Chapter 353 Who is investigating
After saying that, Chi Lin hung up the phone, leaving Ji Wan alone sitting by the bed, the fear in his heart surging like a tide.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
Ji Wan stood up alertly and looked through the peephole. It was Fu Qichuan and Sheng Yanjing.
She opened the door and was met with the two men's solemn expressions.
"Something happened." Fu Qichuan got straight to the point. "The Hua family already knows about Hua Junyi's situation. They are investigating who did it."
Ji Wan's face turned pale. "How could they know so quickly?"
Sheng Yanjing sighed, "News spreads quickly in Yucheng, especially when something as big as this happens. The Hua family has already announced that they're going to find the people who hurt Hua Junyi and give them a hard time."
Ji Wan leaned weakly against the door frame, "Then what should I do?"
Fu Qichuan said seriously: "First, you have to tell us the truth. What happened?"
Ji Wan hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to confess.
She told them everything about how Hua Junyi harassed her and how she fought back.
"I see." Fu Qichuan's expression eased slightly after hearing this. "This was self-defense. You're not wrong."
"But the Hua family wouldn't think so." Sheng Yanjing smiled bitterly, "Besides, there is no evidence to prove that Hua Junyi has done anything wrong to you."
Ji Wan closed his eyes in despair, "I'm done, am I?"

Ji Wan's eyes lit up, "Really?"
"I'll check it out now." Fu Qichuan turned around and prepared to leave, but was stopped by Ji Wan.

Fu Qichuan and Sheng Yanjing exchanged a glance, and Sheng Yanjing replied, "We haven't told him yet, but with his abilities, he should have noticed something."
Ji Wan nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
She didn't want to involve Chi Wenyan. This was her own trouble and she should solve it herself.
After Fu Qichuan and Sheng Yanjing left, Ji Wan sat by the window, looking at the calm sea in the distance, but her heart was turbulent. She didn't know what would happen next, nor did she know if she could get through this.
The only certainty was that her troubles had only just begun.
Just then, her phone rang again. It was a text message. She clicked it and her face turned pale.
The text message came from an unfamiliar number. The content was simple and direct: "Ms. Ji, we know it was you who did it. The Hua family will not let you go. Just wait."
Ji Wan looked at the threatening text message on his phone screen, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
She deleted the text message with trembling fingers, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down.
"Don't panic. The more panicked you are, the easier it is to make mistakes." Ji Wan muttered to himself, forcing himself to clear his thoughts.
She stood up and paced back and forth in the hotel room. On one side was the threat from the Hua family, and on the other side was Chi Lin's questioning. She felt like she was walking on a tightrope, and if she wasn't careful, she would fall into the abyss.
The phone rang again, and Ji Wan was so startled that she almost threw it away. After seeing that it was a message from Chi Lin, her heart tightened. Chi Lin sent a photo of her and Chi Wenyan standing on a surfboard, smiling at each other, close to each other.
"Explain." Chi Lin's brief words seemed to carry endless anger.
Ji Wan recalled Chi Lin's questioning on the phone just now, and his mood became even more complicated.
Her marriage with Chi Lin had long been dead in name only, and they had even reached a consensus on divorce. How could he still be so angry about her behavior?

After sending this message, Ji Wan threw his phone on the bed, not wanting to read Chi Lin's reply.
She needs to think calmly about how to deal with possible revenge from the Hua family.
Just as Ji Wan was lost in thought, someone knocked on the door. When he opened it, it was a hotel cleaner.
"Miss, have you run out of towels? I'm here to bring you new ones." The cleaner asked with a smile.
"Thank you, but I still have enough towels." Ji Wan replied politely.
The cleaner didn't leave immediately. Instead, he lowered his voice and said, "Did you know something happened on the beach today? A man was beaten in the bathroom. I heard his balls were broken."
Ji Wan's heart tightened, and he pretended to be calm: "Really? Is the injury serious?"
"That's right, he was taken away in an ambulance," the cleaner gossiped. "I heard it was the only child of the Hua family, a big family in Yucheng. When Mr. Hua heard about it, he was so angry that he almost had a heart attack and threatened to cut the murderer into pieces."
Ji Wan's face turned paler and paler. "Does the police have any clues?"
"I don't know about that." The cleaner shook her head. "But the Hua family is very powerful in Yucheng. Even if the police don't intervene, they can find it themselves." After that, she added, "Are you okay? You don't look well."
