Chapter 43 Visiting the Rooms

Chapter 43 Visiting the Rooms

"Show me around your room." As soon as his parents left, Chu Zhen revealed his true colors.

"You can't just barge into a girl's room like that!" I sat down next to Chu Zhen. "It's so sore, come on, give me a massage~"

I was so jealous of him. Even though he had to go through a lot of places to complete the discharge procedures, it was just a matter of walking a little more. As for me, I cleaned up the hospital and then continued working on it when I got back.

"Come back to City A with me when your parents return. You've looked quite haggard these past few days. I'll help you recover when we get back." Chu Zhen touched my face, his eyes full of tenderness. In the end, someone still cares about me, so it's not too heartbreaking.

"Show me your room!" Chu Zhen said, unwilling to give up.

"Since you've been behaving so well, I'll show you around, but it's quite different from your room."

I took Chu Zhen to my room. I hadn't lived there for a long time, but it was very tidy, which showed that my parents must take good care of it.

"The room looks quite like a girl's room!" Chu Zhen looked around after entering.

My room has a balcony, and my parents gave me the room with the best natural light in the house. There's a rocking chair on the balcony, and I especially love to curl up in it to read and listen to music. The bookshelf is filled with all the books I've read since I was a child. When other people graduate, they always exchange their books for money, but my parents have never sold a single one of my books. In their words, every book and every note is a memory of my hard work back then.

"Is this photo of you?"

"Hmm, isn't it breathtakingly beautiful?" This is a photo with my parents. My mom braided my hair so nicely that day that my dad immediately decided to take us to take a family photo. He said it was so rare for my mom to braid my hair so nicely, and we had to make a good record of it.

"She really is quite beautiful. It turns out she's been a beauty since she was little." Chu Zhen took out her phone and snapped a picture of the group photo.

"Chu Zhen, did you fall for me because of my looks?" Remembering what my mother had said before, I also began to wonder, what exactly did Chu Zhen like about me?

"Do I look like such a shallow person?" Chu Zhen sat on my bed and pulled me to his side.

"When I first saw you, I thought you were quite pleasing to the eye. But when I saw that your thesis said you were from the Department of Journalism and Communication at the Teachers College, I paid special attention to it. Later, when I went to deliver the USB drive to you, my mom chatted with me for a bit. She seemed quite satisfied with you. Your thesis could have passed on the first try, but she felt you could have done better, which is why she kept rejecting it." Chu Zhen continued, manipulating my hand.

"After that, I thought you were pretty funny, especially good at running. But when Cao Gang brought your resume to me, I thought, let's see how you run now."

"Lin Dang, have you noticed that we're quite destined to meet? You always try to avoid me, but we always seem to run into each other in different places."

"Who knows if you've been secretly following me? Isn't that what you're good at?"

“I really didn’t follow you. Did you just walk right into Dawn’s internship?” Chu Zhen leaned her head against me. “I just really disliked that Cao Gang. When he sent me your resume, I thought he was a nice guy. But then he kept coming to see you, and I got more and more annoyed. Now that I think about it, it was because he cared about you!”

“Cao Gang is my senior, and he’s been really good to us!” I explained, even though Cao Gang had indeed considered taking things further.

“You have a strong sense of justice in your bones, which is rare among girls these days. Many people think it’s better to avoid trouble, but you always rush forward. Do you know how anxious I was when you went to the fire? That was the first time I felt the fear of losing something. I didn’t even feel the loss of my family when my parents divorced, but that time you made me panic.” Chu Zhen buried her head in my chest.

"That's quite touching!" I patted Chu Zhen's hair. Although he was five years older than me, he acted like a child.

"And you? When did you fall for me?" Chu Zhen asked, looking up.

"When was that?" I thought for a moment, "It was probably when you first kissed me!"

"Did you decide to be with me because I kissed you?"

"More or less!"

"Lin Dang, aren't you being a bit too casual? Do you agree to date any man who kisses you?" Chu Zhen suddenly raised his head and questioned.

"No one can just kiss me like that. Besides, if someone is allowed to kiss me, it must be because I want to. Otherwise, I would have beaten them to death long ago!"

"How about we kiss now?" Chu Zhen looked at me with a wicked smile.

"No, I'm at home. My parents can come back anytime."

"Hurry up, just a small bite!"

"no!"

Just a tiny bite!

"You even haggle over kissing?!"

"Okay, then let's not haggle!" Chu Zhen said and sealed my lips with his. What was supposed to be a small kiss turned into countless kisses. Chu Zhen's kiss was very arousing, and I became intoxicated by it.

"Women really are all hypocrites~" Chu Zhen chuckled, having had his fill of the joke.

"Okay, you'll remember this~" I said, my face flushed. Chu Zhen was quite emotional when he was being sentimental, but he was also a master at ruining the atmosphere.

In the evening, Dad cooked a delicious meal, but this time Chu Zhen was the one helping out. I was kicked out of the kitchen as soon as I entered; in his eyes, my presence there was a disaster. However, I wasn't idle; I was being lectured by Mom, for example:

"How can a girl not know how to cook? Look at Chu Zhen, she's a city girl too, she can cook everything!"

"Young lady, don't be so lazy. You should know how to tidy up and clean the house. Look at the place you and Yan Yan live on, how can you even step out of the door?"

"When you visit someone's home, you have to be sweet-talking and helpful. You know your aunts and uncles, they all say Chu Zhen is a good guy~"

......

For the first time in over twenty years, I discovered my mother's nagging skills, but I understand that everything she says is for my future.

After dinner, my parents didn't ask us to stay. After all, I'd been at home the whole time, and Chu Zhen had been coming over every few days, which had interfered with my studies and work.

"Do you know what your dad said to me while we were cooking?"

Chu Zhen said in the car.

"They'll definitely say I'm stupid, that I can't learn to cook no matter how hard I try."

“Your dad says that girls are meant to be spoiled. He never lets you into the kitchen. First, there’s a lot of fumes, and second, if you’re not careful, oil will splatter everywhere. You have delicate skin, and you can’t afford to get burned.”

I didn't expect my dad to say that. It's true, I've never stepped into the kitchen in all these years, not even to wash dishes. I was actually quite moved by Chu Zhen's words. Although they always scold me, I understand that it's because they love me deeply.
