Charge

In the past, Ye Jia was always full of energy while Chu Nian looked listless, but today their states were reversed.

Chu Nian slept very well and felt refreshed, but her back was even more sore. She had to keep pressing it while talking to Ye Jia. She asked Ye Jia, "How are you?"

"As you can see, I didn't sleep well," Ye Jia said, pointing to her dark circles.

"Did I disturb your sleep, or did you spend the whole night talking with Boss Gu?" Chu Nian smiled ambiguously at her, her eyes looking exactly like that lecherous emoji.

Ye Jiaxin was exhausted: "What do you think?"

She stayed in her car for a long time last night, and when she went upstairs, the vibrations were still going off. It was a real disturbance to the neighbors; they should be arrested.

Seeing her reaction, Chu Nian understood and said regretfully, "I was trying to help you, but I couldn't? Is Boss Gu no good? Or is he a pure and innocent boy? The kind that's even purer than Xiao Bai? I don't believe it."

Ye Jia gleaned an implication from her words and asked incredulously, "Don't tell me you deliberately made such a commotion."

"yes."

"..." Ye Jia didn't know what to say, so he could only give her a thumbs up, "You're amazing. I actually believed you when you said nothing would happen."

"I genuinely thought so at first, and then I thought of you guys, so I took the opportunity to act out." Chu Nian looked at the horizon, twirling the end of her hair with her fingers, and sighed, "You're still young. I'm an old lady now, and I've almost forgotten how crazy I was when I was young, but I can't keep up with young people now."

“You’ve been playing all night and you’re still feeling refreshed. You’re saying you can’t play anymore.”

"I'm comparing myself to how I used to be!"

Ye Jia doesn't even dare to think about what kind of life she used to live; it must have been so great.

Chu Nian lay on top of Ye Jia: "So you and Boss Gu just stared at each other without doing anything?"

"No."

Not even a kiss?

"No."

"That's strange." Chu Nian fell into deep thought. She really hadn't seen any desire in Boss Gu's eyes. He always gave people the feeling of being very emotionally stable, unusually indifferent, but there was indeed a tension in him. She didn't know where that tension came from.

Ye Jia wasn't surprised. Although Gu Anzhou hadn't told her anything yet, she could roughly guess some things from his reaction. He needed to be patient, and she happened to be very patient.

“Oh, right,” Chu Nian said, “I’m not going out for drinks tonight. I’m inspired to paint, and I’ve already told Xiao Bai to come to my house after work.”

Ye Jia glanced at her sideways: "That's perfect, I wasn't planning on staying home anyway."

"That's perfect. You two kids can go and have your innocent romance. Xiaobai and I are going to the adult world first."

Ye Jia, carrying her laptop, prepared to leave and patted Chu Nian's waist: "You should still be a little more restrained, don't actually break it."

Facing the damp sea breeze, Ye Jia strolled leisurely toward the bar, gazing at the orange-red glowing in the air above the sea.

She stopped in front of the seafood restaurant, went inside to order food, and ate.

It wasn't lunchtime yet, and there weren't many people in the restaurant, so Sister Chun sat down and chatted with Ye Jia.

"Is that your computer? What are you going to do with it?"

"I'm going to work for Boss Gu."

Sister Chun guessed it, but still sighed deeply: "You really aren't afraid of getting hurt."

Ye Jia laughed: "No, I know what I'm doing, so don't worry."

"I'm so worried, but you really won't turn back until you hit a brick wall," Sister Chun sighed again. "I can only pray that he's a good boy."

After finishing their meal, Ye Jia continued walking towards the bar, where Gu Anzhou was sitting on a bench by the entrance, staring at the opposite side, seemingly lost in thought.

"What are you looking at?" Ye Jia sat down next to him.

"Waiting for the sunset."

"You're closing down the shop?"

Gu Anzhou pointed to the sign hanging on the door, which read: Closed for one week from today until next week.

Ye Jia was a little surprised: "I even brought my computer here to work, what should I do?"

“I’m ready to receive you at any time,” Gu Anzhou said. “Otherwise, I’ll just sit on the balcony upstairs and wait.”

"Oh." Ye Jia's lips curled up, and she also looked in the direction of the sun. "There should still be an hour until sunset."

"You don't want to see? Then let's go inside."

"No, I want to watch it with you, but let's go upstairs and wait."

Ye Jia still remembers how nervous she was when she first entered this bar. She didn't know what the bar was like, let alone what kind of people she would meet. Now she walked in with ease and was even familiar with the rooms on the second floor.

The green plants on the balcony are well cared for; Gu Anzhou just watered them today, and they are lush and green.

The little white kitten was curled up in a ball by the edge of the river, basking in the sun. It lazily glanced at them and then closed its eyes again to continue sleeping.

They sat down, chatted idly, and watched the sunsets for a week.

Ye Jia moved in directly on the second floor, and the bed sheets had already been changed once, indicating that she had already moved in.

Neither of them ever mentioned it verbally; they simply settled down naturally.

Ye Jia never imagined she could do something like this, moving into the home of a man she had only known for less than three months.

But I didn't feel anything was wrong at all. It was only when I thought about it carefully that I felt it shouldn't be like this.

There's nothing wrong with that. Since she chose to leave the mainstream life path and come to this island alone, wasn't she prepared to completely overturn her life?

A week later, thinking that the store was going to open for business, Ye Jia prepared to go back for a visit. However, when she arrived at the door, she found that "Closed for a week" had turned into "Closed for a month".

What's going on? Does he want to open another shop?

Ye Jia went upstairs again, wanting to ask Gu Anzhou what was going on, but he was still sleeping in his room.

This week, they went to bed at roughly the same time every day, and the later they went to bed, from one or two o'clock, and then three o'clock. They didn't talk about anything meaningful, just chatted about trivial things, but they just kept putting off going to sleep.

Although Ye Jia's sleep schedule was completely messed up, she could still wake up naturally after about seven and a half hours, while Gu Anzhou seemed to need to sleep for ten hours every day.

I don't know how much sleep I was lacking before.

Ye Jia ate something and started working, then received a call from Chu Nian.

"Not your sis?" The incredulous voice came through the phone as soon as it connected. "Are you still coming back for dinner?"

"What's wrong?"

"Xiaobai just told me that he passed by a bar and saw that it's going to be closed for a month. What does that mean? What are you two doing?"

"I don't know either."

"Huh? You don't know what you two were up to?"

Ye Jia tilted her head, holding her phone between her ear and shoulder, her hands still busy processing data: "We didn't do anything, I mean I don't know why it has become a business shutdown for so long."

"That's really strange." The voice on the other end suddenly grew louder. "You two are both very strange!"

Just then, Ye Jia heard the door open and Gu Anzhou walk out. His hair was a mess, as if it had just been scratched by a cat, and his eyes were half-closed, looking like he hadn't woken up at all.

Like a sleepwalker, but with perfect precision, he sat down next to Ye Jia, picked up her phone, and placed it next to her ear, acting as a phone stand.

Ye Jia looked at him with amusement and asked the person on the other end of the phone, "Is there anything else?"

"Yes! Yes!" Chu Nian shouted, "I came to see you today."

Gu Anzhou heard this and waved his hand a few times in front of Ye Jia.

Gu Anzhou said no.

The person who was "betrayed" was stunned for a moment, then held the phone to his ear and said to the other end, "Yes, I said no, please don't come."

"Why? A week of rest should have been enough, why do we need to rest for a month? Isn't that a bit too long?"

"But this is my shop."

Chu Nian had nothing to say, nor did she have a chance to speak, as the phone call had already been disconnected.

Gu Anzhou closed his phone and placed it neatly on the table. Then he heard Ye Jia ask, "Why not?"

“I haven’t recharged enough.” Gu Anzhou raised his knees and knelt down next to Ye Jia. “I thought a week would be enough, but it’s too short.”

Ye Jia was somewhat surprised, only to realize that he had been recharging these past few days. However, he could indeed feel that Ye Jia's condition was becoming more relaxed day by day, and he was no longer so tense.

"Are you tired?" Gu Anzhou asked her.

"Me? No."

She was indeed like the sun; he had already drawn a lot of energy from her, but she didn't feel it at all.

Gu Anzhou suddenly leaned on Ye Jia's shoulder, startling her.

What are you doing?

"Charge."

Ye Jia smiled helplessly, raised her hand to pat his head, and prepared to continue working, but soon felt that the position was uncomfortable, so she put her arm around his neck and adjusted it. He cooperated by letting her hand move him around.

But with a big head pressing on her shoulder, it was inconvenient for her to raise her hand to use the keyboard, so she simply pulled him over and let him lie on her lap.

This was a perspective he had never seen before, and Gu Anzhou was momentarily stunned, his head spinning, especially when he smelled her scent, his vision suddenly blurred.

She had a faint scent, like wood or earth, like a forest after a downpour, mixed with a hint of bitterness, yet calming.

Gu Anzhou quickly got used to the position, relaxing his stiff shoulders and neck, hoping it wouldn't make her thighs uncomfortable.

Ye Jia wasn't uncomfortable, she felt a little heavy, but she could handle it. The biggest problem was that she felt a bit of a mess in her stomach, like something was flying or crashing.

She tried to focus on the computer screen, but she was still affected by the slightest feeling coming from a place she had never been so close to before.

But soon Ye Jia felt that Gu Anzhou had fallen asleep again, his breathing becoming very even and obedient.

While Ye Jia was scanning, she looked down at this head and saw such a handsome face sleeping in her arms.

She didn't feel tired at all, and didn't even know why he asked that question. Was he being too internally conflicted, thinking that she would be affected by him?

As Ye Jia watched, she wanted to try it herself.

His left cheek was up, and what was exposed to the world was his ear, which he didn't know had been injured. She gently placed her hand on it and rubbed it. He wasn't alert at all, nor was he woken up. He was still sleeping soundly, only his eyelashes trembled slightly.

Her long eyelashes trembled noticeably, but then calmed down again. Ye Jia reached out and brushed them aside; they were fluffy.

What Ye Jia found even more unbelievable than accepting him was that Gu Anzhou was completely unguarded towards her.

She wanted to see how far she had to touch him before he would wake up.

But after the computer scan was finished, Ye Jia continued working.

Gu Anzhou felt awake, but was too comfortable to open his eyes. He stretched, and his yawn was so long that it filled the entire sofa.

"good afternoon."

Hearing the voice from above, Gu Anzhou opened his eyes and saw Ye Jia staring at him. He sat up abruptly.

He heard Ye Jia let out a "whoosh," and when he turned around, he saw Ye Jia with a furrowed brow covering her mouth.

Only then did he feel a slight pain in his forehead. Gu Anzhou quickly grabbed her hand: "Did I bump into you?"

"Nonsense!" Ye Jia's speech was so unclear that she was pronouncing "f" as "h." She had not only been bumped into, but she had also bitten her tongue.

"Let me see..."

"What the hell are you looking at? How can you look at a tongue?" Ye Jia tried to shrink back, but Gu Anzhou still managed to pry her mouth open.

No, although their relationship seems to have grown much closer, isn't it a bit too close?
