Chapter 83

"I can do it!" Wei Min said, gripping the front seat cover tightly.

"..." Mei Si turned to look at Wei Min, her eyes darting around, not understanding what Wei Min was saying.

"Wow! Look, Meisi, look! Look at that woman, she's wearing so little!" Wei Min suddenly exclaimed, pointing out the window with wide eyes.

Seeing Wei Min's excitement, Mei Si quickly turned to look. Sure enough, there was a foreign woman on the street wearing only a tank top and briefs.

Her hairstyle is something you'd only see in public bathhouses in China.

Wei Min's voice was so loud that everyone on the bus heard it, and everyone craned their necks to look out the window out of curiosity.

Coach Li also saw the scantily clad woman. He blushed deeply with embarrassment and quickly looked away.

"Ahem... What business is it of yours what other people wear? All of you, sit down properly!" Coach Li stood up from his seat, turned around and reprimanded everyone with a serious expression.

Mays felt that her teammates had been acting strangely ever since they boarded the plane. They seemed particularly agitated, and some of them even had veins in their heads throbbing.

Mei Si was completely baffled, not understanding what was wrong with these people. Were they sick? Was it an infectious disease? Otherwise, how could so many people have the same symptoms?

For the rest of the journey, Mei Si remained unmoved no matter what Wei Min asked her to look at. Mei Si felt that Wei Min was seriously ill and that her words should not be taken seriously.

Mays: When we get there, I must tell the coach to find a doctor for everyone. I don't know if this illness will affect the game.

Upon arriving at their accommodation, everyone collected their luggage and got off the bus. Standing at the entrance, they all seemed a little lost.

Before they arrived, everyone had heard from their coaches that the place was where athletes from various countries stayed, but they didn't expect there to be so many people.

As the chattering foreigners walked past them, everyone looked at their own mother hen—no, their coach—like little chicks.

Meisi: That dark-skinned guy looks like the person in the photo that people in the group often post. Do they know each other?

"That person is so young, and has no wrinkles on their face, so why is their hair white?" Mei asked, pointing to the silver-haired woman at the front gate.

Mei Si: Shouldn't people with a full head of white hair be elderly? They should be at least grandmother-level age, right? Why is this woman's hair white even though she's not that old?

“You don’t understand, do you? She should have premature gray hair.” Chen Kunming tilted his head back and glanced sideways at Mei Si as he spoke.

"Slap!" Coach Li slapped Chen Kunming on the back of the head.

"What nonsense are you spouting? Her hair was that color when she was born. What do you mean by premature graying? Don't pretend to know what you don't. You're setting a bad example for Mei Si."

As they were talking, several foreigners walked over to them. The coaches exchanged glances, and the national team's team leader, Captain Chen, and vice-captain, Coach Wang, went to greet them.

When the group walked up to everyone, they realized that there was another person following behind these foreigners. That person had short black hair and yellow skin.

Everyone's eyes lit up, and they all had the same thought: This is a Chinese person!

The man whispered a few words to the foreigner in the lead, then looked over at Coach Wang and Captain Chen.

"Welcome, friends from China. We have prepared rooms for you. However, George has a few things to discuss with you. Please send two people who can understand English..." William Sue said in a businesslike manner.

William Sue's Mandarin wasn't very good, so everyone had to listen and guess. It took them a long time to understand what he meant.

Coach Wang gave a few instructions, and then he and Captain Chen left with a few foreigners.

William Sue stayed behind; he needed to take them to their lodgings.

After standing there dumbfounded with William Sue for a long time, everyone started whispering among themselves. They thought this Chinese man from abroad was very strange, not only because he spoke in a strange tone, but also because he seemed a bit silly.

A short while later, several buses without roofs drove up in the distance. Just as everyone was wondering why these buses didn't have roofs, the buses stopped in front of them.

William Sue began to call everyone to get on the bus.

"Everyone, grab your luggage, we're heading to our lodgings." - William Sue

He said it in a sarcastic tone.

After driving for 10 minutes, passing one house after another, some people started to get impatient as the car continued to drive.

"How much further? Aren't the houses here quite nice? Why don't you stay here?"

"Exactly! They've arranged for us to go so far away. How are we supposed to get out? It takes so long to get there by car, it's so inconvenient to walk!"

"Don't worry, everyone. The reason we have to walk this far is because our country has specially prepared an entire building for you. Only Chinese contestants will live in that building. The houses in front are for people from several countries. I don't think you want to live separately, do you?" William Su explained through a megaphone.

Everyone nodded in realization. Oh, so living together is the best thing. We're all Chinese, so it's comfortable living together.

The car drove for another 10 minutes before stopping. Everyone took their luggage and got off the car. Looking at the six-story building in front of them, they realized that this was where they would be staying for the next few days.

"This phone is for calling a car. It's available 24/7. If you want to go out, just call for a car. The number is here," William Sue said, pointing to the phone hanging on the wall by the door.

"Everyone has a telephone in their room, and next to the telephone is a list of the services we can provide. These include things like laundry, ironing, and if you need a toothbrush or toothpaste, you can make international calls. However, international calls are charged and very expensive! Unless it's something important, we suggest you don't make international calls unnecessarily."

"This is my phone number. If you want to go out but don't know where to go, you can call me anytime. Don't feel troubled; this is my job."

William Sue took out the business card he had prepared beforehand.

"Okay, thank you." Coach Xu stepped forward and took the business card from William Sue, frowning as he watched his retreating figure.

"This guy doesn't seem to want to have much contact with us," Coach Li said with a stern face.

"Let's put him aside for now and arrange dormitories for everyone."

Coach Xu winked at Coach Li and said.

The team members are all present at this time, so they shouldn't speak too casually.

After the strange Chinese man left, everyone started looking around. They weren't stupid; they could sense that the Chinese man didn't like them.

To bring honor to their country, they suppressed their curiosity the entire way, holding back any new or unusual things they saw, neither asking nor showing any surprise.
