Chapter 28 The Two Fat Men Fight

Grandpa Hao had lunch at his in-laws' house before leisurely walking home. When he got home, he found that Grandma Hao and her granddaughter were not there.

"Where could they have gone?" Grandpa Hao searched the front and back yards, but still couldn't find them.

Grandma Hao simply couldn't bear being alone with Sisi any longer, so after lunch she started taking her granddaughter to visit other people's homes.

They went from house to house, staying at each one for a while, and quickly left before the residents tried to chase them away.

In just one afternoon, Grandma Hao offended almost all of her longtime neighbors.

"Sigh!" Grandma Hao looked at the sky, sighed, and led her granddaughter home.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh..."

"..." Grandma Hao looked at her granddaughter, who kept sighing, with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. She shook her head and decided to shut up and stop talking.

When Grandma Hao got home, she pushed the coconut shreds into the house and went to the kitchen to cook, completely ignoring Grandpa Hao who was smiling and welcoming her.

Grandpa Hao scratched his head and followed her into the kitchen, intending to help Grandma Hao with the fire or something.

"Add more water. You know I love radish soup the most, right?" Grandpa Hao couldn't help but remind Grandma Hao to add more water when he saw that she had only added two scoops of water to the radish soup.

"Hmph! My cooking is terrible, so you'd better not drink this soup, lest you get poisoned." Grandma Hao was still holding a grudge from this morning, and she didn't include Grandpa Hao in the soup she made.

"You old lady, are you deaf? When did I say your cooking was bad? I was saying that your fourth son's wife might not like your cooking." Grandpa Hao knew he couldn't admit that he really meant it, otherwise Grandma Hao would never let it go.

Grandpa Hao got up and scooped two ladles of water into the pot himself. He truly meant it when he said he loved Grandma Hao's radish soup.

Grandpa Hao has been eating Grandma Hao's cooking for so many years, and his favorite thing is Grandma Hao's soup. Grandma Hao's dishes are either too salty or too bland, but her soup is always just right. Drinking it hot makes you feel warm all over.

"..." Grandma Hao did not stop Grandpa Hao from adding water, which can be considered as tacit approval of Grandpa Hao's behavior.

When Sister-in-law Hao and her family returned in the evening, Grandpa Hao told them that he planned to send Sisi to his third son's house to stay for a few days.

"Will this work? Don't let Sisi cause another falling out with your third sister-in-law's family." Sister-in-law Hao was quite happy inside, but she didn't show it on her face.

"No, they don't have anything else to do at home all day except look after Xiaopang. Xiaopang is really naughty now, and he's especially troublesome. I think Sisi is much better behaved than Xiaopang." Grandpa Hao stayed there for a few hours and got a firsthand experience of how troublesome his grandson was.

Grandpa Hao compared his granddaughter and grandson in his mind and immediately felt that his granddaughter was simply a little fairy. Even though she kept nagging, she was still more lovable than the chubby boy.

The next morning, Grandma Hao got up early and started busying herself, sometimes packing eggs, sometimes getting meat.

"What are you doing? Fourth Brother and his wife are well-off; they don't lack anything there." Grandpa Hao snatched the things from Grandma Hao's hands and put them on the table, refusing to let Grandma Hao take them.

"How could we not lack food? Fourth brother's wife is still pregnant and has plenty of food to eat."

"Then bring a basket of eggs." Grandpa Hao didn't want to argue with Grandma Hao, so he had no choice but to agree to let her bring some eggs.

"That meat..." Grandma Hao felt that the piece of meat should be taken along.

"They eat meat every day, they won't miss your piece."

Grandpa Hao disagreed with Grandma Hao taking the meat, because it was for the children in the family and couldn't just be given away.

The Hao family members, busy with their own affairs, didn't notice that Ye Si was unusually quiet today.

Grandma Hao got ready and led her granddaughter onto the tricycle, which Grandpa Hao then pedaled to his third daughter-in-law's house.

When they arrived, Grandpa Hao got out of the car and carried his granddaughter into the house. Grandma Hao didn't go in with her; she had to stay in the car and watch over the eggs.

"Brother Hao is here! This must be Sisi, right? She's gotten so chubby!" Old Xu exclaimed upon seeing Ye Si, marveling at how well the Hao family's daughter had married. "Look how well they've raised her, she's as fat as a vat!"

"Oh, this is Sisi. I'll be going now. Your sister-in-law is waiting in the car. I'll come back to have a drink with you in a couple of days!" Grandpa Hao quickly left with Grandma Hao after seeing his granddaughter into the house.

Halfway there, the two of them belatedly realized what was happening.

"Sisi didn't seem to say much today," Grandpa Hao suddenly said.

"Is he still sleepy?" Grandma Hao thought that children would only be listless when they were not fully awake.

"Well, it's possible."

Grandpa Hao nodded and continued pedaling his bicycle toward his fourth son's house.

"Sisi, do you still remember your little chubby brother?" Grandma Xu asked, pointing to Hao Xiaopang, who was fast asleep on the kang, after struggling to carry the coconut shreds onto the kang.

"Fatty!" Ye Si looked at Hao Xiaopang's appearance and remembered that he was the one she had defeated.

"Yes, Little Fatty!" Grandma Xu nodded and patiently taught Ye Si to speak.

"Little...fatty?" Coconut shreds struggled to repeat after him.

"Yes! Sisi is so smart." Grandma Xu nodded and praised.

Coconut's "Study God Coupon" has expired, and no one in the group has any more "Study God Coupons" left, so Coconut is now using "Exam God Coupons".

The exam god coupon is magical, but Sisi is currently in an awkward situation where she understands what it means but doesn't know how to use it.

"Little Fatty, Little Fatty, Little Fatty." Coconut Fatty's face turned bright red as he repeated it three times.

"Shh! We'll play with you when your little chubby brother wakes up!" Grandma Xu thought that Sisi might wake up her grandson if she stayed here, so she picked up the heavy Sisi again and took her to the next room.
