Chapter 12 Meatballs

Mei Liang got a beating when he got home. Mei's father even complained to Mei's mother because of this, feeling that she shouldn't have let Mei Liang take care of their daughter.

This time, it was because Aunt Wang discovered her early that her daughter didn't stay in the snow for too long. If no one had found her, her daughter...

Thinking of this, Mei's father once again took the belt and whipped Mei Liang's buttocks several times.

"Dad, I'll never do it again!" Mei Liang pouted, looking like he was about to cry.

"You dare to do it again? I'll teach you a lesson today. That's your sister, not some random cat or dog! How could you throw your sister into the snow?" Dad Mei's eyes widened, and he raised the belt in his hand again.

"Alright! Don't hurt the child! Liangliang, quickly admit your mistake to your dad." When Grandma Mei saw that Mei's father still wanted to hit the child, she quickly stepped forward to protect Mei Liang behind her.

"Mom! Don't mind him! He deserves a beating!"

Yesi, who was watching the commotion from the kang (heated brick bed), couldn't understand what Mei's father was saying, but she understood that he was helping her get revenge.

"You deserve a beating!" Ye Si thought the last two words her father said sounded particularly satisfying, and she couldn't help but imitate them.

"Oh my! Sisi can say two words now! Come on, Sisi, say it again!" Grandma Mei didn't care about Mei Liang anymore and quickly sat down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), wanting her little granddaughter to say a few more words.

"You deserve a beating! You deserve a beating, you deserve a beating, you deserve a beating..." Ye Si stretched out her short, fat index finger and kept shouting at Mei Liang.

"..." Mei Liang thought he had escaped a disaster, but he never expected that his own sister would treat him like this.

“Yes! He deserves a beating!” Mei’s father glared at his son and agreed with his daughter.

The Mei family thought that since Ye Si started speaking early, she must be able to learn to speak very quickly. Obviously, they overestimated the intelligence of the alien.

For months, despite her family's best efforts to teach her, Ye Si still only knows a few simple words.

This time, Mei Liang's beating actually made his daughter learn to say two words. Mei's father's hands were itching to hit Mei Liang a few more times, wondering if his daughter would be able to say three words directly.

Mei Liang suddenly felt his ears getting hot. He touched his ears, glanced at the belt in his father's hand, and hid behind his grandmother.

The Mei family was very enthusiastic and spent several days teaching Yesi to speak. However, after so many days, Yesi hadn't learned a single word.

Coconut flakes: They're so annoying! Why do they always hang around in front of me?

That day, the coconut flakes were awakened from their slumber by the aroma.

When Ye Si woke up, there was no one in the room. She smelled the aroma of meat and felt anxious. She thought that calling someone in to help her get dressed would take too long, so Ye Si decided to dress herself.

Coconut first picked up the cotton pants, recalling the process of her mother dressing her.

Yesi sat down and started putting on her cotton pants, but after putting them on, Yesi was a little embarrassed. Were the two strings on the pants in the front?

Coconut flakes: Never mind, let's eat the meat first!

Yesi simply put on her cotton-padded coat, turned her back, and slowly got off the kang (a heated brick bed). Yesi slipped on her cotton-padded shoes, picked up her cotton-padded trousers that kept falling down, and pushed open the door to go out.

Mei's parents, who were making dumplings, were very surprised to see the coconut shreds that had spilled out of their hands.

"Daughter, did you put these clothes on yourself?" Mr. Mei asked Mrs. Mei, somewhat surprised to see the clothes on his daughter.

"I wanted her to sleep a little longer, so I didn't put her clothes on."

"Right! Right right right!" Coconut started shouting for meat as soon as it saw someone.

Grandma Mei, who was busy in the kitchen, heard her granddaughter's voice and knew that she had smelled the meat.

As the family's financial situation improves, and today is her granddaughter's birthday, Grandma Mei specially set aside some of the meat filling from making dumplings to fry a plate of meatballs for the children in the family.

Grandma Mei took a meatball into the house, intending to give it to her granddaughter to satisfy her craving.

"Who dressed Sisi in these clothes? The pants are on backwards!" Grandma Mei immediately realized that her granddaughter's cotton pants were on backwards when she saw that the suspenders of her overalls were in the front.

"Right! Right!" Coconut sniffed, staring at what Grandma Mei was holding, and reached out for the meat.

"Here you go, here you go, this is for you." Grandma Mei put the meatballs in her granddaughter's hand, wiped her hands with a damp cloth, lifted her granddaughter onto the kang (a heated brick bed), and began to help her take off her cotton-padded trousers.

"My daughter dressed herself," said Mr. Mei, rolling out dumpling wrappers and nodding his head with satisfaction.

"Look how pleased you are with yourself. Isn't your daughter my granddaughter?" Mom Mei rolled her eyes at Dad Mei and continued making dumplings.

"Sisi dressed herself? No one taught her to dress herself! My granddaughter is so smart!" Grandma Mei smiled and helped Yesi put her cotton pants back on.

Coconut focused on finishing the meatballs in her hand. After she finished eating, Coconut reached out her hand to Grandma Mei again.

“Right!” said Coconut Silk, stretching out its oily little hand.

"I think you look like meat. There's none left. We'll eat you at dinner tonight." Grandma Mei put her granddaughter's little hand in her mouth, pretending to take a bite.

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhh (She actually ate her own kind, and even her own cubs! How terrifying!)!" Upon seeing Grandma Mei's actions, Ye Si felt a chill run down her spine and quickly snatched her hand back, retreating repeatedly to stay away from Grandma Mei.

The family planned to have a simple lunch and save room for dumplings in the evening. There was only coconut flakes on the table, and when she saw that there was no meat, she got excited and started shouting "Right!" repeatedly.

"Mom, how about we get two more meatballs for Sisi?" Mei's father couldn't hold back any longer. He felt that since his daughter wanted to eat them, she should be given some.

“I’ve already calculated the time; those meatballs will be eaten by the time you leave.” Grandma Mei remained unmoved, determined not to spoil her granddaughter.

"Meatballs?! I want to eat them!" Mei Liang's eyes lit up when he heard there were meatballs, and he looked at Grandma Mei longingly.

"Why are you joining in this commotion? If we're going to eat, it'll be tonight. If it weren't for your sister's birthday today, do you think you'd even get to eat meatballs? Hurry up and eat!" Mei's father glared at Mei Liang and said.
