Chapter 112

Mei Liang was aware of his parents' concerns, so before they arrived, he transferred 30,000 yuan to them and promised that he would take care of Mei Jian from now on, so they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Mr. and Mrs. Mei wouldn't actually let Mei Liang take care of their younger son, but hearing Mei Liang say that made them happy, as they felt their eldest son was filial.

Grandma and Grandpa Hao have been living a more carefree life than their sons these past two years. The couple often travels around, either visiting Aunt Mei in the provincial capital or their eldest grandson in a neighboring province.

Recently, the elderly couple had visited all their relatives in other places, so they decided to travel further afield and come to Kyoto with Mr. and Mrs. Mei for a stroll.

At 1 p.m., Mei Si went back to the Mei family home with Wang's father and Wang Ce Lou, and took Mei Liang's car to the train station to pick up people.

Knowing that he had a lot of luggage, Mei Liang specially brought his small cart that he used to move goods.

Upon arriving at the train station, the group bought platform tickets and went inside to wait.

"You know what? I told you not to bring all this junk, but you still brought it? When we get off the bus, how are we going to carry all this stuff?" Dad Mei looked at the scattered items and was very worried.

"If you won't take it, I'll take it myself!" Mom glared at Dad, turned her head, and said angrily.

"Huh? Who said I wasn't going to take it? I meant..." Mei's father felt that his wife was becoming more and more unreasonable. When did he say he wasn't going to take it?

"Stop talking! You've been nagging all the way here!" Mom waved her hand, impatiently interrupting Dad.

"What? Do you think I don't exist? We can help you get it too!" Grandma Hao felt that she and her husband were being looked down upon. "Back then, you were still young, and your dad and I..."

"Alright, alright! Stop talking about it, why bring up the past! So many years have passed since then," Grandpa Hao said, pursing his lips.

Grandma Hao now talks about the old days wherever she goes, and the more she talks, the more exaggerated it gets. Grandpa Hao even doubts whether Grandma Hao is really talking about the two of them.

Was he that capable when he was young? Why doesn't he remember? Grandpa Hao always felt that Grandma Hao was talking about her other husband.

When the train arrived at the station, Mei's dad wasn't in a hurry to unload his luggage. Everyone was getting off now, and since they had a lot of stuff, it would be easier to move it last.

When Third Brother called, he told Mei Si the carriage number of Mei's parents. As soon as the train stopped, Mei Si and the others quickly found their carriage.

Once they found the right carriage and everyone had gotten off, the group quickly went up to look for the person.

Wang's father and Mei Liang didn't get on the bus; they waited at the window, and soon the smaller pieces of luggage were handed out through the window.

On the train, Mei's father was already covered in bags and bundles carried by Mei's mother. Before he even got off the train, sweat was already beading on his forehead.

When Mei Liang saw his parents outside, he quickly knocked on the window.

"Knock knock knock..."

Mei's father had already started walking towards the door and didn't hear the knocking on the window at all. Mei's mother was hanging her luggage on her body and didn't look up when she heard the noise.

Grandpa Hao looked up and spotted his grandson hopping and skipping outside the window.

"Isn't this Mei Liang! Fifth Sister, stop fussing, Mei Liang is here to pick us up!" Grandpa Hao quickly went to the window and opened it.

"Mom, don't move. Sisi and Ce went upstairs to help. Just let them take the things," Mei Liang called out, standing on tiptoe.

"Liangliang, Brother Wang, why did you come in to pick us up?" Mei's mother didn't expect her son to come in to pick them up; he usually waited for them outside.

"Hao Hua called and said that you have a lot of stuff and he won't pick you up at the station, so you probably won't be able to get off the train."

Mei Liang looked at his mother with a grin and said.

"Get out of here! What do you mean you can't get off the bus! You're talking nonsense!" Mei's mother's face flushed, she glared at her son, and turned around to continue tidying up the luggage.

When Mei Si saw her father, she immediately helped him unload most of his things. Wang Ce Lou originally wanted to unload the remaining things from Mei's father as well, but Mei's father stopped him.

“These are no longer needed, I can take them. There are still some more at the back, you go and get those.” As he spoke, Mei’s father walked around Wang Ce’s building and followed his daughter toward the door.

Wang Celou had gotten used to Mei's father always having a stern face whenever he saw him. He hadn't quite understood why before, but now he finally did.

Mei's father is treating him like a class enemy who stole his daughter.

"Does everyone already consider us a couple?" Wang Celou shook his head, muttered to himself, and continued walking inside.

After a flurry of activity, the group finally managed to load everything onto the car. They wiped their sweat and got into the vehicle.

"Hey? There's one person missing?" Mei Liang turned around to check the number of people and found that the number was not right.

“The leak will be back soon,” Mei Si said quickly.

"Honestly, we've been on the train for so long, it must have been exhausting, and he still..." Mei's father seized the opportunity to start whispering in his daughter's ear.

Mei's mother glanced at Wang's father and quickly nudged him with her pestle, signaling him to stop talking.

"Ouch, are you trying to kill me so you can find another one?" Mei's father said angrily, clutching his stomach.

"Dad, what were you about to say?" Mei Si looked at her father, waiting for him to continue.

"Don't listen to your dad's nonsense, just pretend you don't hear what he's saying!" Mom Mei rolled her eyes at Dad Mei and said to her daughter.

Wang Celou got into the car carrying a bag.

"Grandma Hao, Grandpa Hao, come on, have some ice cream." Wang Celou opened the bag, took out ice cream, and handed it to Grandma Hao and Grandpa Hao.

Seeing that everyone was sweating profusely from the heat, Wang Ce Lou ran over to buy ice cream for everyone to cool down, since there happened to be an ice cream stand nearby.

"Ce Lou is so sensible!" Mei's mother took the ice cream, glanced at Mei's father, and praised him.

Mei's father pursed his lips and said nothing more.
