Chapter Twenty-Two (Second Update)

Chapter Twenty-Two (Second Update)

Before going home, Ye Yin cleaned up the car seats and floor mats in the parking lot and also formatted the car dashcam.

Yang Jiawen was already at home, having just finished showering and was drying her hair in the bathroom, making a buzzing sound.

Ye Yin first threw the dirty clothes from his luggage bag into the washing machine, then walked into the room and called out, "I'm back."

The buzzing stopped, and Yang Jiawen rushed out, opening her arms as if to throw herself at Ye Yin: "Husband, you're finally back!"

She was dressed lightly, in a tank top and shorts, and was applying rose-scented body lotion.

In the past, Ye Yin would usually hug her and say some lewd things, but this time was different. He resisted her approach with all his heart and suddenly raised his arm to block her: "Don't come any closer."

Yang Jiawen's eyes widened, somewhat frightened: "W-what's wrong?"

Ye Yin realized he had overreacted and quickly composed himself, saying with a wry smile, "I'm dirty and smelly. You just took a shower, so don't pick up the smell."

"Oh, you're reacting so strongly, you scared me to death..." Yang Jiawen smelled the cigarette and sweat on him and pretended to pinch her nose in disgust. "You really smell bad. Go take a shower and then drink some soup."

"Cicada."

Ye Yin casually tossed his almost empty duffel bag into the walk-in closet, grabbed a set of quick-drying clothes, and went to the bathroom.

After the door closed, Yang Jiawen went to the dressing room, opened Ye Yin's luggage bag, and found a toiletry bag inside. Yang Jiawen checked it and found nothing missing or extra.

She went to the kitchen, took a bowl, poured out the soup from the thermos, put it on the dining table, and then went to the washing machine to take out Ye Yin's dirty clothes.

Except for one set which had almost no smell, the other pieces didn't smell very good and even had a fishy smell.

But not smelling any unfamiliar perfume scent, Yang Jiawen felt slightly relieved.

When Yang's mother heard that Ye Yin had gone out alone again, she frowned and reminded her daughter to be more careful.

My mother said that although Ye Yin was not a big boss, she had watched him grow up and knew him well. But a man in the business world can't avoid getting involved in any affairs. She told her to accompany Ye Yin when she had time, so that she could keep away many women.

Yang Jiawen had once traveled a long distance with Ye Yin and found the environment of the port fishing village unpleasant. The conditions were rudimentary, the villagers were uncouth, and the fish market only opened in the early morning, which was both fishy and noisy.

So she found it troublesome to go with her every time.

Yang Jiawen confidently told her mother that Ye Yin was very well-behaved and would tell her where he went every time.

Yang's mother said she was carefree, and the topic quickly shifted to "marriage." Yang's mother asked the young couple if they had discussed this matter, since Ye Yin was getting on in years.

Yang Jiawen made up some excuse to brush it off.

She knew that Ye Yin had plans to propose.

Yang Jiawen didn't ask about the specifics of the preparations, but she didn't actually plan to get married so soon. She wanted to go abroad to study for another year or two.

Furthermore, if she marries Ye Yin, she will definitely have to prepare to have a child soon after marriage, which is not in her life plan.

Ye Yin is indeed a suitable marriage partner, but their worlds don't really intersect.

In Yang Jiawen's circle, the schools they attend, the countries they study abroad in, and the companies they work for are the everyday topics of conversation, rather than "how much does a pound of ten-year-old fish maw cost."

Yang Jiawen stuffed the clothes back into the washing machine, thinking about how to tell Ye Yin not to mention marriage yet.

Ye Yin took a quick shower. When he came out, he saw the soup bowl on the table. Yang Jiawen told him to drink it quickly because it was getting cold.

A layer of semi-solidified oil floated on the slightly cool soup. Ye Yin felt a bit nauseous, but couldn't refuse. He gulped it down in two large mouthfuls, as if he were drinking Chinese medicine.

In that instant, he recalled the sandwich Tengzhi had made; it was half-cold, yet he ate it with great relish.

Yang Jiawen found a movie and asked Ye Yin to watch it with her in the living room. Ye Yin was tired, and the artistic and romantic content of the movie made him even more drowsy.

When the movie reached a touching and emotional moment, Yang Jiawen was deeply moved when suddenly a jarring snoring sound came from beside her. Looking down, she saw that Ye Yin had already fallen asleep with his head tilted back, ruining all the romantic atmosphere.

Yang Jiawen sighed helplessly, poked her boyfriend's head with her index finger, and muttered as she picked up her phone.

First, open Alipay, find Li Tiancheng's account, and send him a message asking, "Brother, what are you doing?"

She didn't get a reply, so she opened Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) and found another person she was having an ambiguous relationship with in another city, asking the same question.

Nowadays, there are countless social media platforms; you don't necessarily need WeChat or QQ to flirt.

Everyone seemed busy tonight; no one replied to her messages, and she wasn't in the mood to watch a movie anymore, so she listlessly scrolled through her WeChat Moments.

Suddenly, Yang Jiawen came across a post on WeChat Moments that Ye Yin's older sister had made fifteen minutes earlier.

Yezi posted a nine-grid photo collage, all pictures of dishes. She said it was a friend's newly opened restaurant, and a group of old friends came to support it tonight. Everyone had a great time chatting and was even planning to move on to a quiet bar for the next round.

Yang Jiawen's pupils trembled as she looked incredulously at Ye Yin, who was fast asleep.

Ye Zi isn't home tonight, so where did Ye Yin go?

Her boyfriend's phone was on the low table. Yang Jiawen bit her lip and, without much thought, quietly picked it up.

During their passionate romance, they set their phone passwords to a combination of their birthdates: Ye Yin's 919 plus her 118.

Yang Jiawen entered the password, which immediately displayed an incorrect password message. She frowned and entered it again, but it was still incorrect.

Then she entered Ye Yin's birthday and her own birthday, but they were still incorrect.

Yang Jiawen got angry and immediately concluded that Ye Yin was definitely up to something.

She knelt on the sofa, trying to hold the phone in front of Ye Yin's face to see if she could unlock it with facial recognition.

But keeping his eyes closed was definitely not an option. Yang Jiawen became increasingly annoyed and was about to wake Ye Yin when suddenly, Ye Yin abruptly opened his eyes!

Caught off guard, Yang Jiawen's heart leaped into her throat. She tried to put her phone away guiltily, but Ye Yin grabbed her wrist.

Ye Yin was quite strong; Yang Jiawen was in so much pain that she couldn't hold her phone and cried out, "It hurts!"

Ye Yin slowly relaxed, as if only now recognizing who was in front of him, and frowned as he asked, "What were you doing just now?"

Yang Jiawen rubbed her wrist, not answering his question, but instead her voice became aggrieved as she accused Ye Yin of "infidelity": "When did you change your phone password? It's not using our birthdays anymore..."

Ye Yin narrowed his eyes, his long, narrow pupils looking at me: "You want to see my phone?"

"I...I..." Yang Jiawen's eyes darted around, and she looked even more aggrieved. "You've been so cold to me lately, so that's why..."

Although what Yang Jiawen said was true, Ye Yin still found it funny that she had turned the tables on him.

He bent down, picked up his phone, and typed "118919" in front of Yang Jiawen.

"I did change the password, but I changed the location. My previous password was seen by a shop assistant, so I changed it."

Ye Yin, mimicking Yang Jiawen's actions, handed her his phone. "If you don't trust me, just say so. Which app's chat history do you want to see? WeChat? QQ?"

A mocking smile played on his lips, but his voice grew colder as he turned the tables: "Alipay? Xiaohongshu? NetEase Cloud Music? There are so many apps these days, you don't have to use WeChat or QQ to flirt. Why don't you take a closer look?"

On TV, the male and female protagonists cross a busy road and embrace passionately under a streetlamp. However, off TV, the male and female protagonists feel awkward, as if there is an ice wall between them, even though they are very close.

Ye Yin shoved his phone into Yang Jiawen's hand and at the same time retrieved Yang Jiawen's phone from the single sofa.

Press the button, and the phone screen lights up, showing a notification from Xiaohongshu. Although the content of the message is not visible, the profile picture shows a boy.

Ye Yin tapped his finger twice and smiled slyly: "Yang Jiawen, I'm completely innocent. What about you? Have you changed your phone password?"
