on A-Che?"

“Not only that.” Li Hanzhou looked at Fang Che. “Stay away from him. Jiang Kun’s men are not simple.”

Fang Che swallowed the words he wanted to say and simply nodded.

Lu Che looked at the two of them: "I'll figure out a way to get the medicine. I know someone in the medical room who can get anti-inflammatory drugs. But Li Hanzhou, you have to promise me one thing."

"explain."

"Don't take any risks," Lu Che said seriously. "Jiang Kun's target is you. Any action could give him an excuse to get rid of you in prison."

Li Hanzhou remained silent for a moment, then nodded.

Lu Che then looked at Fang Che: "Ah Che, that's enough with Qi. Jiang Kun's assassins are not for you to play with. Once he finds out you're using him, you'll die."

Fang Che's heart tightened, and he nodded: "Understood."

"Good, I understand." Lu Che glanced at his watch. "Time to go back. I'll bring the medicine tonight."

The three separated.

When Fang Che returned to 307, Qi was already sitting on the bed.

He held the medicine box in his hand, looking down at it.

Fang Che entered the room and looked up.

"Seventh Brother," Fang Che smiled, "Where did you go just now? I didn't see you at breakfast."

Seven did not answer.

He waited for Fang Che to approach, then suddenly reached out and brushed the hair off Fang Che's neck.

Fang Che was taken aback.

Seven fingers were very cold; when they touched his skin, he instinctively wanted to pull away.

"Don't move."

He looked closely at Fang Che's forehead, then at his neck.

Those red marks... definitely don't look like mosquito bites.

The shape and position are both too ambiguous.

"Big brother?" Fang Che felt a chill run down his spine.

Qi withdrew his hand and handed over the medicine box: "Here you go."

Fang Che took it. Inside was a tube of ointment and a few pills.

The ointment label is in Thai, which I can't understand.

The pills are anti-allergy medication.

"This is……"

"It's for treating allergies." Qi looked at him. "Apply this to the mosquito bites on your neck."

Fang Che's face flushed slightly.

He touched his neck...

The marks left by Li Hanzhou last night, I applied cold water this morning and thought they had disappeared, but are they still obvious?

"Thank you, Seventh Brother..." he chuckled dryly, "Actually, it's not necessary..."

"wipe."

Fang Che had no choice but to accept: "How much? I..."

"No need," Qi interrupted, then paused. "Tell me what you need in the future."

Fang Che felt a slight warmth in his heart, and then the alarm sounded softly.

Is Qi too good to him?

Why would a suicide bomber treat a fellow inmate he had just met like this?

He dared not think too deeply about it.

"Seventh Brother," he changed the subject, "you went looking for poisonous snakes today just to buy medicine?"

He nodded seven times.

"Did you run into anyone?"

Qi glanced at him: "Li Hanzhou."

Fang Che's heart tightened: "He bought medicine too?"

“Hmm.” Qi stared at him. “He needs anti-inflammatory medicine to treat his gunshot wound.”

Fang Che's breathing became slightly sluggish.

"Do you know Li Hanzhou?" Qi suddenly asked.

Fang Che immediately shook his head: "I don't know him! I've only heard of him, he's the boss of Heyi Hall."

"Is that so?" Qi's tone was flat, but her eyes were sharp. "But he seems to care about you a lot."

"He cares about me?" Fang Che chuckled dryly. "He doesn't even know me..."

“He knows your name,” Qi said slowly. “When I told him the medicine was for Xiao Che from 307, he reacted strongly.”

Fang Che's palms were sweating.

It's over.

Brother Li, that jealous guy, must be angry.

"Maybe... I look like someone he knows?" Fang Che forced a lie. "My face is pretty common..."

Qi didn't speak, she just looked at him.

His gaze was so deep, it was as if he could see into his soul.

Fang Che felt uncomfortable being stared at and was about to speak again when Qi stood up.

"Apply the medicine." He said those two words and turned to leave.

Fang Che breathed a sigh of relief and sat down.

The medicine box was heavy.

He opened it and smelled the ointment...

It has a cool mint flavor and is a common anti-allergy ointment.

But I still felt uneasy.

At night, before lights out.

Just as Fang Che lay down, there was a light knock on the cell door.

A small paper packet was slipped under the door.

He picked it up and opened it; inside were a few anti-inflammatory pills and a small roll of gauze.

There was a note inside the paper package, written in Li Hanzhou's handwriting:

"Take your medicine on time and change it frequently. Stay away from Qi and wait for me."

Fang Che's nose felt sore.

He put the medicine away and went back to bed.

Across from him, Qi had her back to him and seemed to be asleep.

But Fang Che knew that Qi hadn't slept.

How could an assassin go to sleep so early?

He closed his eyes, his mind a jumble.

The prison was like a whirlpool, drawing him in.

The prison was silent in the dead of night.

Qi opened his eyes silently.

He pulled out a dagger from under his pillow; the blade gleamed cold in the moonlight.

The snake gave us more than just medicine today.

And that note.

Jiang Kun's instructions:

"Seven, within three days, deal with Li Hanzhou. The method is not limited, but it must look like an accident. After that, get rid of Xiao Che! He's too much of a nuisance."

Qi stared at the note, his fingers tightening.

The paper was crumpled into a ball.

He looked at Fang Che, who was fast asleep on the bed opposite him.

The boy was curled up, his brows slightly furrowed, as if he were having an unsettling dream.

Qi stared at it for a long time.

Finally, he tucked the note back under his pillow and lay down again.

Staring at the ceiling, I was wide awake.

Three days.

Only three days.

And that boy named Xiao Che...

Seven. Close your eyes.

For the first time, he hesitated about the mission.
