Chapter 434 Negotiating Conditions
She dressed up carefully and even changed into a dress that she thought would be most attractive to Chi Wenyan.
The black car stopped, and Chi Wenyan stepped out. He wore a neatly tailored suit, though it was stained with dust, and his once meticulous hair was a bit messy. He stood there like an Asura walked out of hell, and the powerful aura he exuded instantly crushed Xiaoya's pretense and pride.
"Mr. Chi..." Xiaoya's voice trembled a little, but she hugged the child tightly, as if she had grasped her only bargaining chip, and forced herself to remain calm, "You're here."
Chi Wenyan said nothing, but walked towards her with heavy steps. His eyes were like two icicles, fixed on the child in Xiaoya's arms, making sure that the child was safe.
His tense nerves relaxed a little, but the coldness in his eyes became even stronger.
He saw the small, sleeping figure in Xiaoya's arms, the precious treasure in his heart. This sight was like a basin of ice water, instantly extinguishing his urge to tear this woman apart.
The child was in her hands, and he had to remain calm.
"Give me the child." Chi Wenyan's voice was low and hoarse, suppressing his overwhelming anger.
Xiaoya heard the forbearance in his voice, and a perverse excitement welled up in her heart.
She knew that he was concerned about the children and did not dare to act rashly.
"No rush, President Chi." She took a step back with the child in her arms, a twisted smile on her face, "Let's talk first."
"What do you want to talk about?" Chi Wenyan clenched his fists tightly at his sides, his knuckles turning white. He controlled his emotions, not letting his voice betray even the slightest hint of cruelty.
"I want to talk, talk about our future." Xiaoya raised her head and looked directly into his eyes, her eyes filled with crazy persistence. "Mr. Chi, divorce Ji Wan. Marry me."
Upon hearing this, Chi Wenyan's pupils suddenly constricted, and an incredible rage instantly rushed to his head.
He never expected that this woman would make such a ridiculous request.
He looked at Xiaoya's face, which was distorted by ambition, and felt extremely disgusted.
"Say that again?" His voice sounded like it was squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying an extremely dangerous tone.
Xiaoya was frightened by the murderous intent in his eyes, but thinking of the child in her arms, she steeled herself and said, "I say, divorce Ji Wan and marry me! As long as you agree, I will return the child to you. From now on, I will be the child's mother, and our family of three will live happily together."
She became more and more excited as she spoke, as if she had already seen the scene.
There was a storm in Chi Wenyan's eyes. If it weren't for the innocent child in his arms, he would immediately let this woman know what it meant to live a life worse than death.
He took a deep breath, suppressed the murderous intent in his heart, and said in an almost calm tone: "Do you think it's possible?"
"Why not?" Xiaoya screamed, "Look at Ji Wan, she doesn't love you at all! She only has that man in her heart, only me, and I'm the only one who truly loves you! I gave birth to your children, I washed your clothes and cooked for you, I..."
"Shut up!" Chi Wenyan interrupted her harshly, his voice filled with terrifying power. "You are not qualified to mention her name. You are even less worthy of being the mother of my child."
Xiaoya's face instantly turned ferocious. "It's not up to you to decide whether I'm worthy or not. The child is in my hands. If I just let go..."
As she spoke, she actually pushed the child out.
"You dare!" Chi Wenyan shouted and took a step forward.
"Let me see if I dare." Xiaoya also risked her life. She knew this was her only chance. "Chi Wenyan, I'm giving you a choice! Either you agree to my request and we can live happily together from now on; or I will die with the child. Anyway, my life is already ruined, so the worst that can happen is that we die together."
There was a look of madness as if she was ready to die, and her arms around the child tightened even more.
Chi Wenyan stopped and stared at the child. He knew that this woman had gone completely crazy. He couldn't take any risks and couldn't joke with his son's life.
He slowly relaxed his tense body and tried to make his voice sound less oppressive: "Okay, I'll talk. What do you want? Except for the impossible."
Xiaoya was stunned. She didn't expect Chi Wenyan to compromise. She thought he would continue to be tough.
"No, I want this!" She immediately shook her head, her eyes determined and crazy. "I don't want money, I don't want anything else, I just want you! I want to be Mrs. Chi and the mother of my child."
Chi Wenyan looked at her, his eyes cold and without a trace of warmth: "Do you think that by kidnapping my son, you can get everything you want? You are too naive."
"You'll know if you're naive if you try!" Xiaoya held the child in her arms and pressed on. "Mr. Chi, my patience is limited. Will you choose or not?"
Chi Wenyan stood there, a powerful rage surging in his chest, threatening to consume him. He looked at that despicable woman, at the innocent son in her arms, and for the first time, felt an unprecedented sense of powerlessness. He couldn't act impulsively, couldn't anger her. His son's safety came first.
"Give me some time." Chi Wenyan's voice was very hoarse. "This kind of thing cannot be decided in a short time."
"No!" Xiaoya refused immediately, "I want your answer now! Chi Wenyan, you must make a decision now!"
Her eyes were full of paranoia and madness, as if she would do something terrible if Chi Wenyan didn't agree immediately.
Chi Wenyan's sharp eyes swept over her, and he saw the hesitation and fear in her eyes. She didn't really want to die, she just wanted to use the child to threaten him. But he couldn't take the risk.
He spoke slowly, each word coming out of an ice cellar, chilling to the bone: "Okay, I promise you."
Chi Wenyan's three words were like thunder, striking Xiaoya's heart.
She was stunned, her arms around the child subconsciously loosening a little, then suddenly tightening again. Her eyes were filled with ecstasy, yet mixed with a hint of disbelief and vigilance: "Are you serious? Are you really going to promise me?"
She stared at Chi Wenyan's eyes, trying to find even the slightest hint of perfunctoriness or deception in them.
Chi Wenyan's face looked even colder in the dim light, without any expression, except for those bottomless black eyes, staring intently at the child in her arms.
"Let the child go." He spoke again, his voice still hoarse, but with an unquestionable command.
Xiaoya's heart was beating like a drum, and the huge joy almost made her lose her mind, but her remaining rationality prevented her from giving up her last chip immediately.
