After the initial novelty wore off, everyone returned to their seats and began chatting quietly with the people next to them.
Gradually, even the chatting decreased. At this time of day, everyone would be asleep. The reason we were able to chat for so long was because it was my first time on a plane, and I was excited.
Mei Si was also sleepy. She had just eaten two boxes of airplane food, barely enough to make her half full. Feeling a little down, Mei Si closed her eyes, thinking that she would feel better if she fell asleep and wouldn't be hungry anymore.
Wu Chunmei was woken up by the urge to urinate. She had drunk a lot of juice before going to bed and now needed to go to the toilet.
Wu Chunmei rubbed her eyes and stood up. She looked at the dimly lit cabin and suddenly felt a little scared. This place was too unfamiliar, and she didn't want to go to the toilet alone.
Wu Chunmei nudged Wei Min, who was sitting next to her, but Wei Min was fast asleep and wouldn't wake up no matter how she was nudged.
Wu Chunmei couldn't hold back any longer, so she mustered her courage and walked to the back of the cabin.
When she reached the toilet door, Wu Chunmei felt even more panicked. There wasn't a soul around, and if something happened to her, she wouldn't even have time to call for help.
Wu Chunmei suddenly shuddered, squeezed her legs together—she couldn't take it anymore! She had to go in quickly!
Wu Chunmei didn't care about anything else; she bent over and pushed open the toilet door.
After relaxing, Wu Chunmei realized that the toilet wasn't scary at all; the lights were always on, making it much brighter than the cabin.
She pulled up her pants, washed her hands, and was about to open the bathroom door to leave when the plane suddenly began to shake violently.
Wu Chunmei lost her balance and sat back down on the toilet. Terrified, she turned pale and grabbed the toilet partition with one hand while trying to turn the door lock with the other.
But she was so scared that her hands kept shaking, and she couldn't reach the lock no matter what she did.
Just when Wu Chunmei was in despair, she suddenly heard someone calling her.
"Sister Wu? Sister Wu!"
Wu Chunmei knew it was Wei Min's voice; although it was very soft, she heard it clearly.
"..." Wu Chunmei opened her mouth, wanting to shout "Help!", but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't utter those two words.
Wu Chunmei was sweating profusely with anxiety, thinking she was going to die there today.
"Sister Wu, wake up! Come with me to the toilet, I'm scared!" Wei Min shook Wu Chunmei even harder.
Wu Chunmei: Toilet? Wake up? Where am I...?
Wu Chunmei suddenly opened her eyes, startling Wei Min in front of her. Wei Min clutched her chest and sat back down, taking a while to remember that she needed to go to the toilet.
Wu Chunmei's heart was pounding wildly. She took several deep breaths before she could calm down. She wiped her sweat, and her face was no longer so pale.
Wu Chunmei: It was just a dream, it almost scared me to death.
"Sister Wu, I...I need to go to the toilet." Wei Min's voice grew softer and softer as she spoke. She felt that Wu Chunmei's gaze was strange, particularly fierce, as if she wanted to devour her.
Wu Chunmei glared at Wei Min a few times. Now she knew why the plane was shaking in her dream; it was Wei Min shaking her.
At first, Wei Min was able to stay still in her seat, but gradually, it was as if nails had grown into her buttocks, and she began to rub them incessantly.
"Sigh... Let's go." Seeing Wei Min's pitiful appearance, Wu Chunmei sighed helplessly and got up to accompany Wei Min to the toilet.
When Wei Min shook Wu Chunmei, Mei Si, who was sitting in the back seat, woke up, but she didn't make a sound.
Wei Min didn't say why she shook Wu Chunmei, and Mei Si thought that Wei Min had something important to tell Wu Chunmei.
When the two returned from the restroom, Wu Chunmei realized that Mei Si was awake.
"Do you need to go to the toilet? I'll go with you." Mei Si is younger and probably even more timid than Wei Min. If Mei Si wants to go to the toilet, she'll go with her again.
"No need to come with me, I'll go by myself. You go to sleep." Mei Si shook her head and refused.
Mei Si was a little confused. Why did they have to go to the toilet together? Wu Chunmei kept yawning, clearly still half asleep. Shouldn't she be hurrying back to her seat to continue sleeping?
"I'll go with you!" Wu Chunmei rubbed her eyes, thinking that Mei Si was just shy, so she simply pulled Mei Si up and didn't give her a chance to refuse.
When Mei Si finished using the restroom and went back with Wu Chunmei, she found that everyone was gradually waking up and starting to go to the restroom in twos and threes.
Wu Chunmei: That's true. Everyone drank plenty of the free juice on the plane.
Back in her seat, Wu Chunmei continued to sleep in a daze, but Mei Si was wide awake.
Mei Si stared blankly at the back of the chair in front of her for a while, then took out a piece of paper from the hidden compartment. When Mei Si unfolded the paper, she realized that it was a map.
Mei Si was sitting in a row of seats far back, and she was the only one sitting there. Mei Si looked up and turned on the reading lamp on the ceiling.
The map is of L City in the M country, and it shows in detail where to go shopping and which areas have the best local delicacies.
Mei Si leaned closer to the map, carefully examining the food areas, planning to go there for a good meal during her free time.
“Ding ding ding…”
Just as Mei Si had memorized the map, all the lights in the cabin suddenly turned on.
"Attention passengers, flight..."
The flight attendant's sweet voice rang out in the cabin, reminding everyone to adjust their seat backs and fasten their seat belts.
The national team members have regained the energy and spirit they had when they boarded the plane. They're here! They're going to bring glory to their country! They're going to become world-famous!!!
People tend to talk a lot when they get excited, and we were constantly talking on the way to the dormitory.
“Look over there, that building looks so strange!” Wei Min said, pointing to a building outside the window.
Sitting by the window, Mei Si looked out the window in the direction Wei Min pointed. Mei Si carefully observed the building for a long time but couldn't see anything strange about it.
