Chapter 105 Bai Lingyu

After having breakfast at home, Gu Fan saw Jiang Yumeng off to her car.

"Senior, I'll come back in a couple of days."

Gu Fan smiled and nodded: "Okay."

Jiang Yumeng still felt a little reluctant to part with her senior, and pouted, looking somewhat aggrieved.

Seeing this, Gu Fan kissed the girl's lips: "Good girl, we'll see each other soon."

Jiang Yumeng nodded obediently, like a tamed kitten: "Okay, goodbye, senior."

After watching Jiang Yumeng's car leave the residential area, Gu Fan turned his gaze away and returned home.

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year, and it's not yet time to visit relatives. It's mostly family members going out to play.

Gu Fan had just returned home when he was berated by his friend Su Ke.

"Old Gu, come out and have some fun!"

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan did not refuse, replied briefly, and then packed up and left.

boom!

The roar of a motorcycle filled the air as Gu Fan left the residential area.

Gu Fan arrived at the agreed-upon location with Su Ke and saw that Su Ke was already waiting for him there. Su Ke was also there on a motorcycle.

Suk handed Gu Fan a cigarette and said with a smile, "Happy New Year!"

Gu Fan said irritably, "Testing cadres with just a cigarette? You wouldn't even be willing to give them a red envelope."

Su Ke knew that Gu Fan didn't smoke. He chuckled, put a cigarette in his mouth, lit it, and exhaled comfortably: "Hey, what's the point of having red envelopes at my age? I'm penniless..."

Before he could finish speaking, Gu Fan took out a red envelope and tossed it to him.

Suk caught it in disbelief: "Really? Godfather?!"

"Get lost! Take it or leave it!"

Suk quickly put on a fawning smile and happily put away the red envelope: "Tsk tsk, another pack of cigarettes."

Gu Fan walked to Su Ke's motorcycle, where a bag with drinks was hanging on it.

He casually picked up a bottle and started drinking: "Where are we going to have fun?"

Suk shrugged: "I don't know."

Gu Fan's face stiffened: "Then why did you call me out?"

Suk laughed and said, "We'll have to wait until you come out to discuss that!"

Gu Fan: ...

Suk suggested, "How about we go for a drive?"

It's been a long time since I've raced.

Gu Fan nodded. Since he was bored anyway, he hopped on the motorcycle and sped off through the city streets with Su Ke.

The wind caressed his face, bringing a slight coolness.

Gu Fan felt the thrill of speed. He hadn't raced in a long time. He had even participated in a race organized by fellow motorcyclists before and won second place.

The streets were still very lively on the first day of the Lunar New Year, with many cars. Once they reached the downtown area, they could hardly move an inch.

Passersby were also attracted by their motorcycles, casting curious and envious glances at them.

"Hey bro, can I add you on WeChat?"

While they were waiting at a traffic light, a Porsche pulled up beside them. A young woman was in the driver's seat, and she raised an eyebrow at Gu Fan.

Gu Fan glanced at her, then looked away, ignoring her.

It was Suk, the single guy, who started chatting with them.

As soon as the light turned green, Gu Fan accelerated, and the car sped off.

A moment later, on the steps of the plaza, Gu Fan and Su Ke clinked their drinks together.

"Old Gu, why didn't you bring your wife out to play?" Su Ke suddenly asked.

Gu Fan said calmly, "She went back."

"Wow, I'm so envious of you. You managed to find such a good-looking partner," Suk exclaimed.

He now knew how Gu Fan got his girlfriend—they met while playing games, and it was an online relationship, no less.

Are online dating partners really that high-quality?

It made him want to chat with someone he met online.

Gu Fan smiled and said, "Maybe this is fate."

Suk gave him a strange look, then suddenly remembered something and said, "By the way, didn't Xu Jie come looking for you?"

Gu Fan thought of his high school deskmate and shook his head: "No, we're strangers now. Why would she want to talk to me?"

Suk said, "That's true. She used to be afraid that others would misunderstand your relationship, but now it seems that this woman still likes you."

"It's too late. I'm a man she can't have," Gu Fan said calmly.

"6!"

After resting for a while, the two went their separate ways.

There are too many people on the first day of the Lunar New Year, so it's not fun.

The second day of the Lunar New Year.

Today, Gu Fan went with his parents to visit relatives, mainly his maternal grandmother's house.

Gu Fan's maternal grandparents are still alive, but they are both very old and have difficulty moving around. They live with his aunt's family.

My aunt's family runs a business, and their house is a self-built three-story building that looks like a small villa.

The Gu family brought New Year's gifts, which made them extremely happy.

Gu Fan's family and his aunt's family get along quite well. Although they don't usually have much contact, when they get together, it's as if they have endless things to talk about.

"Cousin, Happy New Year!"

Just then, a girl came down from the second floor. She was wearing pajamas and her hair was messy, as if she had just woken up.

Upon seeing Gu Fan sitting on the sofa, her eyes lit up, and she rushed over immediately.

Gu Fan was somewhat surprised to see her: "Xiaoyu?"

His aunt shares the same surname as his mother, and his aunt's daughter naturally takes her uncle's surname. His uncle's name is Bai Jun, and he is a retired soldier. The girl in front of him is named Bai Lingyu.

Bai Lingyu is fifteen years old and is still in the third year of junior high school.

She was quite familiar with Gu Fan. After all, Gu Fan had taken care of her like an older brother when they were young, and their relationship hadn't weakened even though they hadn't seen each other for a long time.

Seeing the girl's tired face, Gu Fan frowned: "Staying up all night again?"

Bai Lingyu smiled playfully.

The aunt complained from the side, "This girl usually goes to bed at two or three in the morning, and you can't say anything to her. The worst part is that your uncle protects her."

If you were to ask who her daughter fears the most, it would undoubtedly be Gu Fan.

Sure enough, upon hearing her mother complaining, Bai Lingyu immediately shrank back: "I didn't, I've been very good, okay?"

Gu Fan knew her personality all too well, and helplessly poked her forehead: "Girls shouldn't stay up late, it's bad for your health."

Bai Lingyu pouted: "Okay, okay, I know!"

Suddenly, her eyes darted around, and she smiled and reached out her hand: "Cousin, where's my red envelope?"

Gu Fan calmly pulled out a stack of red envelopes from his pocket and handed them to her, as if he had expected it.

Bai Lingyu's eyes lit up: "Hehe, thank you, cousin!"

Every year she would pester Gu Fan for red envelopes, and Gu Fan was never stingy with them.

The adults nearby smiled warmly at the sight.

"By the way, Xiaofan, you're twenty-two this year, right? When are you planning to find a girlfriend?" Auntie asked curiously.

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan, without waiting for his parents to speak, took the initiative to say, "Auntie, I already have a girlfriend."

Upon hearing this, the aunt and uncle were immediately shocked.

Bai Lingyu's face also froze, and she looked at Gu Fan in disbelief.
