Chapter 96 Dizziness
The living room gradually quieted down, leaving only a warm and cozy atmosphere. Xie Shiyan returned with slightly unsteady steps after seeing off the last few guests.
He leaned against the doorframe, his deep gaze fixed on his wife as she bent over tidying things up. For months, their intimacy had been restricted due to her pregnancy and childbirth.
At this moment, looking at Jiang Yining's slender figure, which had recovered remarkably well after childbirth and was bathed in a soft glow under the afterglow of the setting sun, coupled with the catalysis of alcohol, a long-suppressed burning desire surged up instantly.
He strode over, reeking of alcohol, and pulled Jiang Yining into his arms without a word, his warm lips pressing down on hers with irresistible force.
"Mmm..." Jiang Yining was caught off guard by his sudden passionate kiss, but she quickly felt his intense longing and love. She was stunned for a moment, then relaxed and responded to him with a smile.
His kisses smelled of wine, were somewhat urgent, yet incredibly sincere.
"Wife..." Xie Shiyan gasped, his forehead pressed against hers, his voice hoarse, tinged with drunkenness and undisguised longing, "I've missed you so much... for months..."
Jiang Yining was amused by his childish grievance and straightforwardness, and a blush rose to her cheeks. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist, patting his strong back reassuringly, her voice gentle as water: "I missed you too. Sweetie, the children just fell asleep, and Mom and Dad are chatting downstairs."
She tilted her head back and gently kissed his stubble-covered chin. "Wait until tonight..."
This simple promise and tender kiss acted like a soothing balm, instantly calming Xie Shiyan's anxious heart. He tightened his arms contentedly, burying his face in the soft lemon scent of her neck, nuzzling her like a large dog, and murmured, "Mmm, tonight..."
After the full moon celebration, Jiang Yining didn't rush back to work. She knew that the twins needed their mother's company and care more in the first few months.
She stayed home contentedly, caring for her two little ones alongside Xie's mother, Jiang's mother, and four experienced nannies. She watched Yicheng and Yiyan grow day by day, from simply eating, sleeping, and crying to smiling at people, babbling "talks," and clumsily rolling over and grasping toys…
Xie Shiyan remained a workaholic, but he became incredibly punctual for leaving work. No matter how busy he was, he would rush home to play with the children for a while, or even just watch them.
He often volunteered to put the child to sleep at night, even though his methods might not be as skillful as those of a nanny, but his clumsy fatherly love was especially touching.
Mr. Xie and Mr. Jiang often came over to enjoy their grandchildren and the joys of family life. The villa was always filled with children's laughter, adults' playful chatter, and warm conversations.
When Yicheng and Yiyan were seven months old, they were healthy and their routines were relatively regular. Only two nannies were left, and with the help of the elders in the family, they were able to handle everything perfectly well.
Jiang Yining's ambition was rekindled. Looking at herself in the mirror, restored to her former self, even more charming than before, and feeling the undiminished passion for her career, she finally decided:
"Mom, Ayan, I'm going back to work next week."
Although Xie's mother and Jiang's mother were reluctant to let her go, they understood and supported her. Xie Shiyan also unconditionally supported any decision his wife made, simply holding her and whispering in her ear, "Okay. Remember not to overwork yourself, the children and I are waiting for you at home."
The next day, sunlight streamed through the huge French windows into the living room, which was covered with a soft carpet. Seven-month-old Yicheng was trying hard to crawl toward the brightly colored rattle not far away, while Yiyan was being amused by her grandmother and giggling.
Jiang Yining, dressed in a well-fitting business suit, stood in the entryway and took one last look back at the warm and inviting room.
Life flowed quietly like a stream, filled with both busyness and sweetness. Xie Shiyan and Jiang Yining each drove their own cars every day, working from nine to five, striving for their careers and creating a better future for Yicheng and Yiyan.
Jiang Yining watched her two children grow from toddlers to babbling children. The family was already busily discussing how to hold a grand first birthday party for the twins.
That evening, the setting sun painted the sky a warm orange hue. Jiang Yining finished a long day of meetings and walked out of the company, feeling a wave of fatigue wash over her, and her head felt a little dizzy.
The roads were incredibly congested during rush hour, so she was on high alert, carefully driving her Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly towards the Crown Villas area.
Finally turning onto the tree-lined avenue leading to her villa, the familiar carved gate was just ahead. Jiang Yining breathed a slight sigh of relief and was about to slow down and enter the driveway when suddenly everything went black, and a strong sense of dizziness gripped her instantly.
"Ah!" she exclaimed softly involuntarily, her feet seemingly stepping on the wrong pedal in her panic.
