Chapter 35 Baby, can I touch you...?
Given that Wen Ling came here secretly this time.
Wen Zan gave her a night to calm down, and then early the next morning, she came to the hospital and called Wen Ling out to give her a lecture.
She lowered her head, bowing her head in apology: "Big brother, I know I was wrong."
Wen Zan glanced at her, her eyebrows twitching slightly: "What's wrong with your mouth?"
"Nothing much—" Wen Ling asked in confusion. Suddenly remembering something, she quickly raised her hand to cover her lips, looking at Wen Zan's ashen face with a guilty expression.
It's all Shang Chen's fault. He was like a demon last night, biting her whenever he had the chance, and she couldn't defend herself at all.
"elder brother…"
Wen Zan closed his eyes, unable to move.
If he didn't know that Shang Chen genuinely wanted to be with Wen Ling, he probably would have rushed into the ward and punched him a couple more times.
Wen Zan sighed softly, patted her head, and smiled as she watched her younger sister grow up. "Lingling, be happy."
Wen Ling was easily moved to tears; just those few words brought tears to her eyes: "I know."
Wen Zan reached out and wiped away her tears with his fingertips, then pulled her into his arms and hugged her gently: "If you've been wronged, tell your family right away."
"Don't be so impulsive in the future, it makes them worry."
Wen Ling nodded obediently.
Wen Zan concluded by saying, "Take care of yourself, understand?"
Wen Ling gave a muffled "Mmm": "Big brother, I know."
Wen Zan felt that she did not understand what she was saying.
Oh well, let nature take its course.
Wen Ling returned to the ward dejectedly.
Shang Chen stood at the door, having been ordered not to follow her out, so he craned his neck to look outside. Finally, he caught sight of her. Seeing her like this, he thought she was upset because she had been scolded, so he quickly hugged her to comfort her and closed the door.
Did your older brother yell at you?
Wen Ling rested her head against Shang Chen's chest and shook her head.
Shang Chen breathed a sigh of relief: "Then why do you still look unhappy?"
Wen Ling raised her head again, tilted her neck to look at him, and pouted: "I suddenly feel that I'm very disobedient and have made them worry."
"It's my fault." Shang Chen smoothed her slightly messy hair. "I'm the one who made you so flustered. I'll come to apologize to you after I'm discharged from the hospital, okay?"
"It's not your fault." Wen Ling slumped into his arms, finding the most familiar way to hug him. "It's my own fault for not telling them."
Wen Ling was still somewhat sad.
Wen Zan told her that yesterday, when her grandparents found out that she had run away from home, they were so frightened that they almost fainted. If she hadn't known to send a message to Wen He, the two elderly people would probably have been hospitalized.
To avoid being disturbed, she even turned off her phone.
As soon as I turned on my phone after charging it in the morning, it was flooded with calls from family members. My parents were so worried that they didn't sleep well all night. As soon as Wen Ling dialed the number, they answered immediately.
There was no blame; I just told her to be careful when she was out, take good care of herself, and not to lose contact.
Wen Ling agreed to all of them.
My nose feels sore.
The ancients were right: impulsiveness is the devil.
She should talk to her family properly before going out next time.
…
A week later, Shang Chen was discharged from the hospital.
The matter concerning Ge Qingqing has been mostly resolved. It was Song Yinxue who helped with the cleanup. With the evidence she provided, which alerted the higher-ups, Ge Qingqing is probably no longer able to cause trouble.
So, the first thing Shang Chen did after being discharged from the hospital was to buy a lot of gifts and prepare to go to the Wen family to apologize.
The night before she left, Wen Ling was still a little worried: "Are we really going? Isn't it too early?"
"What are you thinking?" Shang Chen gently rubbed her soft earlobe. "I went to apologize. What did you think I was going there for? To bring betrothal gifts?"
Wen Ling blushed at his teasing and slapped his hand away, saying, "What nonsense are you talking about now?"
He paused for a moment, then said, "Just... just to be kind, but you shouldn't be so easy to get into my house."
"Hmm...or else," Shang Chen raised an eyebrow, his hand somehow moving to her slender waist, "Lingling, could you do me a favor and teach me some tricks to avoid getting beaten up by your brother-in-law?"
Wen Ling's waist is a sensitive area.
As he caressed her like that, her whole body went limp instantly. Realizing that she was in a dangerous situation, Wen Ling pushed against his strong arm and said, "You...you'd better pray for yourself."
She struggled to break free and tried to run back to her room, but her legs gave way and she knelt on the soft carpet. Shang Chen chuckled softly behind her, pulled her back with his arm, and sat her on his lap, whispering in her ear, "Why are you running?"
Wen Ling only realized then that being in love wasn't as wonderful as she had imagined. Just dealing with Shang Chen's countless kisses was already exhausting for her. Sometimes, Shang Chen couldn't help but go a little too far, and she, having never experienced anything like it, would be terrified and cry.
"Why are you crying?" Shang Chen was anything but considerate at this moment.
Wen Ling sobbed softly, "This... feels so strange."
Shang Chen pretended to be cold and hard, but seeing her aggrieved look, he couldn't keep up the act and could only swallow his pride and say, "Okay, I won't do it again next time."
Although I won't suddenly put my hand inside my clothes anymore.
But Wen Ling could still sense that he was gradually testing her limits. For example, right now, they were hugging each other almost at zero distance. Wen Ling was being held by the back of her head, enduring his extremely aggressive kiss. His other hand was pressing on Wen Ling's thigh, leaving her with nowhere to retreat.
I don't know how much time has passed.
Wen Ling was released by him, and Shang Chen's fingertips wandered around her waistline again, nose to nose, rubbing intimately. Shang Chen's voice was husky and sexy: "Baby, can I touch you?"
Wen Ling was already out of her mind from being kissed so much.
But instinctively, she couldn't forget that strange feeling and subconsciously said, "No, no, Shang Chen, I'm scared."
"Okay, I won't touch it anymore." Shang Chen hugged her tightly. "Don't be afraid of me."
Perhaps because she had been rejected too many times, Wen Ling herself felt that this was not good. She longed for a closer relationship with Shang Chen, but she couldn't overcome her inner struggles and wasn't used to it.
Her forehead was covered in a fine layer of sweat, and her palms were already sticky from his grip. Wen Ling breathed softly as she grabbed his large hand and said in a soft voice, "Just... just for a moment."
Shang Chen: "..."
What happened next was beyond our control.
When Shang Chen carried her to the bathroom to wash her hands, Wen Ling was still dazed. She was placed on the clean sink, her eyes vacant, letting Shang Chen take care of her.
"Are you stunned?" Shang Chen braced himself on the sink, trapping her in his arms. He reached out and touched her face. "You look so dazed, so cute."
Wen Ling's hands were stiff and she didn't know how to move them. When she came to her senses, her eyes were red. She glared at him and kicked his leg: "You're bullying me again."
Shang Chen chuckled softly, not even flinching, his eyes full of refreshing joy, and kissed her red lips: "Baby, please understand, young and vigorous men are like this."
As he spoke, he lifted his shirt, revealing his well-defined eight-pack abs, and raised an eyebrow: "Doesn't baby want my body?"
"..."
Wen Ling blushed and looked away, once again gaining a clear understanding of his kindness and lust.
…
The fact that Shang Chen was coming to their door attracted a lot of attention from the Wen family.
Even though she hadn't been dating Wen Ling for very long, the elders in the Wen family seemed to have already assumed that they would stay together and get married.
Apart from a few elders who were too busy to attend to other matters.
Wen Ling's generation, including Wen Zan and her four older brothers, all came back to see their legendary 'brother-in-law'.
Everyone in the Wen family was busy preparing for this meeting, except for Wen He, who remained glued to his room playing video games and wouldn't open the door to let the housekeeper in to tidy up.
His mother pounded on the door loudly: "Wen He, get out here right now!"
"What is it?" Wen He said impatiently. "I'm very busy, don't bother me."
"What are you busy with? You're busy playing your stupid game. Hurry up and open the door so the auntie can go in and tidy up. What kind of place is your doghouse if the guests see it?"
Speaking of Wen He, I'm annoyed: "He's no guest what he is!"
"Fine, go ahead and argue with me." His mother used her trump card, "Just don't regret it if you make Lingling cry later."
Wen He: "..."
Damn it, Shang Chen is so annoying.
…
On the way, Shang Chen didn't show much nervousness.
Wen Ling admired his mindset; he was methodical in everything he did.
When they arrived at his doorstep, he hesitated for a moment about whether to step out with his left or right leg, and almost fell off the driver's seat. Wen He, watching him make a fool of himself, nearly laughed his head off.
Wen Ling had just unbuckled her seatbelt in the passenger seat.
Shang Chen came over and opened the car door for her, a hint of nervousness finally appearing in his eyes.
Wen Ling glanced at his feet: "You didn't sprain them, did you?"
Shang Chen coughed, looking somewhat uncomfortable: "It seems like I've embarrassed myself in front of my elders."
Wen Ling couldn't help but chuckle and poked his cheek: "No, your face is still right here."
In the past, Shang Chen would have already pinned her down and kissed her passionately. Now, Shang Chen just tugged at his lips and said, "Lingling, stop telling lame jokes, they're a bit cold."
Wen Ling suppressed a laugh, but gently patted his hand: "Don't be nervous, I'm right next to you."
She winked playfully.
Surprisingly, Shang Chen's heart immediately calmed down: "Mm."
The Wen family is large, and one table wasn't enough for everyone, so they split into two tables.
Shang Chen was immediately called over to a table by her brothers, mainly to drink. The elders wanted to persuade him not to drink since he was young, but the fourth brother very familiarly put his arm around Shang Chen's shoulder and said, "Uncle, when I was his age and dating my wife, my good brothers would drink me so much that I couldn't keep my eyes open. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
“Yeah,” the third brother chimed in, “They probably drink a lot at parties and such at school.”
Wen He fanned the flames: "Exactly, exactly."
Shang Chen simply maintained a smile and followed their instructions.
Wen Ling went to her room to change into a comfortable set of casual clothes. When she came downstairs, she heard her good brothers trying to get Shang Chen drunk. She quickly went over and said, "You can't drink alcohol. He was just discharged from the hospital."
The third brother clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction: "Why would someone be so delicate?"
Unable to refuse Wen Ling, he could only look up at Shang Chen and raise an eyebrow: "What do you think, brother-in-law?"
Shang Chen was so startled by the address that he coughed several times: "I'll listen to Lingling."
Third Brother: "..."
The elders laughed out loud in unison and immediately made a decision: "Alright, alright, Lingling, you all sit down and get ready to eat. Xiaojing, don't urge them to drink anymore, just give them soft drinks."
Wen Ling secretly chuckled as she watched her third brother's discomfiture.
Turning around, she met Shang Chen's warm gaze.
"What's wrong?"
He laughed, "I just suddenly feel very happy."

Author's Note: The main story should be finished by the end of this month. I'll be writing a few side stories. One of them is tentatively about why Lingling has post-traumatic stress disorder and stuttering. What other side stories would you like to see? [laughing]
