Chapter 50 Preview: Intimate Weekend - I Want to Do This with You
"Move your bedtime earlier."
Hearing these undisguised private words, Zhou Jinqin's cheeks instantly flushed red. She pushed the man away in shame and anger, threw off the covers and tried to escape, but Liang Minghe pulled her into his arms.
He lifted the person to the ground, chuckling as he asked, "Didn't you say it hurt? Why are you making such a fuss?"
Fortunately, Liang Ming had tried his best to control himself yesterday, so it was just a dull ache, and his muscles were only swollen and sore. However, the feeling of a foreign object invading him was still strong, as if all the experiences of last night were engraved on a pillar of shame, constantly reminding Zhou Jinqin that she could not forget them.
Perhaps it was the sunlight streaming in, but Zhou Jinqin felt a bit hotter. She looked down at the floor with her flushed eyes and muttered indignantly, "You barely ate or slept yesterday, how can you get up so early..."
“I really wanted to sleep with you until dawn, but I was feeling really unwell at the time. In your professional terms, it was probably because of NPT, which, if I remember correctly, stands for Nocturnal Penile Tumescence.” Liang Minghe’s voice was soft, accompanied by a light laugh, his standard British accent sounding lazy and dreamy.
NPT, or nocturnal penile erection, is commonly known as morning erection...
“You…” Zhou Jinqin pursed her already pale lips, staring with her watery eyes, unable to utter another word.
Liang Minghe touched her burning face and smiled innocently: "Oh baby, didn't you ask me that?"
Indeed, he was simply answering her question truthfully, and in the most tactful way possible, but unfortunately, he was standing in front of a knowledgeable professional.
Zhou Jinqin was speechless for a long time before finally managing to utter a resentful sentence: "Didn't you do it, cough cough... three times last night?"
"A lot?" Liang Minghe tapped her eyes and chuckled sweetly. "You were crying so hard back then, it was so heartbreaking, that's why..."
His words were brief, but enough to spark the imagination.
The long battlefront was exhausting just to think about. Zhou Jinqin shook her head, trying to shake off those unpleasant thoughts. She gave a soft snort and said reproachfully, "Anyway, you're always right. I'm not talking to you anymore."
Liang Ming let her break free from his embrace, leaned against the wall and stared at her slender and lovely back. He couldn't help but smile again as he thought of the night before dawn.
Zhou Jinqin rubbed her flushed face, forced herself to remain calm, and walked towards the wardrobe to choose what to wear today: a casual shirt paired with a long A-line skirt, which should be able to barely cover up the marks on her body that hadn't completely faded.
Obviously, this idea is too optimistic. Whether Zhou Jinqin buttoned the top button of her shirt or not, the hickey on the side of her neck could not be completely covered up.
After several failed attempts, she angrily complained to Liang Minghe, who was still laughing and showed no shame. Instead, he casually unbuttoned a button for her.
Shocked, Zhou Jinqin reached out to grab his restless hand and anxiously called out, "What are you doing in broad daylight?"
"What do you think I'm going to do?" Liang Minghe shamelessly pulled her hand to his lips and kissed it, then reached up and tucked a cloud-shaped hair clip into her collar. He raised an eyebrow and admired it. "See, isn't this much better?"
It's much better now. The cloud pattern perfectly covers the red mark and adds a fresh and soft visual effect to the otherwise plain clothes.
Zhou Jinqin nodded awkwardly in acknowledgment, but couldn't help asking worriedly, "What if they still see us?"
Liang Minghe came up with a crooked idea: "Let's just say it was our cat that bit us."
"Are you a cat?" Zhou Jinqin glared at him.
“Of course, a kitten’s father is a cat,” Liang Minghe said with a smile. “Besides, I was born in the Year of the Cat, so please acknowledge my true nature.”
The topic of zodiac signs is always a source of amusement. Liang Minghe has a eccentric, half-baked relative who, after learning that Liang Minghe was getting married, insisted on getting the couple's birth dates and times to calculate whether their marriage was suitable.
This relative, lacking social skills, openly stated in the family group chat that the two were incompatible according to their birth charts and clashed in their personalities, even though they knew the two were already married, and advised them to divorce as soon as possible so as not to delay each other.
Liang Ming was furious. He tried to insult the other person in the group chat with his microphone on, but to completely shut the other person up, he publicly announced that he had changed his zodiac sign to a cat. During this time, he even found a professionally trained sorcerer to perform a ritual, making it impossible for anyone to calculate his life trajectory outside of the twelve zodiac signs.
Zhou Jinqin was amused and finally relaxed. She smiled and teased him, "Alright, Mr. Cat, your wife should go to work to earn cat treats. Please see her off."
Liang Minghe kissed her lips: "Let's set off immediately, my dear Mrs. Cat."
Liang Minghe woke up earlier than Zhou Jinqin had expected. While she was fast asleep, he had already finished several trivial tasks, such as swimming, feeding the cat, buying breakfast at the convenience store, washing fruit, and packing it into boxes.
Zhou Jinqin stuffed the last piece of the sandwich into her mouth and, with her words slurred, instructed Liang Minghe to take her to the intersection in front of the company.
There was a precedent for this. When Xiang Ziqing picked her up in a Maserati before, many of her colleagues secretly inquired about her family situation the next day. She didn't want such trouble to happen again.
Liang Minghe didn't raise any objections, but he casually mentioned, "Remember to tell that male colleague you're married."
"Isn't that strange?" Zhou Jinqin suddenly thought of those eccentric teachers at school who would inexplicably start talking about their husbands in America and their children in Europe during a perfectly good class. But who asked them anything?
"Jealous again?" She picked up a grape and stuffed it into Liang Minghe's mouth. "I'm not exactly a likable person. I don't think he has any feelings for me at all. You're the only one who treats me like a treasure."
Liang Minghe crushed the grape: "It's not 'when,' it's 'you.'"
"You're teasing me again!" Zhou Jinqin scolded him, her face flushed. "I'm not saying anything more, I have to go."
"Mm." Liang Minghe nodded, took her hand and kissed it. "By the way, I've decided, I'll spend my birthday at Liang Zongqiang's place."
They just agreed like that? Was it to avoid putting her in a difficult position? Zhou Jinqin hadn't even figured out how things had developed to this point when she sat down at her workstation.
"It's rare to see you come so late." Jia Yang placed a document on her desk.
Zhou Jinqin said apologetically, "I missed my alarm, but luckily I wasn't late."
Jia Yang glanced at her, then quickly looked away, his ears turning red. He asked awkwardly, "Um... what happened to your neck?"
Zhou Jinqin was startled to find out that someone had actually noticed her. She looked down and realized that she had messed up her collar when she put her bag on...
She said awkwardly, "Hehe... It was the cat at home who did it. He's been a bit naughty lately."
Whether the other person believed it or not, Jia Yang tactfully didn't press the matter further, only reminding her to apply the medicine before moving on from the topic.
"By the way, the guitar has been found. If you want it, I can bring it to you in the next couple of days." Jia Yang showed her the photos on his phone.
"Yes, yes, that's great! Thank you so much, it must have taken a lot of effort!" Zhou Jinqin said gratefully.
Previously, Zhou Jinqin saw an old, broken guitar in her grandfather's storage room. It was said to have been given to her by Liang Minghe's mother and had a deep meaning. Zhou Jinqin immediately decided to buy the same model as a birthday gift for Liang Minghe. However, this guitar was at least a decade old and was really hard to find. Desperate, Zhou Jinqin had no choice but to ask Jia Yang, who was in a band, for help.
Jia Yang shook his head: "It's alright. Actually, I'm not very familiar with musical instruments either. I had to ask my partner in the team to help me find one."
His family situation was not good, so he had no opportunity to learn a musical instrument. It was purely coincidental that he was able to join the band.
Back when he was still a student, Jia Yang took a cleaning job at xlive house to help support his family. Since the events were usually held on weekend evenings, it was perfect for someone like him who was busy with his studies.
One day, while he was cleaning up before a performance, less than half an hour before the show started, the drummer in the band suddenly had an acute allergic reaction and was sent to the hospital. The band couldn't find a replacement for the time being, but they still needed to ensure the integrity of the performance. So they found Jia Yang, who was outstanding in appearance, to help out.
Jia Yang knew nothing about musical instruments and naturally refused, but the band members persisted, telling him that all he had to do was tap the drum occasionally, following the prompts in his in-ear monitor. Jia Yang was really short of money at the time, so he reluctantly agreed. That performance was basically a charade, but it was this coincidence that led him to make a group of band friends and helped him find one of life's greatest joys.
“Don’t say that. If you hadn’t acted as a middleman, I wouldn’t have been able to contact your teammates for help,” Zhou Jinqin said. “Would it be inappropriate for me to treat you to a meal? He doesn’t even know me.”
“No need, he gets a commission for helping with orders.” Jia Yang shook his head. “As for me, there’s really no need to be so polite. You know… I’m very grateful to you.”
Zhou Jinqin knew she couldn't persuade him, so she simply stopped mentioning it and earnestly told him, "Then just let me know if there's anything you need me to do in the future."
Jia Yang nodded, hesitated for a long time, and finally decided to speak: "Um... if it's okay, could I take your meal card again?"
He regretted it the very day he took out his meal card to return it to her.
Zhou Jinqin was somewhat surprised: "I don't need this, but..."
She tried to come up with a reasonable explanation: "You're trying to use it to encourage yourself, right?"
"Well... sort of. I want to remember everyone and everything that has helped me, so I bought a special box to store them." Jia Yang looked away somewhat embarrassedly. "If it's inconvenient, that's fine. I was just saying, don't mind me."
“It’s not inconvenient…” Zhou Jinqin thought that this might be a form of self-encouragement for him, just like some people like to collect stamps and some people like to collect paper bags. Jia Yang might just want to commemorate his hard days in the past with objects. She thought about it and nodded in agreement, “I’ll go back and look for it, and I’ll give it to you tomorrow.”
"It must have been shelved along with the band's unfinished business," Zhou Jinqin recalled.
When you're looking for someone, you absolutely have to avoid Liang Minghe, otherwise this jealous guy will definitely start to get angry again.
While Liang Minghe was taking a shower, Zhou Jinqin looked through all the documents one by one, but none of them contained the meal card.
Did you throw it in the trash with the roses? Or did you leave it in the car?
If it's the latter, what reason could she give to get Liang Minghe's car keys? And she absolutely cannot let him go into the car with her, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable.
After much deliberation, Zhou Jinqin finally knocked on the study door.
"Xiao He... could I have the car keys?"
Liang Minghe looked up at her: "What's wrong? Where are you going so late at night?"
Zhou Jinqin shook her head, her voice lacking confidence, "No, something just fell out, and I wanted to check if it was left in the car..."
Liang Minghe stood up, looking at her with a half-smile: "Is this what you're looking for?"
The meal card he was looking for was now in his hand, the black card strap casually wrapped around his long, slender, fair fingers, exuding an inexplicable air of restraint.
He stared at her and asked, "What are you going to do with it?"
Zhou Jinqin hesitated for a moment, but still told the truth.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment before Liang Minghe suddenly asked her, "So? You're going to give it to him?"
“Hmm, it doesn’t seem like a big deal…” Zhou Jinqin nodded honestly, “But I’m going to cut out the photo, otherwise it feels a bit strange.”
Liang Minghe was suddenly amused by her. He picked her up and sat her on the height-adjustable desk, then pressed the lift switch to reduce the height difference between them.
Liang Minghe has big hands; he can hold the meal card with just his index and middle fingers. He placed the card on Zhou Jinqin's face and clicked his tongue lightly, "You really are as naive as ever."
"Are you angry again?" Zhou Jinqin asked him expectantly.
“Yes, let’s start a little fire.” Liang Minghe took the photo out of the card holder and put it into his published book, then casually tossed the rest of the kit on the table.
There was a strong smell of fire in the air. Zhou Jinqin moved nervously further into the table and asked tremblingly, "What are you going to do?"
"Don't worry, I promised you I wouldn't do it these next few days, and I won't." Liang Minghe moved closer to her until his legs hit the table and he couldn't go any further. He then rested his hands on the table and looked at her leisurely. "However, I've decided to give you a heads-up about our intimacy."
"What?" Zhou Jinqin looked at him blankly.
“I want to spend the weekend with you…” Liang Minghe grabbed her ankle and pulled her outwards, their bodies colliding. His voice was deep and sexy as he said, “Do this.”
