Chapter 33: Still a Madman

Chapter 33: Still a Madman

The two sat down by the fire.

The clothes hanging on the wooden sticks had been dried, and Jiang Fei wanted to continue tearing strips of cloth from Pei Jing's outer robe.

But those eyes were staring at him like a shadow, so he had to turn his hand and tear off a piece from his dried coat.

There are no conditions here, so we can only stop the bleeding first.

Jiang Fei pulled Pei Jing's hand and was about to wrap the cloth around his hand, but Pei Jing suddenly pulled his hand back and looked at her with a strange expression.

"Is this how you plan to bandage my wound?"

This is too perfunctory.

Jiang Fei held the strip of cloth with an innocent look on her face, "What else?"

With such poor conditions, can he still be given a rabies vaccine?

Pei Jing glanced at her arm, where it was wrapped with a black cloth, the same color as his outer robe. It was impossible to tell whether it was soaked in blood or not.

"Could it be... that you bandaged your own arm like this?"

Jiang Fei didn't say anything, but her expression had already given him the answer.

Pei Jing glanced at the leather bag on the ground. "You took my things, but you only know how to use a tinderbox?"

There were indeed two bottles of medicine in the leather bag, but there was no name written on them. How could Jiang Fei know whether there was poison inside?

Pei Jing raised his chin and motioned her to pick it up. Jiang Fei picked up the leather bag and saw Pei Jing pinching his hand and squeezing it hard. Suddenly, more blood came out of the wound on the back of his hand and dripped into the mud along his fingers.

Is this guy a masochist?

"Give it to me."

"Oh." Jiang Fei obediently handed over the bag.

Pei Jing opened the leather bag, took out one of the porcelain bottles, opened the lid with his thumb, shook out some light blue powder and sprinkled it on the back of his injured hand.

I don't know what miraculous effect the medicine had, but after the powder was sprinkled on, the blood miraculously coagulated. Pei Jing handed his hand over again, and Jiang Fei obediently wrapped the cloth around it.

After the bandage was completed, Jiang Fei was about to withdraw her hand, but Pei Jing grabbed her wrist. His fingertips were cold, but with a force that made it impossible to break free.

His eyes fell on the wound on her arm and he said, "Untie it."

Jiang Fei would not be hard on her body, and slowly untied the clothes with trembling hands.

Before, I was only concerned about saving my life and had no energy to distract myself with other things. Now that my life is saved, the pain in my body has started to sweep over me.

She moved too slowly, and Pei Jing became impatient, so he grabbed her hand and tore off the remaining black cloth.

He was stunned when he saw this.

There were several hideous wounds on his arms, with bloody wounds and flesh rolled up, and the edges had begun to turn faintly blue.

"You are quite patient." Pei Jing glanced at her.

Jiang Fei wasn't sure whether he was praising her or insulting her, so she naturally didn't know how to respond and tentatively pulled her hand back a little.

Pei Jing's hand suddenly tightened, and with his other hand he grabbed her shoulders and lifted her up.

"What are you going to do?" Jiang Fei's voice was panicked as she was dragged out by Pei Jing.

She has seen this person turn against her will many times. Would he throw her out to feed the wolves?

The rain had not stopped yet, and the rain continued to roll down the edge of the stone wall, hanging several dark curtains in the dim light.

Pei Jing dragged Jiang Fei to the edge of the crevice, grabbed her arm and stretched it forward.

Jiang Fei stepped back nervously.

"Don't move!" Pei Jing said coldly, "How dare you bandage it carelessly before the wolf poison has cleared up? Do you think your life is too long?"

Jiang Fei tried to shrink back, "What are you doing? It will hurt like hell if the rain falls on me!"

Pei Jing sneered, "You still feel pain. I thought you were only afraid of death, not pain."

"But you didn't wash away the rain either." Jiang Fei wanted to step back, but her back was pressed against Pei Jing's chest.

"I'll use blood to rinse your wound. If I use blood to rinse your wound, I'm afraid you'll be dead before it's completely washed away."

Pei Jing's hand was like an iron clamp, grabbing Jiang Fei's arm and stretching it forward.

The rain flowed down the edge of the crack in the stone, washed over the wound, and instantly caused a sharp pain.

Jiang Fei gasped in pain and struggled instinctively, "Hiss—No, I won't go anymore!"

Pei Jing remained unmoved, holding her tightly, and said coldly, "Be patient. If the wolf poison is not completely cleared, you can forget about this hand."

The rain meandered down his arms, mixed with dark red blood and dripped onto the ground.

The feeling was like thousands of red-hot needles piercing into the skin at the same time. Jiang Fei's fingertips trembled in pain, and she bit her lower lip tightly, with beads of sweat oozing out of her forehead.

Pei Jing suddenly pinched her chin and said, "Let go!"

Jiang Fei was forced to open her mouth, and the tips of her teeth had already bitten a row of bloody marks on her lower lip.

Under the rain, the bruises and blue-black spots on the wound gradually faded away, revealing the original bright red flesh.

Pei Jing stared at her arm, and after making sure it was almost rinsed, he released his grip and dragged her back to the fire.

Jiang Fei was exhausted and fell to the ground. Her lips were pale and her hair was wet and stuck to her face. She looked in a miserable state.

The moment the powder touched the wound, a burning pain suddenly hit Jiang Fei. She was in so much pain that she lost consciousness and a muffled groan came out of her throat.

Pei Jing glanced at her and said indifferently, "Do you feel the pain now? Isn't it very brave to kill a wolf alone?"

Jiang Fei's eyes turned red with pain, and she glared at him fiercely when she heard that.

Pei Jing pretended to be cruel, "If you glare at me again, I'll dig your eyes out!"

Jiang Fei turned her face away, stared at the fire and ignored everyone.

Her wound was so big that the whole bottle of powder was poured out.

Pei Jing said, "This medicine costs one thousand taels a bottle. If I use some, I'll give you eight hundred taels. Return it to me."

"I don't have that much money." Jiang Fei said.

"So how many do you have?"

Jiang Fei calculated and whispered, "I only have a little over a hundred taels of private money."

Pei Jing glanced up at her and said, "Is the Jiang family so poor? A legitimate daughter can only come up with a little over a hundred taels. It's a bit too shabby."

Jiang Fei pursed her lips and thought to herself, this is what I saved up with great difficulty. The original owner couldn't even take out five taels of silver.

Pei Jing threw away the empty porcelain bottle, took out another celadon bottle from his leather bag, and picked out some dark red ointment.

Jiang Fei stared at the medicine warily. She had never seen Pei Jing use it on himself before. "What is this?"

"Heart-breaking Powder." Pei Jing remained calm. "The kind that kills instantly."

"Then apply less." Jiang Fei was actually afraid of the pain. "It's too expensive. I can't afford it."

Pei Jing glanced at her and then lowered his head. "Don't scream even if it hurts, or I'll pull out your tongue."

Jiang Fei stiffened her back, expecting excruciating pain. However, the ointment this time was cooling, instantly relieving the burning pain, and her tense shoulders and back finally relaxed.

"The wolf's saliva is poisonous, so the blood clots need to be dispersed first." He dipped his fingertips in the ointment and applied it to the wound, his movements surprisingly gentle.

He lowered his head slightly, his outline looked particularly sharp under the firelight, and there was still a distant coldness between his eyebrows.

Pei Jing seemed to have eyes on his head. Without even looking up, he asked, "What are you looking at?"

Jiang Fei blinked and said, "I didn't see anything."

She really couldn't understand the man in front of her. She could see his slightly furrowed brow and focused eyes. He was completely different from the madman who wanted to strangle her before.

"Why don't you feel any pain?"

Pei Jing paused, raised his eyes and gave her a wicked smile, "I like pain."

Jiang Fei: “…”

Well, he is still crazy after all.
