Everyone was asleep, except for Mei Si, who wasn't sleepy at all. Mei Si couldn't keep her eyes open because Aunt Li would come over every now and then to cover everyone with blankets.
Mei Si initially thought that whether or not someone slept depended on the individual and that Aunt Li wouldn't care. However, when Aunt Li saw that she wasn't sleeping, she sat down next to her and patted her for a long time.
After that, Mei Si learned her lesson and started to close her eyes and let her mind wander.
Ten minutes passed...
20 minutes passed...
For the first time, Mei Si felt that time was passing very slowly. Mei Si suddenly thought of the group chat in her mind, which she hadn't opened in a long time.
——————————
Yuzu: What has everyone been up to lately? Nobody's been chatting in the group anymore. [Well-behaved]
Bobo: Everyone is working hard to write.
Yuzu: Huh? Everyone's this diligent?? [Speechless]
Bobo: Of course, Dangdang is now writing 10,000 words a day, and I've been sitting in front of the computer all day lately, and I feel like my neck doesn't belong to me anymore.
Yuzu: I believe you and Dangdang can do 10,000 in a day, but what about Lao Xia? Her hand speed is about the same as mine, she wouldn't be doing 10,000 in a day now, would she?
Bobo: She's been watching the surveillance footage of her son's daycare every day lately.
Yuzu: A daycare center? What place? A kindergarten?
Bobo: Yes, I'm used to calling it nursery.
Yuzu: You still haven't told me why she was watching the security camera.
Bobo: Her son told her a few days ago that the daycare teacher was mean to him.
Yuzu: Ah! Let Lao Xia complain about that teacher!
Bobo: We need to find evidence. Lao Xia has been watching the surveillance footage for several days, but he still hasn't caught that teacher doing anything wrong.
Yuzu: Did the teacher know she was watching the security camera?
Bobo: I don't know. Lao Xia doesn't do anything during the day now, he just keeps staring at the surveillance cameras.
Yuzu: Suddenly I feel that being a parent is so hard, it's better to live alone.
Bobo: You're thinking like this now, but once you start dating in a few years, you won't have this thought anymore.
Yuzu: I have absolutely no desire to be in a relationship.
Bobo: ...You haven't been posting in the group lately, have you already written tens of thousands of words in your drafts?
Grapefruit:……
BoBo: Tell me, how many drafts do you have saved up? [Adjusts glasses.jpg]
Yuzu: You're overthinking it. I'm busy studying and watching dramas right now. How could I possibly have time to save up drafts?
cake:……

Hearing the noise, Mei Si realized it was time for everyone to get up. She closed the group chat in her mind, rubbed her eyes, got up, and prepared to get off the kang (heated brick bed) and put on her shoes.
"Sisi, since you used Jiajia's blanket, you should fold it up for her." Aunt Li quickly reminded Meisi when she saw her get up to leave.
"Fold the quilt? Okay." Mei Si looked down at the small quilt on the kang, then at what others were doing, and squatted down to fold the quilt.
"No need, no need, I can fold it myself." Liu Jiajia climbed over and started folding the quilt.
When Mei Si saw that Liu Jiajia "strongly" insisted on folding the paper herself, she stood up and stopped interfering, watching Liu Jiajia fold the paper.
"..." Aunt Li opened her mouth, wanting Mei Si to help, but before she could speak, Liu Jiajia had already neatly folded the quilt.
Aunt Li: Forget it, Mei Si just arrived, let's not keep nagging her.
Back in the classroom, Aunt Li first had everyone line up to drink water, and then, as usual, she planned to lead the children in singing for a while.
Mays: What is that strange wooden box?
"If anyone needs to use the restroom, raise your hand and let me know. Now let's sing. Shall we start with 'I Love Beijing Tiananmen'?" Aunt Li opened the organ lid and looked at everyone, saying this.
"Okay!" everyone said in unison.
As the music started, Meis stared wide-eyed at the wooden box that was making the sound, eager to go over and see how it made the noise.
"I love Beijing Tiananmen, the sun rises over Tiananmen, one hundred (ready) ~ rise!" Aunt Li sang the first line.
"I love Beijing Tiananmen, the sun rises over Tiananmen! Great leader Chairman Mao, guides us..." The children sang along with the music at the top of their lungs.
Mei Si glanced at the organ for a while, then at Liu Jiajia and Xu Aihua singing, and thought this thing called "door" was just as strange as that game. These children seemed very excited.
Aunt Li had noticed earlier that Mei Si wasn't singing along with everyone, so after the song was finished, she planned to teach Mei Si.
"Sisi doesn't know this song, shall we teach her together?"
"Okay!" the children shouted in unison.
“Then I’ll sing a line, and everyone can repeat it together. Sisi, you have to sing along with everyone this time. How can you learn it if you don’t sing along?” Aunt Li said, looking at Mei Si.
Mei Si nodded, intending to learn from them. These children all knew how to do it; if she didn't, wouldn't she expose herself?
“I love Beijing Tiananmen Square…” As soon as Mei Si opened her mouth, she noticed that Liu Jiajia and Xu Aihua were looking at her strangely.
Mei Si: Could it be that I sang it wrong? Impossible, I didn't sing a single word wrong.
Liu Jiajia: It sounds awful! Mei Si's singing is terrible!
Xu Aihua: Mei Si isn't good at everything, her singing is really awful, like a duck.
Mei Si sang along for a few lines and felt she was getting better and better at it. By the time Aunt Li sang it a second time, Mei Si had already memorized the lyrics.
When Aunt Li saw that Mei Si had learned it, she started telling stories.
"Our Red Army uncles are passing by..."
Aunt Li was interrupted by a child halfway through her story.
"Auntie, I need to go to the toilet!" a child raised his hand.
