Chapter 127

Meis shook her head.

"Could it be 800?" The eldest sister's gaze towards Mei Si changed completely. This girl's family must be quite large!

“Eight! This gesture clearly means 8.” Mei Si raised her hand, revealing that it was clearly an 8, and everyone has known it was an 8 for so many years. Why does this woman think it's 80 or 800?

"Why would you buy such a big house for eight people? Are you going to live on one floor each?" The older sister's gaze towards Mei Si changed again, becoming somewhat strange.

"Hmm..." Mei Si was about to nod when she was interrupted by her older sister's next words.

"Oh! I see, is your family planning to open a guesthouse? That's why you bought such a big house?" The older sister slapped her thigh, finally understanding why Mei Si bought such a large house.

"A guesthouse? That's exactly how I planned to decorate it, which is why I was thinking of installing flooring."

"Your family doesn't run a guesthouse?" the older woman asked in surprise.

"No, it's for my own residence." Mei Si was a little puzzled. Did a large area necessarily have to be used for business?

"Such a large area, 8 people living here..."

The older sister shook her head, unsure whether she should offer some advice.

The older sister couldn't understand what this family was thinking. With such a large area and so few people living there, it must be freezing cold all year round, right?

"What's wrong? You're not letting your own family live here?" Mei Si frowned. She should have asked the person buying the house when she bought it.

"It's not that we can't let you stay, it's just that such a big place has few people and no warmth; it will be very cold inside." The older sister felt she should remind Mei Si that she wouldn't earn money through dishonest means.

"Cold? Isn't there heating?"

"Heating? Oh! So you bought a new house! With heating, that will make things much better." The older woman nodded. It's good to have heating; it won't be too cold.

After arranging a time with her older sister to take measurements, Mei Si went home. Her older sister said that she needed the measurements of the toilet, kitchen, and other areas to determine the required length of water pipe.

Meisi came here without knowing anything. Even if she buys everything, she might not be able to use it and it would be a waste of money.

The eldest sister has already agreed that when her husband goes tomorrow, she will have him take her measurements.

Mei Si got home at noon. It was unusual that her parents and older brother came home so early.

"Sisi's back? Have you eaten? I'll go get you some bowls and chopsticks." Grandma Mei put down her chopsticks and got up to go to the kitchen to get some bowls and chopsticks for her granddaughter.

"No need, Grandma, you keep eating, I'll get it myself." Mei Si hung the bag on the clothes hanger and turned to go to the kitchen to get the bowl and chopsticks.

Mei Si washed her hands, took the bowl and chopsticks, sat down on the chair next to her sister-in-law, and handed the bowl to her sister-in-law who reached out her hand.

"Thank you, sister-in-law," Mei Si said, taking the bowl of rice that her sister-in-law handed her.

"Don't thank me, hurry up and eat! It's so late, you haven't eaten yet, you must be starving." Qian Tu waved his hand, gesturing for Mei Si to eat quickly.

"Dad, Mom, why are you back so early?" Mei Si asked, picking up a piece of cumin-flavored beef with her chopsticks.

"Sigh! Your brother's shop is going to be moved." Aunt Mei sighed, somewhat worried, wondering if her son could find a shop in such a good location again.

"Change locations? Why?" Mei Si paused in her eating and looked up to ask.

“The bungalows over there are going to be demolished to make way for apartment buildings. The landlord wants us to move out within two weeks,” Mei Liang said, frowning.

"Mei Liang, how about I go out and look for something tomorrow? How long will it take you to find something by yourself?" Mei's father was worried that there wasn't enough time and his son wouldn't be able to find a good place by himself.

"No, my mom can't manage on her own." Mei Liang shook his head. The shop was already too busy if he left, and if Mei's dad left too, Mei's mom would be all alone in the shop. That wouldn't do.

“I can go. You and Dad can go find a place together, and it will be faster.”

"Qian Tu quickly replied."

“You can’t do that! You’re not even three months pregnant yet. You can’t keep going back and forth like that. The baby is the priority!” Grandma Mei’s face fell, and she wouldn’t allow her granddaughter-in-law to go to the shop to help.

"Little Rabbit should stay home quietly. Sisi will help out tomorrow." Mei's mother suddenly remembered that she had a daughter who had been quite idle lately.

"Sisi, what have you been doing these past few days? Your grandma said you've been going out a lot." Mei's mother asked, looking at her daughter.

"I can't go tomorrow, I have something to do." Mei Si swallowed the meat in her mouth, indicating that she couldn't go tomorrow.

"Hmph! What could you possibly be up to? You're probably just going to see that brat from the Wang family." Mei's father curled his lip and glanced at his daughter. "You can see him anytime. It won't hurt to miss a day."

"I really have something to do tomorrow, something important!"

Mei looked at her father with a serious expression, indicating that she was not going out to fool around tomorrow.

"Then tell me, what important business do you have?" Mei's father didn't believe for a second that his daughter could have anything important to discuss.

"Brother, are you looking for a shop?" Mei Si suddenly realized that she had bought a shop today, so Mei Liang didn't need to go out and look for one anymore.

"Hmm! Do you know where there are any vacant shops?" Mei Liang's eyes lit up, thinking that his sister had seen vacant shops.

"Yes, but it's a bit far from where your shop is now."

"It's a bit far. Is there a school over there?" Mei Liang was about to give up when he heard that the location was far away, but then he suddenly realized that as long as it was next to a school, he wouldn't have to worry about not having business!

"Schools? Yes, two, one junior high and one senior high." Mei Si nodded her chin, thought for a moment, and realized that there were two schools in front of the shop.
