Alcohol
When Ye Jia liked Han Lanchuan, she never imagined what he would look like without his clothes on; she didn't even have that thought.
Of course, it was because she didn't quite understand, but now that she does, she doesn't want to imagine it anymore; the mere thought of it makes her feel disgusted.
Even without what happened at the dinner table, Ye Jia was still unwilling, since just by looking at how he was dressed, he knew there wouldn't be much to see if he took his clothes off.
Even though Gu Anzhou only showed two sections of his arms, they were still worth appreciating.
He gripped the shaker tightly with all five fingers, locked it in place, and began to shake it, his muscles bulging as he moved quickly and steadily.
The rose-red liquid flowed into the glass with his movements, and he added a cherry as a garnish, making it look very delicate.
Ye Jia looked at the wine placed in front of her, took a sip, and wondered if it was because of the performance she had just watched, but the wine tasted particularly good today.
Towards the end of the drink, she grabbed a cherry stem, bit into a cherry, and ate it. The sweet and sour flavors, mixed with the taste of the wine, created a more complex and layered experience.
"I'll have another one of these," Ye Jia said.
Chu Nian asked her from the side, "Are you sure you'll be okay with work later?"
"Is everything alright?" Ye Jia had never been drunk before, and her mind had always been clear. She was the one who took care of Chu when he returned.
A new glass of wine was handed to me, this time with two cherries in it.

This was the first time Ye Jia had stayed at the Fog Sea Lighthouse so late. It turned out that there were still so many guests at 11 p.m., but they were all gradually preparing to leave.
Gu Anzhou tidied up the table next to the socket, and Ye Jia sat down to prepare for work.
"It won't delay your closing time. You can do whatever you need to do, or even go upstairs to sleep. Just give me your spare key and I can lock the door for you."
Gu Anzhou looked at her and said, "I'll wait until you finish work and then take you home."
"You haven't been drinking?"
"I didn't drink it."
Are you worried about me? Afraid I'll steal your things?
Gu Anzhou's heart was racing after hearing the first part of the sentence, and he was about to nod and say "yes," but he burst out laughing after hearing the second part: "You would steal my things?"
"You really believe I won't do anything bad? How careless of you."
Gu Anzhou became serious: "What you said makes sense."
Ye Jia smiled and looked at the computer.
Chu Nian stayed a little longer tonight. She originally wanted to take a taxi home, but when she saw Bai Yu arrive, she asked Bai Yu to take her.
A young boy came with Bai Yu, and Chu Nian took a liking to him at first sight. Then, she saw the young boy walk over and sit down opposite Ye Jia at the table.
"Teacher!" Xia Anyi exclaimed with a joyful smile, "As expected, the island is small; you can run into someone anywhere."
Chu Nian and Bai Yu walked to the table. Chu Nian looked at the two of them and asked, "You two know each other?"
Bai Yu then said, "I guessed that the teacher you were talking about was Sister Jiajia."
Bai Yu and Xia Anyi were about the same age, one about to be a freshman in college and the other a sophomore who had dropped out. They met on the island and chatted for a bit. Bai Yu then took Xia Anyi on a ride on his delivery tricycle around the whole island and brought him to a bar.
Chu Nian put her arm around Bai Yu's shoulder and looked at Ye Jia, saying, "How come you have such good luck with handsome guys? All the students you teach are so good-looking."
Ye Jia pinched the bridge of her nose and looked at Bai Yu: "Xiao Bai, hurry up and take Sister Nian home, she's had too much to drink."
Chu Nian stuck her tongue out at her, waved goodbye to the handsome young man, and was pulled away by Bai Yu.
"Is he handsome?" Bai Yu pressed the helmet down on Chu Nian's head, a bit more roughly than before.
Chu Nian was stunned for a moment after being bumped. She tightened the strap on her chin and asked, "Isn't it handsome?"
"well enough."
"Hey, can't you be a little more mature? You don't believe me? Ask your brother Zhou, he'll definitely admit that the guy is handsome."
Bai Yu felt a complicated mix of emotions after hearing her words. On one hand, she thought what she said made sense, but on the other hand, she was really annoyed that she praised Xia Anyi for being handsome.
Chu Nian got on her bike, wrapped her arms around Bai Yu's waist, and pressed her face against his back. She could feel that he was a little sulky. She continued to patiently explain, "Admitting that he's handsome doesn't mean you're not handsome. On the contrary, you'll be more charming because you can appreciate men."
"So, who's more handsome, him or me?"
Chu Nian was helpless, but bumped her head against his back twice: "You're more handsome, you're more handsome."
Realizing that she was only saying this because she had no other choice, Bai Yu pouted and said, "I can tell you think he's more handsome than me."
When Chu Nian wasn't drinking, she would think he was being childish, but after drinking, she felt like he was seducing her. She ran her hands up and down his waist a couple of times and whispered in his ear, "But I only want to sleep with you."
The car lurched uncontrollably a few times, and Chu Nian clung tightly to his waist in fear. The car didn't fall over and continued to drive towards Chu Nian's home.

Inside the bar, Xia Anyi watched Ye Jia laughing and said, "Didn't the teacher say you went to bed at ten o'clock? You've been lying to me all this time. It's almost midnight and you're still in the bar."
"I'm working."
Xia Anyi leaned forward and glanced at her computer screen; she really was working. "Why are you working at a bar?"
"Never mind that." Ye Jia felt a headache coming on. She had thought that she would be fine working after drinking, but she didn't expect that while she was fine doing other things, her eyes started to feel dizzy when she looked at the code.
Xia Anyi had just sat down when Gu Anzhou walked over.
"Are you an adult?" Gu Anzhou asked. "Please cooperate by checking your ID card."
"I just turned eighteen last month."
Gu Anzhou reached out his hand.
Xia Anyi originally wanted to say "I didn't bring it" and see what he would do, but feeling a sense of pressure, he subconsciously reached into his pocket, wanting to make him see it as soon as possible.
After confirming the documents, Gu Anzhou returned them to him: "What would you like to drink?"
Xia Anyi put her things away and looked at Ye Jia: "What does the teacher recommend? What do you think is the best wine here?"
"Get him some non-alcoholic beverage," Ye Jia said without looking up.
“Non-alcoholic? That’s so boring. I won’t call you teacher anymore, so you don’t get too caught up in the role.” Xia Anyi glanced at the drink menu and ordered a mojito.
What was served was a non-alcoholic mojito, and Xia Anyi didn't notice anything wrong with it.
Xia Anyi was drinking "wine" and wanted to talk to Ye Jia, but seeing Ye Jia's "busy, don't bother me" expression, she took out her phone to play chess to pass the time.
Ye Jia finally got up, but only went to the restroom. She was filled with regret and knew she should never work after drinking alcohol again, as alcohol damages the brain.
When Ye Jia came out of the restroom, she saw that Xia Anyi was no longer there, but Gu Anzhou was standing by the table, tidying up the cups on the table.
Where are my students?
"I told him we were closing, and he left."
"Oh." Ye Jia was a little confused, feeling that Xia Anyi wouldn't leave so easily. "It will probably take me another half an hour to an hour."
"No rush." Gu Anzhou took the cup back to the bar and began cleaning.
After all the other customers left the shop and only the sound of Gu Anzhou tidying up remained, Ye Jia felt her mind start to work again.
She also had a short video conference with the client. The lighting in the store wasn't great, but it was enough.
The moment Ye Jia closed her laptop, her mind went blank, her eyes completely unfocused, staring at the ceiling. She realized she was definitely better suited to working during the day; it was exhausting.
Gu Anzhou stopped cleaning, poured a glass of water and handed it to the table, then sat down and asked her, "Would you like something to eat? I'll make you something."
Ye Jia was still in a daze, staring at Gu Anzhou's face for a while.
Weren't we supposed to take her home? Why are we cooking for her now?
As her consciousness gradually cleared, she found it difficult to adjust to working at night, but it seemed that she had achieved her main goal.
